Watch the video. Damage per bolt reduced by 21% with this recent patch. With the added stability reduction fusion rifles have been made almost entirely obsolete.
This thread is not to troll. Seriously. 21% damage reduction. I went flawless in Trials with my Vortex when most people were using 1000-Yard Stare.
I made a thread about my love for the weapon when it was released, which trended with some praise that fusion rifles might be fun again: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/157441046/0/0/1
The weapon has been changed entirely. Entirely. I might as well breathe on someone at medium range. Meanwhile, The Last Word + 1000-Yard Stare returns as the meta. Thanks, Bungie. You never cease to amaze us.
EDIT: For those of you telling me I can't aim, that I'm missing all the shots, etc: that's an entirely different discussion about the stability nerf. I'm not bad with fusion rifles. I main them. I know how to use them. This topic is about the pre-patch 43 dmg per bolt getting nerfed to 34 dmg per bolt with the 2.1.0 patch.

9 RepliesSimple, Because they don't want any effective short range special weapons. Good luck taking out blade dancer with a shotgun melee combo. Telesto seems to still be alright, ridiculous range for that sticky too. It is ridiculous, fusions require skill and shotguns were just the most effective short range weapon, too many people bitching about being taken out by them. There have been plenty of counters for both weapons unfortunately not many see the bigger picture. Bungie continues to ruin our game.
