yup. remember when Bungie said they will keep micro transactions strictly cosmetic? well now we will be able to BUY ARMOR. what will we be doing by the time Destiny 2 comes out? Will we have to pay for energy to -blam!-ing play crucible matches?
they are killing this game. if u still log in to Destiny everyday i am so so sorry.
EDIT: "Well its only 3 light so your argument is invalid". i dont give a shit about the light. the point is they are now selling armor rather than pure cosmetics which obviously crosses a line and begs the question: where will we be in 2 years?
EDIT 2: a good point made by lethalviper80:
The 3 light arguement is bullshit, they altered the infusion system just to accomadate and promote silver sales. It's not a coincidence that they changed it just as they try getting you to gamble cash to get the armour that you can then instantly infuse it.
EDIT 3: I guess lethalviper80 is apparently a disliked member of the forums... sorry about that. but for some of u, Its not the armor itself thats the problem but the principle of the entire thing is where Bungie has gone wrong.
You see two years in and we are seeing armor that can be bought (mind you that if you have the money you can end up with an amazing roll of perks that would normally take weeks to obtain through raiding).
What about Destiny 2? I'm concerned for its future because if these micro transactions keep happening and we don't say something then further down the road we will face the repercussions (worst case scenario would be chests like in COD that are purchasable in-game)

Why is this shit still being bitched about?
-
Here's the thing; everyone wants soooo much from this game, but any change Bungie makes is automatically met with pure rage. Honestly, I don't care where this game will be in two years. Just don't have the time to worry about that. I really wish Bungie would go back to the old content model, of making people pay for any new content. The micro transactions are clearly there to fund content created and released by the Live Team. What do people really expect them to sell...emotes for the next 8 years?! I see where people are coming from about this leading to weapons being sold and the game becoming pay to win. It's a slippery slope, but that type of action by Bungie would bury them and this game. They are not stupid enough to make that move. If they're smart, they'd use the armor sold as a gateway to Transmog. Just sell the shell of a weapon and armor and what you chose to infuse in to it, those exact stats would carry over, but limit it to legendary gear only. No pay to win involved, and no one is buying power.
-
I will keep playing while i still have fun until the microtransactions become a problem that i can't get over and then i will quit. THEY ARE GOING TO USE MICROTRANSACTIONS, IT WILL BE PROFITABLE, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Boo MFing Whoo

Blame Activision, not Bungie. Activision pushed this into the game, same as COD.

1 ReplyAnd you have a chance of a gun as well everyone forgets this !

Edited by Happyjoey547014: 4/12/2016 2:30:50 PMSo..... buying level 3 armor that can only be upgraded by in game earned armor is pay to win..... how exactly?
-
Armor....that has no advantage over other armor so it's only "advantage" is cosmetics. Not to mention you can easily get this armor in game. And this is coming someone who constantly bashes bungie for their mistakes.

LOL lethal is the most biased person on these damn forums. I would rather take a walls opinion over his

3 RepliesWHAT IS LOVE

Please explain your right to tell me what to do with my money.

These transactions are innocent at this point. If they step it up, really making it pay to win, I'd quit altogether. For now I don't think they'll push it that far. And even if they did I'd say it's a desperate move.
-
3 light is cosmetic. They are walking a very fine line though
-
Muted. Can't stand posts from people who are this stupid
-
Edited by testsubject121: 4/12/2016 12:19:17 PMIt is cosmetic. You still need to grind out the high level gear m8

51 RepliesI don't care what point you're trying to make, all I have to say is: LOOOOOOL. COSMETICS - 2. cosmetics, superficial measures to make something appear better, more attractive, or more impressive: The budget committee opted for cosmetics instead of a serious urban renewal plan. It's armor and also 3 LL. The infusion system has been modified to ensure whiney gamers get the LL they desire. You will never hear the "forever 319" chants after April 12th. Raid Challenges drop weaponry and gear at the highest light it rewards, which is obvious but I felt it necessary to remind. OP, your post was ignorant and premature. Perhaps juvenile. Good day, Guardian

6 RepliesStarts at 3 defense. Then eventually we won't be able to hit max light because we have to buy the actual light level.
-
1 ReplyOh no Tommy got light 3 gear with the exact same roll as my light 320 gauntlets have but oh wait my gauntlet have a 3rd perk while they only have 2... I honestly can't call buying armor P2W especially since the perks for armor are basically garbage overall. Now if they sold weapons that's where it WILL BE considered pay to win. I will let you google something that shows you what true pay to win is. Look up "Maplestory Cubing" Just a note Nx is a ratio of $1:1000 Nx so when people say they spent X amount of Nx they mean they spent X amount of real money for it.
-
Ok can some one please for the love of God tell me what these god roll perks on armour are that's got your panties in a bunch? Does the armour have exclusive never before seen perks??? No So Wtf is the problem. Surely most people by now have a roll on a particular armour piece they like based on their play style which they will infuse up just like normal. As for the stats come on man it ain't hard to max out to 300 two of the available options with the gears that drop which you discard or keep again on your preference. If this armour had a never before seen perk that was op yeah sure I'd buy into this bandwagon but they don't. Everyone's mad because of the PRINCIPLE not the friggen stats so stop making out the stats are game breaking because they aren't and you know they aren't. It's level 3, you have to earn high gear to bump it up. At point of sale it is cosmetic. It's not 335 insta boom I've just cheated the game is it.
-
3 RepliesWow your crying over armor? Do you even realize its an option. no one is making you buy anything get over it.
-
Have fun doing kings fall hm with your 3 defence armour.
-
I agree that this is a slippery slope, but in order for you to have powerful armor, you still have to do end game content.
-
9 RepliesEdited by Mr F: 4/11/2016 12:33:38 PMThe armour you're buying is cosmetic. The infusion comment is invalid as you cant infuse from nothing, You have to go and earn the higher light gear to use in infusion. So nothing has changed other than the fact some people will fund future updates for us by buying fancy amour. If you could go and buy a 330 piece of raid armour then it would be -blam!-ed and we'd all leave. As it is you cant. Stop whining about nothing. Oh no we can buy armour. what next? paying bungie to take a shit? yeah really,
-
Edited by codebreaker475: 4/12/2016 10:47:33 AMWell begging the question is a fallacy but I do see where you are coming from. It's not just like buying armor it's like having the chance to get the armor then another layer of chance to get a good roll. Plus if you just play you can get 3 a week. But it worries me as well.
-
2 RepliesOk, so, last time I'm going to do this, because evidently there are a lot of idiots that are stuck on this. Neither the 3 light armor that requires both real life money and in game materials or the rep boosters are paying to win. A pay to win scenario would be Tess selling items that are exclusively available at eververse and provide an actual advantage.
Elemental primaries at higher than max light

crucible consumables that increase damage output or mitigation, respectively.
You've turned into Sean Penn if you believe that somebody ranking up and getting a random drop is pay to win. Likewise if you really think that somebody wasting $30 to get 10 pairs of gauntlets that need to be infused and have literally the same perks as the gear I can get from engrams. This isn't pay to win. It's pay to be lazy.

I think they are trying to go cod route. But just like the first time you get backdoor you can't go all in at once. Inch by inch Bungie is going balls deep in all Destiny players.
