So this is an idea I had for crucible that maybe some would like. I know I do.
So the gametype involves a team of 11 facing one opponent.
The 11 players have perks that go against them and normal shields.
The one gaurdion that has to face them has 4 times the amount of shields, sort of like an overcharge.
And deals more damage and a burn on hid shield.
The objective here is that the 11 have go work together to take down the king of the arena, while the king has to survive for 12 - 15 minutes.
(Other things)
The king will have unlimited ammo for primary, he has to pick up special and heavy.
If you have killed the kinh and become victorious the commendation will be called "off with his head"
And so its balanced the K/D of this is separate to your over all crucible kills as this could handicap you or boost it in a un fair or un balanced way.
Thank you for your time.
Edit: instead of overshields maybe just give the "King" (the gaurdion) a huge health bar like a ultra.
Another edit: thanks for all the comments and info and thoughts on this idea!
From what i can tell it looks like it may be better to have 6v1 sort of like a raid in pvp or 3v1 like a strike.
These are just ideas of course im not the one programming this :)

Maybe the king just has heavy ammo. And/or a normal overshield
-
That game mode has been around for over a decade, in bungie games no less. Call it what its known as: juggernaut
-
You mean Juggernaut? Regicide is normal shields normal damage, just one guy has a giant target on him
-
Might aswell call it juggernaut. Lol
-
This would work.... until the 1 king decides he is going to lose and rage quits.
-
I had the same idea!

8 Replies-6 players -King has overshield of the element their subclass is -Match game like modifier active -King has increased agility in movement speed, not jump height -King switches to whoever kills the king -Whoever kills the king gets ammo filled (besides heavy) and spawns away from the team. -Staying alive as the king earns points. 100 for staying alive. The king earns 10 points per kill. The king earns 100 points every 5 to 10 seconds. -Players after the king do not earn points until killing the king. 500 points per king killed. Players who assisted get 100 points for assist. -If king commits suicide the king is switched to the player with the lowest points. -On becoming the king you lose your super energy, so no saving it for when you become king. Super energy recharge is reduced by 1 minute. -Weapons or abilities that give overshields do not double your overshield. -The King is marked on the map, going invisible does not change that. -5000 points to win.

No it should be like this.. Rumble but with the king having infinite supers 11 people vs 1 in a sense and who ever kills the king is the new king. Or maybe instead of supers it should be like this. 12 players total. Like rumble. Three players are Royals. Each have different relics each does a different thing. For example one is literally the relic in vault of glass another is a sword that changes abilities depending on your subclass like arc is you gain a shield in the other hand. Combo could be a smash like the fist of havoc so to speak. And then the last, void, would be like a Kirby function, basically he would drain the life at a fast rate when he becomes in a certain proximity. Each would be with a cool down just as a super but in this case non-royals wouldn't have a super and the royals would benefit each other, so they could either team fight to the death and consume them (they get 10 seconds of invincibility) and the power is given randomly to another player.

like the idea. put it on the wishlist !!

When I read your title I thought of a kill the target game mode where one person is the king and everyone tries to kill them and when you kill the king you become the new king. the objective is to end the game being king. King gets one non rechargeable overshield.
-
Coulda just said add juggernaut from halo lol.
-
Great idea. I would like to see this game mode I'm also thinking of a sparrow race game mode.
-
Just put a sunbreaker against 11 others. Duh.
-
Sounds like you're copying the Juggernaut mode from Reach.
