To those buying 20 to 40 dollars of sterling shit. You are actually killing this game and the franchise.
$20 used to get a raid, a bunch of guns, new exotics and a few story missions.
Bungie now sees how much you pay for trivial crap like a full set of armor and says to themselves. If they are willing to pay that much for a chance at reskinned armor set, we can get at least $60 for a ttk sized expansion and $30 to $35 for a dark below sized dlc.
Even if 3/4 of the remaining population doesn't buy these boxes, it will happen.
Buying armor is here to stay, now it's just a point of what they will sell next.

Oh damn! And I just bought $49.99 plus the $19.99 I bought last month. Does this make me a bad Desticle?!?!
-
Taken Armor set Variants only 15.99
per piece of armor
-
I only wanted the Spektar Robes and tge Spektar Helmet and I was lucky enough to get them from the two free sterling treasures from PoE and the weekly crucible gamemode.
-
I bought enough to get both new armor sets for my warlock!
-
It's actually providing free shit for those who don't buy it.
-
Think I'll go buy some just to piss you off
-
2 RepliesCry some more! Better yet, go and keep crying to your daddy to give you some money to buy sterling boxes! Salty motherfukcer!

Bought 70$ worth of it and don't regret it. I have all the armor sets with duplicates so I can mix and match the perks and stats depending on what im doing. My warlock just needs taken hands with auto rifle reload speed so I might drop another 20$ to get it and get more chroma with the reputation buff. I was able to get an ldr since I played 6 hours of strikes with the buff and leveled up my vanguard 4 times in the process.
-
Not bungie, Activision sees how much we buy it ...... Please tell me when they had halo did they put a price on anything else besides the actual game
-
This isn't going anywhere, some guy on reddit posted he spent a $110 right away in an effort to get the gear he wanted. Even if the minority is buying, they're buying a shitload, more than enough to justify keeping this stuff in game.
-
Buy more silver it goes towards future reskins.
-
I bought myself 20 dollars worth, probably will buy more in a week or so if I still don't have a full set of Taken gear by than
-
Cancer posts like this one make me throw money at the screen,... Just think op, now some poor kid in a third world country has to starve because of your post. You be sure and have a nice day!!

3 RepliesCurrently playing the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and having a great time. Want to know why? Because the game can't be changed rn. I'm playing what the developers made and I don't have to connect to anything. I love it because there are no error codes, no lag, none of that. I get to fight monsters and have a great time.

55 RepliesI work hard for my money, I can spend it however I please.
-
Happily supporting a game I love. Me and a buddy both bought 40 dollars worth of silver. Worth it
-
I bought one to make up for the one I didn't get in the postmaster, but that's probably the only one I'll buy

2 RepliesSigh, whats so hard to understand. Lets break this down. Games, before online play came out as full content games with no extra costs. Why? Because there was no online. You bought the game, and just played on your system at home until everything was done then found another game to buy and play. Now we're in the age of online gaming. Where we can play with others in all these uniquely designed, online multiplayer games. However, how do we play with each other? Through online servers. Running a game through an always connected online server costs money. Its like keeping a light on in a room without ever turning it off. The longer you keep it on, the more money you have to pay if you want to keep it running. Thats how online gaming works these days. A company cant just shell out an online game that players can play together and not sell DLC or other Micros of some sort: otherwise they wouldnt be able to keep the servers running. Thats the biggest part most of you dont seem to understand these days. And yes, while buying Micros and having the possibility of spending hundreds on an RNG box to get what you want might seem a little ridiculous, but look at it this way. If everyone just had to fork over $5 and got what they wanted, would the company keep making income to continue to support the games servers so that people can continue to play together and enjoy? No.

1 ReplyGet your panties out of a bunch and play the game.

3 RepliesOr we are helping to fund the future of destiny . You want more destiny ... Destiny needs more money .
-
I would be... OK-ish with this , if that would mean more free content, like free DLCs in Halo 5. I mean, like real free DLCs, not pathetic free updates.
-
6 RepliesI think you are completely right. With every new DLC they push the envelope a little further. It started with emotes and they should have kept it there. Now, they are selling or have sold level boosters, sparrows, ships, and armor. Multiple sets of armor at that. Sure, it's all vanity items. But isn't that the point of this game? To get cooler stuff? People say it won't impact the game but there will be fewer ways to find cool gear in the wild and more gear added to Eververse. Their business model will be focused around what they can make for us to BUY and not EARN. If you want to see the worst case scenario, go look at Black Ops 3. Want Destiny to be like that? I'll quote Luke Smith, you can look at someone's armor or weapons and know where they've been. Before you could say, this person went to the Vault of Glass. Or Crota's End. Prison of Elders. Trials of Osiris. Now, you can look at someone and know they've been to Eververse.

I'm going to take a year off from gaming to let the used game library expand, then I'll start buying used games for next to nothing. I'm the gaming industries worst nightmare, someone with a brain.
-
Agreed, but I blame Activision more than Bungie.

2 RepliesSo it OK for cod to sell gun packs and skins but not for destiny don't understand 😏 nothing you get is high light. Just a skin for my warlock just like getting cool skin for my gun in cod or the 20 other games doing it
