Everyone in rumble is boosting

So many people boosting, I'm guessing for rumble wins, to get fake high stats, for all the medals and for sword kills or for last word kills and other crucible quests and bounties. Hard to win a match when there is a team with one guy constantly getting kills on team mates. Hope these Boosters all get perma banned. Wow literally 50% of replies so far have no idea what boosting is. Here is a link http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Boosting To those that say blame Bungie. I get you. I blame them for making a last word quest when we are sick of last word. But Grow up man. Don't blame the people who are so bad at the game but so self entitled they think they deserve the prize at all costs no matter how much they choose to cheat to get it and ruin matches for everyone else? It's not their fault? They don't have responsibility for their actions Bungie do? They paid for the game so they are automatically entitled to win it? Even if it means shitting all over the game and everyone else trying to play it legit? Take some responsibility for your actions, don't pretend you are a mindless Bungie controlled automaton. Boosting = cheating Lag switching = cheating The link says Bungie has restricted, banned and wiped stats for boosters before doesn't it? It's your own choice and yours alone buddy. Buying a game means you get to play it. It doesn't make you king of the world or exempt from being called out on Cheating. Lol. Edit:- definition of boosting for lazy scrubs that can't click a link let alone win a match or complete a pvp bounty legit "Boosting is using illegitimate means in online multiplayer to receive tons of easy XP, effortless killstreaks, or to increase your level quickly. It usually involves colluding with at least one other person or a group of people who are all helping you." Taken from this http://www.examiner.com/article/how-cheaters-cheat-boosting As good a definition as any. Pre Destiny though. Some very special people have made the excuse that they aren't good at pvp so can't complete the quest without cheating. If you can't complete the quest without cheating then you can't complete the quest. End of. But it's Bungies fault, they say, for making quests in pvp! Of course, those quests are for people that like to play pvp. Unless you plan on getting good enough to do the pvp part, then you can't finish the quest! I would've though that was self evident! Why have a quest with a pvp part if it wasn't supposed to be a challange for those that like a bit if pvp? But then I won't get a shotgun! They say. And what? You don't like Pvp and don't plan on getting good enough to do the quest then don't do the quest. Don't go ahead and choose to cheat anyway! I was forced to cheat by Bungie they say Lame excuses like i had no choice come out over and over and over again 'No choice' ? lol you must have something inbetween those ears of yours. No matter how small...and evidently malfunctioning it may be...surely there was some spark still going off in there? I mean you would've stopped breathing otherwise right? It must've had some capacity to make decisions? Otherwise how did you choose to play Destiny? To read and write on forums? To not piss yourself? The decision you chose was to cheat. You had a choice but you chose to cheat. For that, I blame you, not Bungie.

  • Hmm.. really. you blame people for not wanting to be forced to do crucible/pvp shit? Then yes bungie should give the option to opt out of pvp bullshit for exotics. like they did with the chaperone. in step three. Kill guardians OR minions of the darkness (Majors) Yet for all the other exotics. We that dont like pvp. ARE FORCED to play pvp. Yet the crucibabies get the option of what to do for this exotic? "Oh hey bruh. im doing chaperone.i can go kill minions of darkness sweet" p.s I've done all of my exotic swords legit. I dont like pvp one damn bit. but I've still done them. but theres nothing wrong with people finding an alternate way to complete the shit that they dont like to do.

    • The problem with the PvP parts of these quests is that they grant PvE rewards, and PvE players are getting the quests as a result of doing PvE activities. That sword sounds like it was designed to battle PvE Taken hordes. If PvP quests were acquired by doing PvP activities and granted gear that was designed for PvP, no one reasonable would complain about having to do PvP activities to complete the quest. If a piece of gear can be useful in both modes, I see nothing wrong with letting users select between a PvP or PvE questline. Let people play the mode they prefer.

      • Cheating? Nah. It's just working smarter not harder. It's engrained into any gamer that if there's an easier and faster way to get through something that's boring/frustrating/not fun, they will always take that route. Getting passed the grind to get the reward to have fun. I loathed the PvP portions of Y1 exotic bounties, but it did get me to try PvP a bit more and get better. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. However, PvP just isn't my cup of tea. So, if there's a way to get get passed it as fast as possible then I'll take it. Seriously though, they could have just changed the quest to be kill 50 elites and/or guardians then I think people wouldn't have these issues.

        • Pretty simple: majority doesn't like crucible as much as pve. So instead of grinding for months, boost for a day and get back to the fun stuff. I never boosted doing thorn bounty, but it took me about six months to do. Anything else requiring pvp for a bounty will be boosted.

PVE players should not be forced to do stuff in crucible. That works both ways. PvP players shouldn't need to do PVE. I believe both PvP and PVE should be seprate.

                • I've always noticed this. I always (for the very few times I play rumble) check the roster to see if there are people in a fireteam together, if there are I bounce. Honestly rumble should not allow a fireteam anyway, unless they create a private match option (which should not affect stats or progress toward bounties).

Boosting in a game that has only vanity PvP awards isn't a problem. But boosting in a game with rewards is just predictable. It would just be another Bungie mistake to assume people wouldn't do this. Did Bungie make them jerks? No. But Bungie should be expected to handle it, since there's a simple way to do it. The best solution for Bungie is to not allow fireteam joins for Rumble or any kind of single play matches. That is all.

                          • This isn't as black and white as some believe. Okay, fine, let's say friends giving each other kills in Rumble is unscrupulous. But where do you actually draw that line? If I go into an objective-based game mode and run around looking for cheap kills instead of playing the objective, is that acceptable? If I camp somewhere to avoid dying and make my teammates fight one man down, have I crossed the line? If I run around giving easy kills to the other team because I'm trying to beat people to death with a bladeless sword, is that okay? If I ruin a month's worth of Crucible matches trying to pursue some ancillary objective for a buggy quest that resets itself, is that really better than messing up three matches of Rumble? The moment these quests got written into the game, a million decent PvP matches turned putrid. It seems to me that what we are really arguing about is which playlist has to swallow them.

                          • Aw yes. The basic issue with optional progression-based objectives in multiplayer games. You see, my friends, we can only blame Bungie for three major reasons: 1) restricting efficiency 2) forcing two unlike crowds to intermingle because they desire efficiency 3) not listening to simple precedent 1. PvE and PvP quests can mirror each other in regards to rewards, or there could be "dual quests." These dual quests would have two sets of objectives. One set for PvE and one for PvP. If you complete one set, you complete the quest. Now, however, players are forced to do both PvE and PvP to be efficient, and in a game where progression is most of its gameplay, I believe I am justified when I use the word "forced." It is as equivalent as forcing players to use a firearm in an FPS. 2. The fact, my friends, is that PvPers cannot play PvE as well as PvEers and vice versa. Despite what Bungie may want, there is very little crossover save for these quests. Why, OP, it seems that the thought of a PvEer, who will let you down in comparison to your usual PvPer, would drive you to even HELP them boost just to get them out of your matches, and I would expect the same for PvEers. Why would we fight amongst ourselves when Bungie has blatantly refused to acknowledge the bare analytics of crossover. Why, I would condone boosting, AFKing, etc if you're stuck out of your comfort zone to complete a quest. Heck, maybe then people will start asking Bungie to change things, from both sides. 3. Throughout multiplayer gaming, it had been shown, repeatedly, that optional progression-based objectives are inherently destructive to the multiplayer experience. It causes players to play roles they do not like and become huge detriments to their teams. This fact is only exacerbated when you only have 6 teammates. Bungie has failed to acknowledge this precedent. Sorry OP, Bungie is to blame because this could have been avoided.
