Fallout is coming, and I am ready to quit your farm, after a year of grinding. Opinions?

5 RepliesEdited by Lander: 11/4/2015 11:35:46 PMAbout 11 months ago, my options for gaming were: Destiny, DA Inquisition. Then I finished Inquisition. Thus began countless bleak months of grinding and farming, with minimal reward, for a company that I thought didn't give a shit about me, as I sombrely trudged through the never-ending tunnel that is Destiny. The glory days of Skyrim and Fallout 3 seemed very far behind me, as I traversed this new realm of 'Next-Gen consoles' where, with a few exceptions, the main focus seemed to be on milking me for cash, rather than providing me with quality. There were moments of respite: the Witcher, Arkham Knight, and the occasional DLC, but for the most part, my few hours of gaming a day were consumed by the voracious, unsatisfying Destiny. But then suddenly, a wrecking ball (with a TTK symbol painted onto the side) smashed into the side of this tunnel I had found myself in. Light flooded what once had been circumambient darkness, and I realised what a motherf*cking bullshit waste of time the entire first year of Destiny had been. All of those hours farming for gear and marks and whatever the f*ck else Bungie decided to throw at me were completely wasted, in one fell swoop (which also cost me £40). For a few weeks, I tried to continue through the battered bungie-themed tunnel, but was I about to waste another gaming year of my life on this shit? Grinding through mindless content for rewards that Bungie could take from me at any moment? F*ck no. It was then that I glimpsed a Todd Howard-shaped light at the end of this tunnel of bullshit, and behind him stood MGSV, Rise of the Tomb Raider, even f*cking Halo 5, and further behind them, my weary eyes could just barely discern the outlines of Far Cry Primal, Mass Effect Andromeda, Gears 4, and all manner of DLC that would not cost £40 a piece. Thanks Bungie, but I'm off :L might come back for the odd Iron Banner if Halo doesn't grip me, but f*ck your grind, there's plenty of better options on the horizon.

Edited by AVeryOddBox: 11/5/2015 12:31:53 AMThe only problem I had with Bethesda games is i have the tendancie to mod it till I break it, not know how to fix cause to many mods, stops playing for a month comes back and repeats process. Need to work on not doing that xD

17 RepliesFallout is single player. It will get old quick
-
And it's using Destiny's gunplay as the basis for its own. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/fallout-4-gunplay-modeled-after-destinys/1100-6431981/

Good for you, enjoy

Opinion? I don't care for it. I really only liked new vegas. Fallouts 1-3 only had one color. Brown. And the gameplay wasn't the best. So not going to buy fallout 4.
-
Yup I'm ready to quit as well
-
2 RepliesI'm not trying to defend Destiny, but how can people on this forum sit here talking shit about it yet they have multiple level 40 characters and literally thousands of hours.
-
Yes I am so ready to leave this huge grind fest BEHIND!!!

No single player game is going to take over a multiplayer game, ever. Two different audiences for different games

4 RepliesI'll still play destiny....on Tuesdays....for a couple hours, oh look at that raids and nightfalls are done....back to fallout

4 RepliesFallout 4 drinking game. >1 shot for each bug you encounter on launch day
-
Honestly i think that there will be people who still play destiny after fallout comes out based on one fact. Not everyone likes fallout. Just like not everyone likes battlefront or MGS5 or halo 5. All those games have their own player base of dedicated fans who dont want to or dont like any of the games that will come out. I for one will deop destiny for a bit to play fallout 4, but I will still continue to get on for nightfalls and raids.

3 RepliesI could never get into fallout. I tried hard to play fallout 3 but never enjoyed it. Skyrim on the other hand...
-
6 RepliesDon't get too hyped. I'm expecting a release in true bethesda style, with bugs everywhere.

2 RepliesI feel like a few days before November 10th exotic drop rates are going to double

4 RepliesIve only ever played fallout new vegas and got bored in 5 mins. Should i get fallout 4?
-
I'll stick with Need for Speed:)
-
And with it, so will some of the fans...
childish jokes =p ... I'm getting it too btw
-
It will be fun. But as a single player game it won't have that social aspect. I've played some great single player games this year: MGS5, Witcher 3, Bloodborn. But when I wanted to play with friends Destiny was always there.

Already traded destiny and all my other games in to get fallout 4 for free. No regrets
