Bungie has made Eververse into something we were promised it wouldn't be. With each update in year 2 eververse has taken a step in the direction of pay to win. Seems no one supports this action so join with me and sign here and demand on the forums that it is removed!

So no, this armor that I am now wearing to play all the new content is not, in fact, cosmetic. This is real gear with actual, useful talents that is able to be infused to max level. Saying it’s a vanity item is like selling someone a “perfectly safe” unloaded gun, when you can see them holding a box of bullets in their hand.
From a Forbes article. Excellent analogy.
***EDIT***
Lets clean this up a bit!
It seems lots of people think the only way to "win" in this game is to be level 335. The majority of people that play this game are interested in getting the current cool loot. (It's a looter shooter after all) The previously mentioned "cool loot" can now be purchased in a gambling fashion instead of being eared. Don't take "pay to win" so literally people!
SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE GUARDIANS THAT KEEP IT REAL AND DON'T LET THE BUNGIE APOLOGISTS RUN WILD
People want DLC that is based around content rather than more micro-transactions!

2 RepliesBecause having options that don't affect gameplay is a crime against nature, right? If the gear had unique perks, overpowering bonuses, or couldn't be obtained for free, I'd agree with you. As it is, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that.

It's cosmetic shit that you can earn yeah the 3 sterling treasure limit makes you want to buy them but you don't need to and is no way near pay to win pay for a 3 light item which I have to then infuse as I said its cosmetic

4 RepliesSigned. While the armour won't make you better at raiding or winning in the crucible, it just doesn't work for destiny. It ruins the game play and the culture around the game. Could you imagine what it would have been like if back in year one you could of gotten the chatterwhite shader from ever verse? Or the vault of glass armour and just had to infuse that to level 30. Back then when you saw someone in the tower wearing those items you knew they earned them for doing the hardest thing in the game. It made you jealous and made you work harder to get those items. Now you see someone wearing the coolest armour in the game and you don't care. All you think about is about how they have more money to spend than you do... It's a horrible feeling compared to last year. Please everyone, encourage bungie to stop eververse selling the best looking armour in the game.

1 ReplyYou dont have to buy anything!!!! Damn it I sign to ban people who still complain about this and think Destiny is pay to win.
-
2 RepliesNobody is forcin anyone to buy anything
-
2 RepliesNothing about the silver package is pay to win. The fact that it comes out as level 3 is purely because it's cosmetic. Even if it's i fuseable you do not have to get it at all. Quit complaining because you don't want to spend money on this game. Yes it's understandable you payed for dlc and blah blah. But still this is cosmetic and not needed whatso ever.

Edited by Klev: 4/18/2016 3:14:15 PMYa, I don't have to buy anything. But you know what, playing with other people that spend money on emotes and cosmetic gear just disgusts me. When I play side by side with other players, I want everything we have in our inventories to be earned in game without an outside influence of cash. People bragging and showing off full sets of new cosmetic gear and emotes has caused me to turn off the game. Not because I'm poor, I could easily buy silver, but why would I do that? It's not fun. All it says to me when I see it is, "hey look at me, I'm special, I wasted money on stuff that's free so I can appear to be cool!" You aren't. You really aren't. Also, the rep boosts are an unfair pay to win advantage. More money you spend is more rep boosts which is more faction reward packages which is more gear and more chances for good rolls.

19 RepliesChrist you guys, you don't have to buy anything. None of it does anything to get you better stats or higher level on any of your stuff. I can spend hundreds of dollars on everything in Eververse and none of it will get me anything better than what I already have. It will make me look different, or make the left D-Pad do something different from, but actually less helpful or meaningful than pointing. This is true whether you just started yesterday, or have been playing since launch Also they couldn't possibly do large expansions INSTEAD OF this. When they come out, it'll be BECAUSE OF this Eververse stuff. They simply don't have the budget to keep putting out content for the same game forever without a way to make money from it. Or would you prefer if Destiny was subscription-based? Because that's the only other real option if microtransactions didn't exist

Signed.

5 RepliesWho cares? If it is that upsetting then you should just boycott the game, leave and never come back (forums as well). There a plenty of games out there to play.
-
1 ReplyI spent 1600 silver on sterling packages because I happened to have 1600 silver that I must have forgotten about after a few months of not playing. I really didn't get shit from it in terms of any sort of advantage tbh. So I wouldn't call it P2W necessarily, but Eververse is certainly approaching P2W if it continues on the same path.
-
5 RepliesNah, I don't really see how Eververse is pay to win. Getting the things you get from her don't give you any substantial advantage over other players. Just makes you look cooler. So I don't see a problem.
-
1,924 replies? This post has wiped the post of all posts saying "Signed." EverVerse is not a problem, it only becomes an issue when people spend $50 trying to get a better looking helmet. If you don't want to spend money, that's great. You get some Treasure for free, anyway. Spending money only has a chance to speed up the completion of an armor set.

Forbes? More corrupt than Hilary

3 RepliesWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! :'( I dont understand your moronic post. How is it "Pay to Win"? The Eververse store has never once sold a high level gun or piece of armor with any stats. Its all cosmetic stuff they sell. It does not effect your level of play or give you any advantage whatsoever if you buy it. I am tired of cry babies saying its "Pay to Win". Get off destiny and do your 6th grade homework, this game is to mature for you.

I really want that taken gear.....but no way im paying cash for it. It'll come as a full set reward from the nightfall in a year anyway.
-
2 RepliesTbh, as the infamous negative asshole I am, I don't mind it. Cause I don't buy it... Cause its old re-skinned poo. Now, if it was of interest to me, that I said, "holy shit I want it!!!" Then I would probably buy it...IF they ever had anything worth my interest, that is. But there don't, so no money from me.

Bump this comment to keep Eververse.
-
Tl;Dr what's wrong with eververse?
-
6 RepliesSigh. So I could delete all my characters and start fresh and just go buy Sterling Treasures and be right back where I was without playing the game at all?.........no.......didn't think so.

4 RepliesSign haven't bought 1 piece yet I have 0 silver. The two free ones I get I rely on getting stuff this week. Now it's about who ever has the most money gets the coolest looking gear. Not whoever has the most skill or actually spends a lot of time on here doing it the right way. :)

3 RepliesSterling Treasure is not pay to win. If you bought 1 sterling treasure trying to get a god roll chances are, you will NEVER get that god roll. If you bought 100 sterling treasure's trying to get a god roll chances are, you will NEVER get that god roll. RNG in this game nullifies any pay to win sterling treasures. Plus, these micro transactions are to fund the future development of this game, like the update we just got now. You don't have to buy the emote everyone has. They paid their money, while you could sit back and get everything for free eventually.
