Bungie has made Eververse into something we were promised it wouldn't be. With each update in year 2 eververse has taken a step in the direction of pay to win. Seems no one supports this action so join with me and sign here and demand on the forums that it is removed!

So no, this armor that I am now wearing to play all the new content is not, in fact, cosmetic. This is real gear with actual, useful talents that is able to be infused to max level. Saying it’s a vanity item is like selling someone a “perfectly safe” unloaded gun, when you can see them holding a box of bullets in their hand.
From a Forbes article. Excellent analogy.
***EDIT***
Lets clean this up a bit!
It seems lots of people think the only way to "win" in this game is to be level 335. The majority of people that play this game are interested in getting the current cool loot. (It's a looter shooter after all) The previously mentioned "cool loot" can now be purchased in a gambling fashion instead of being eared. Don't take "pay to win" so literally people!
SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE GUARDIANS THAT KEEP IT REAL AND DON'T LET THE BUNGIE APOLOGISTS RUN WILD
People want DLC that is based around content rather than more micro-transactions!

But it isn't even pay to win. It's more or less pay to stylize. Not to mention guardians who don't want to pay silver can earn those same loot boxes weekly!

3 RepliesWrong all those items are are a level 3 light. They are all vanity items. It is not a pay to win at all. If it were pay to win they would be at high lights levels when purchased. I got no problem with bungie doing this. As you are able without making any silver purchase to get the same vanity items. You still have to grind to get high level gear to infuse them. It helps provide bungie with money to keep supplying us content. You are just upset others have full sets of vanity items before you.

I would agree except that you get three or more chances per week at sterling treasure rewards for free. You're out of your element.
-
Since when does armor make destiny pay to win? Armor never made a difference in pvp or pve. Now if eververse sold guns that u could only get from there that would be pay to win. Besides u can get sterling treasure from poe anyway

12 RepliesCreates profit for a bigger better expansion. You're worried about a 3def piece of gear though. Hmmm.... i think you might not understand some things.
-
3 RepliesYou realise they originally put it in so the could realise the next dlc free
-
3 RepliesYour right if I got the item and kept it at 3 light I would be able to do hard raid and all other endgame activities to "win" this game.... Your saying the way to win is to collect all the cool new armor that's so far from the truth
-
1 ReplySo by getting gear that has basically no light and no perks before you have to infuse it is pay to win?
-
1 ReplyEdited by TrulyDontCare: 4/14/2016 11:37:16 PMI've never used it, but it doesn't bother me. The people using it are just paying to cheapen the game for themselves. I'd much rather go find the gear. If somebody wants to pay to not play the game, that's their business, even it makes no sense to me. It's not like they're getting an edge over anybody.

Yes because you need to pay to get Sterling Treasure. Spending money is the only way to get Sterling Treasure.
Do the weekly crucible, PoE 41, and go to the postmaster on all characters. Then I want you to tell me how much Sterling Treasure you got, and how many minutes out of your day it took. Your welcome.
1 ReplyI agree that Eververse was, in part, the silliest idea Bungie's had. I would rather "earn" the cool loot. Take this dialogue..."Dude, how did you get that Desolate armor set?" Answer 1: "I bought the packages using $40 worth of Silver... :(" or Answer 2: "I got lucky from my Sterling Silver Packages man! I'm so hyped!" Which one sounds better?

1 ReplyI am totes gonna go buy 20$ of silver now.
-
4 RepliesAm I wrong in thinking that any DLC is "pay to win"? Read through. Vanilla player doesn't buy tdb....stuck at lvl 30 with same old gear. Next guy buys tdb and gets to lvl 32 with better gear. 2nd man has paid money to increase level and have a shot at new gear. Not sure how this differs from what op is complaining about. Eververse is just on a much smaller scale.

Good post. But it's not going to change anything friends. Eververse is here to stay. Tgat was guaranteed before srl.
