yup. remember when Bungie said they will keep micro transactions strictly cosmetic? well now we will be able to BUY ARMOR. what will we be doing by the time Destiny 2 comes out? Will we have to pay for energy to -blam!-ing play crucible matches?
they are killing this game. if u still log in to Destiny everyday i am so so sorry.
EDIT: "Well its only 3 light so your argument is invalid". i dont give a shit about the light. the point is they are now selling armor rather than pure cosmetics which obviously crosses a line and begs the question: where will we be in 2 years?
EDIT 2: a good point made by lethalviper80:
The 3 light arguement is bullshit, they altered the infusion system just to accomadate and promote silver sales. It's not a coincidence that they changed it just as they try getting you to gamble cash to get the armour that you can then instantly infuse it.
EDIT 3: I guess lethalviper80 is apparently a disliked member of the forums... sorry about that. but for some of u, Its not the armor itself thats the problem but the principle of the entire thing is where Bungie has gone wrong.
You see two years in and we are seeing armor that can be bought (mind you that if you have the money you can end up with an amazing roll of perks that would normally take weeks to obtain through raiding).
What about Destiny 2? I'm concerned for its future because if these micro transactions keep happening and we don't say something then further down the road we will face the repercussions (worst case scenario would be chests like in COD that are purchasable in-game)

9 RepliesStfu bi.ch and just don't play! Go back to nintendo ds... Don't hate cause you broke and cannot buy the shit! Bye!
-
another week, another round of mutings.
-
I totally agree that this is a load of shit... Micro transactions shouldn't have been a thing in the first place! I understand emotes are cool and stuff and I've even bought an emote myself but armor is a bit much don't ya think? But hey, just think about how bungie will use that money to have enough resources to buff all weapons by .04%... Just imagine how well the game would be....
-
11 RepliesI am not a fan of microtransactions but does the armor you can buy offer anything but cosmetics?
-
No int, dis or str on them.
-
The wave of the future is...Pay to Play. Time to acknowledge it. Games need constant revenue to continue growth and development. Micro transactions can provide what we are getting today for free. Play the game, or move on...

Edited by DarrylEXK: 4/12/2016 5:11:43 PMThe fact that you can get 3 ( or 9 depending on account or character ) for free makes me not care that people can buy this. If people want to waste 2$ × n amount of money for boxes everyone can get, let them.
-
When you're buying armor with 3 light it is cosmetic. I think the silver armor doesn't even have intelligence/strength stats so it sucks - again just purely cosmetic
-
1 ReplyI agree but im not going to get up in arms over it, after i have played the new content a bit i will move on to other games, i will not be buying the next DLC. I dont like the decisions bungie makes but im just not going to keep ranting on the forums because it doesnt actually change anything. I will send my message with my dollars, and maybe if enough people do that they will start to change all the nerfs, and content droughts, and removal of all the cool stuff we like, and if not then oh well I had a life before destiny and I will have one after it.

Community "armor is 3 light Community "holy shit 1 to 1 infusion rate" Me "so I can basically buy all the super rare armor and infuse it with super high light junk I have laying around? So the armor isn't 3 light it's whatever the hell I want it to be but some can buy it with real money, so is it really cosmetic only? The most desirable thing in this dlc is these armor sets that I can buy with real money"

Edited by Dawkness360: 4/12/2016 4:44:48 PMOdds of having old exotics(you know which ones) being updated through silver.................. Edit:hell, even reforging could be brought back through silver...............

i dont have a problem with sterling boxes being on sale...or the rng chance of that armour piece you want...i dont see it that its pay to win...but thinking about it there is one good point..the eververse sales are ramping up little by little...i think its a valid point to think about in the future...WILL it be p2w further down the line?maybe...but at the same time i dknt see why people cry...basically ALL mobile games have a p2w feature implimented....i know its a whole different ball park looking at mobile games vs android but people dont moan too much about them
-
You're a couple weeks late to the "pay to win" discussion. Please let everyone move on. So sick of this crap on the forums.

1 ReplyThis is that slippery slope everyone worried about.

1 ReplyYet the only thing keeping the Live Team engaged is the revenue produced by microtransactions.....and they provided you with this update without charging everyone (thank those guardians that custom Eververse). Everyone else on Bungies' staff is engaged in the sequel, therefore they aren't giving you new things to do until it's released. If your principles feel violated by this practice, simply leave. Frankly, your standing on the street corner preaching while wearing a sandwich board reading "The End is Near!" is boring and petulant.

1 ReplyEdited by SandeyRavage: 4/12/2016 3:08:56 PMWell, guess I'm off to solo Oryx with my fully paid for 3light level gear. I'll be back in 2 mins cause pay2win. How much for bonestorm? Pay2spin?
-
Armor that you can get for free. Three times a week. Pay to win is purchasing equipment not available by any other means in the game. A prime example is most apps you see ads for while waiting to watch the new YouTube video for whomever you've subscribed with

2 RepliesLoL wake up and smell the coffee buddy! It's what all companies do! Also this shouldn't be a surprise to you, all companies are just like politicians. I hope you don't fall for their talk as well? LOL

3 RepliesMe - Just gonna stand there and watch me burn? But that's alright because I like the way it hurts. Just gonna stand there and hear me cry? But that's alright because I love the way you lie. Bungo - I can't tell you how it really is. I can only tell you what it feels like...
Mah grammy plez?
Is this Pay 2 Win? No Is it purely cosmetic? No It's a step closer to Pay 2 Win, not there yet, but close

1 ReplyFor clarification: he (lethalviper80) is not a disliked member of the community. And he should not be blackballed in anyway. He is a troll, trolling. It's just that why would you give credence to the words of troll.

38 RepliesSo what again is the advantage that you're paying for here that's helping you win? I must have missed some super secret ability on this armor that's also attainable very consistently through multiple in-game activities.
-
6 RepliesI'm not trying to be salty to your post, everyone has a right to their own opinion, and i can respect that. But correct me if I'm wrong. This so called armor that you can get by buying the sterling box isn't it the exact same armor that i can get by playing the game? Now there will be people that will buy these boxes, whether it's with mommy and daddy's money or a gift card they have sitting around. But in no way do i see it giving anyone one an advantage. Also isn't the only way for that armor to be worth anything is to infuse other armor I earned by grinding/RNG. (for me that means it will never drop lol)

I can kinda see your point. They did say (or at the very least elude to) that Eververse would be exclusively for cosmetic items, but I'm fairly certain that they also included something to the effect of "for the foreseeable future" which it's possible we're now past. These items, while not strictly cosmetic, are harmless. Sure you can pay to get some god rolls on them and then infuse them right up to competitive levels, but that functions on the exact same system that normal gameplay does (RNG). You've got just as much a chance of pulling your god roll armor from Eververse that I do by playing the game and not spending a dime (other than what I've already invested). I don't think we're at the "slippery slope" point yet, though. Nor do I think screaming liar at the top of our lungs is the right approach.

Why is this shit still being bitched about?
