Hi, I got kicked out yesterday while playing destiny. After logging back in, all pvp is locked and it said i'm restricted from playing.. I post here cause there is no current way to contact Bungie to know why, and they do not tell you either.
So I tried looking up why online and I suspect its my ISP, but it would be nice to know so i can change my ISP if that is the issue.
I use a 4G Router and my ps4 is connected through Ethernet cable.
It's not slow: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4755091552
But lately, its been up and down in destiny. Some days a couple are matches laggy and some days not.
I got baboon error a couple of days and I got disconnected and reconnected from pvp maybe 1 out of 20 matches.
In the future when you restrict people who are not cheating, it would be nice to give us the reason so we can fix it.
Edit:
This is my router:

Try to disable the lag switch from your set up and see if that helps.

If this is you, you might have a problem... http://youtu.be/eqgzjAELXw4 :D

1 ReplyEdited by Flint1985: 10/20/2015 12:06:41 AMTo be honest, sometimes I don't believe the fault always lies our end. At times I've had flawless connection, played other games including MMOs with not a single issue then come to Destiny and get the contacting destiny servers numerous times until a random animal comes to greet me

4 RepliesDude told you, don't use wireless. That's why u got banned. It's about consistency, and wifi can't do this
-
1 ReplyWhere are you located?I am in the USA and use veirzon LTE for internet and don't have any issues.I don't recognize the provider in your speedtest link either.
-
You need to run a package loss test, your ping and speed is fine but if you're losing package's that could cause your problem. Also have you tried to portforward? It might help.
-
It's not slow but you have a packet loss. 40ms should be around 8-9. Try to open some ports on the router. Specifically the ones destiny uses and psn.
-
I agree. I found that My ISP was sucking. It is best to run the test when you get kicked. I have been to PVE mostly until my ISP fixes the problem.

1 ReplyThere starting to ban hunters if there using shadow shot glitch

Edited by RavenousLD3341: 10/19/2015 12:44:41 PM4g has a looonnnngggggg communication route with games like this. In this case it would be your ping measured from yourself to your opponents. Likely looking at 150ms+

4 RepliesYour internet speed is fine. You most likely suffered like me. Someone else is hosting with worse Internet. Or they are at a further distance from you which increases your ping. Bungie needs dedicated servers to cater to the international and cross country friends made in Destiny.

60 RepliesSorry but in you're case the ban is warranted 4g while having great speeds is not designed to handle the complexities of data being continuously exchanged. It staggers the packages. Imagine if you will two rooms filled with two hundred people what's the fastest way to get them to switch rooms with a hallway between Well this video explains. https://youtu.be/EEO35f1WV2k Now 4g is cheap as they don't have thing that help ease the flow of traffic as to be honest theyre looking at a simple ask receive type of data flow, gaming however needs data flowing both ways constantly so a dedicated broadband line with these strategically placed blockages ( which move to help data flow better ) are what's needed for gaming Too many people using the wrong type of Internet's

3 RepliesEdited by KAOS_Eggo: 10/18/2015 10:28:24 PMI see a lot of people stating this and that about dedicated servers and hear people say Halo never had this problem so why does Destiny - Activision vs Microsoft - Microsoft put the money needed into dedicated servers for Halo because they saw the value in keeping their customers happy, Activision have CoD and therefore don't G a F about Destiny except that is it all gravy for them. As long as Activision make us use P2P Torrenting protocols (Seeding and Leeching) there will always be lag. Yes it is infuriating, I have the best internet Australia has on offer, yet I still red bar occasionally when I play with my brothers from the US and even our eastern seaboard. Internet pings and speeds make a difference but not so much that people shouldn't be able to enjoy the game with out getting banned because it is something beyond their control.

6 RepliesEdited by Johnny Five: 10/18/2015 4:27:41 PMYou got 1 of two options. 1. hardwire the ethernet cord into the ps4. 2. Get a new router. I sugguest Linksys (they also have some with a program called network magic. its awesome for monitoring who's connected and who connects.) Anyways good luck. and 50 mb's is a decent connection. I'd sugguest this router or something higher http://www.linksys.com/us/support-product/?pid=01t80000003KRTzAAO This one cost me 30 bucks. on my network i provide for about 4 people on my network. and the bandwith is still allocated very well for my ps4.

2 RepliesI read some of the comments here and the theme I'm seeing is "you've got plenty of bandwidth, you're fine." Bandwidth isn't the issue. You need to get your ping down. Increasing your bandwidth will change nothing. You could have a gigabit connection and it wouldn't change a thing if the latency was the same. I'm truly mystified by all the talk about bandwidth here. That 40 ms ping is your problem and a new router won't fix it. The inherent high latency of the cellular network you're using will still be an issue no matter how you connect to it.

3 RepliesRestrictions are temporary and are 'usually' handed out for example: being in a Fireteam with someone who received a ban. It is 'guilt by association'. You would not be restricted solely on the basis of 'bad internet'. The matchmaking would not pair you with teams with 'good internet'. If your signal quality changed so you became red repeatedly, particularly during attack or defend episodes, you would be suspect and possibly disciplined. Bungie never disclosed the reason for any disciplinary action, however, they do investigate prior to acting. The Restriction will expire. Use the time to investigate a more 'reliable' connection protocol if that is the reason you believe you were disciplined.

10 Replies"4G is not designed for gaming." Are people seriously this retarded? Do they actually think any network system is designed just for online gaming?
-
This dude gets banned while shadowshot glitch abusers run rampant giving all us nightstalkers a bad name... Wow...
-
Well, it sucks that you got restricted, but you answered your own question as to why. Get enough bad internet matches, and you will drag the game down for other players. It's not your fault, it just is what it is.
-
I wonder how long will these people affected be banned.
-
2 Replieshttps://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/164200839/0/0 being hardwired is better but it may not fix the problem, I was hard wired but have had issues since 2.0 They are talking ping 100ms and under but probably no more than 150,
-
That ping tho...
-
This is the reason why pvp activities is being ruined, bum tuning with the worse Internet. This dude is using 4g for online gaming. Please bungie. Take more actions against them.

I have just regular old AT&T 12mbps wireless Internet and I do just fine. I never have a red bar, I had some problems a few months ago, after TDB dropped, with baboon errors, but only with Destiny. It completely knocked my router out and I'd have to reset it, but destiny was the only game that this happened during. So, I quit playing, cuz I would play for an hour or two and then get kicked over and over. But, for some reason, after HoW dropped, I came back and tried again, haven't had any problems since. Not sure what changed, but just saying... "AT&T 12mbps is doing just fine." Lol

1 ReplyI used a LTE air card for a bit when my internet was down. Best connection i ever had. Better than my junk cable. Expensive tho. That and xbox runs idle when its off and used all my data. Freakin sad that theyre banning ppl who are sharing internet in a household. Lets say a single mom who cant afford the best internet, but yet buys a system an a game for her kids, apparently they arent able to play now lol. Poor buisness practices yet again. Dedicated servers wpuld fix these problems. Theyre just too lazy at Bungie to actully fix problems.

4 Replieshey Food, how old is your Modem? (everyone always forgets this dusty old thing sitting behind all the fancy stuff)
