Simple poll. Are you religious and why? See spoiler for my answer.
I am an atheist. However, I don't put people down for their beliefs like a lot of atheist do. I was born into a very Christian family, and at a early age I knew this wasn't what I believed. In addition to bring a former "Christian by default" I also studied (and practiced to an extent) Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism extensively while trying to find a faith that I believed in, but never found one that made sense to me.
44 Repliesatheism turns out to be too simple. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be a word without meaning.

17 RepliesSo you're a good atheist? A lot of them try to tell you how religion is wrong, or whatever and I'm glad you're not one of those people lol

I'm fine with anyone having any belief in anything as long as it isn't shoved down my throat

9 RepliesEdited by Gladlin: 10/30/2015 3:13:21 PMReligious? No. Do I believe in God? Yes. Do I believe in Christ? Yes. What's the difference? I will not get all bent out of shape because someone else does not share my belief. That is between them and God from my point of view. I do not use my belief as an excuse to discriminate against others, be rude to others or anything like that. I will, instead do what Christ commanded of His followers and pray for them, not for anything bad, but for the hope that they have a good day, that nothing bad happens to them. If something bad does happen and it is within my ability to render assistance, I will do so. The prayer is mainly for myself though, that I not let zealous passion seep it's way into my heart and influence me to do something contrary to what I have just mentioned.

2 RepliesYes. I am a Catholic. And no, not because my parents raised me into it, it's because I choose to believe in it. If I didn't want to get confirmed,I didn't have to. But I did.

We're the maybe? I'm slightly religious but not hardcore. I would consider myself spiritual over religious.

I may be believing in God and Budhha, but I don't really focus on that much.
-
I'd rather have a mind open with wonder than one closed by belief.

I'm an athiest and I often will join in religion debates. But not because I want to convert people, it's more like I love being the devil's advocate. And I'm dangerously obsessed with debating/arguing.
