I see a lot of Hunters complaining about "how weak" Shadowshot is.
As someone who's first character was a Hunter, I'd like to say that this class is not at all "weak" or "underpowered". It simply takes patience to use the super effectively.
And I see a lot of Titans saying that us Hunters were very unfortunate due to our new subclass. I'd also disagree with that. Our new subclass has perks where tethered enemies explode, dealing extra damage to all. As well as another perk that gives us 3 bow shots rather than one. Our melee blinds and if you equip "envenomed" it gives them extra damage.
There's a perk that counts all tethered kills as super kills rather than regular kills.
Also, when tethered, I can have someone in my fireteam use their super on you while you are suppressed. So no, we are not unfortunate. No, bungie did not screw Hunters over. No, Nightstalker does not need a buff (looking at all you sad crying hunters right now).
ALL of the Supers are so great. I'm really proud of every single new subclass we got.
Btw: I don't even need to hit you with my bow for it to do anything. I can shoot it at the ground near you and it would tether everyone nearby.
Edit: 1000 comments (: Nice.
I gave up on checking all the comments and stuff but I will reply to some comments as I see fit.

2 RepliesMy only compainy about the class is the nades. The wall grenade is a -blam!-ing joke and I never cared for the void light grenade. Should've gotten the magnetic grenade from Defender.
-
4 RepliesI think it needs a damage buff. It shouldn't take all three shots to kill a tortured captain

Have to agree. The class is a SUPPORT class it isn't there for Hunters to run round being killing machines in crucible it's effectively a hunter version of titan defender with some little extra offence. You want op ranged super play GG, you want stealth and mobility play Bladedancer and if you want a solid team support style play nightstalker. You're not being forced to play the new subclass 24/7

1 ReplyThis class rekindled my love for Hunters. Everything about it is amazing.
-
I just want suppression grenades lol
-
It's support based. You didn't see us titans complaining about the ward not doing damage.

Nightstalker = orbs
-
Love nightstalker, having some good teammates equals super fun

6 RepliesI would buff Shade step's distant. It's around a body length and half in total distance. I'd make it around 2 body lengths. Other than I'm cool with everything.

Only thing I hate is when I try to use my smoke grenades and end up meleeing the enemy in the face instead.
-
Probably needs a SMALL damage buff other wise it's good
-
Don't forget the smoke attack. Night stalker might be my new fav class due to the great crowd control abilities

Thank you finally someone gets it

It's supposed to be a support class

2 RepliesEdited by Tucker: 9/20/2015 4:57:16 PMI've had plenty of time with the hunter subclass (I main a hunter, completed bladedancer and golden gun before TTK, so I've spent the large majority of my time as Nightstalker, only switching when I need triple jump because it's just barely not unlocked yet) and have obtained the sunbreaker (no other experience with it, and none of my titan subclasses are maxed). So far I enjoy both, and I consider them to be fairly balanced. The sunbreaker's hammers aren't too easy to get hits, and the hunter's bow gets stuck on random geometry occasionally. Overall, I feel as though all the new subclasses are a bit overpowered (hope to try out stormcaller within the next week), but instead of the new ones being nerfed, I'd like to see the old ones buffed. Slight tweaks to golden gun, first of havok, and nova bomb (and respective melees) and an even slighter tweak to the second set of subclasses, just to bring them up to the current standard. But these 3 new subclasses should be the standard, because what I've played has felt great, and I've seen a pretty even mix. But hardly any other subclasses nowadays, with the exception of self-res warlocks. Just as an example, one of my favorite ways to use shadow shot is to tether a boss to his minions and focus fire on the minions because the damage is spread between all enemies. The boss loses health so fast.

It's good for generating orbs

Easily the best for a hunter in PVE.

1 ReplyIm a hunter I say no

1 ReplySunbreaker needs a nerf tho.

6 RepliesNightstalker tbag doesn't work. Dodge roll needs buff

The shared damage perk is a beast in control. Always wrecks me.

I love the support aspect of it, I tend to produce an average of 10-12 orbs per shot. From there other classes can follow suit and use similar perks to produce more orbs for the team as well, great for constant supers. It's also an amazing Crowd/Territory control class more so in PvE than PvP.

4 RepliesEdited by zose: 9/20/2015 10:05:37 PMHonestly I think it's over powered and will get nerfed soon. It's by far the single best support class. The bow produces an amount of orbs unmatched by any other class as well as being better than weapons of light against bosses. If you aren't using the bow in my king's fall against bosses than you and your team are just stupid. The damage output gets a huge buff. Ya its not great for pvp but that's not what it was meant for. The bow is a pve support class not a pvp kill all like arc blade or golden gun

The Nightstalker is a support class; it's natural that it appears underpowered. The strength of the Nightstalker is that it can support itself, sort of. You can lock down a large number of enemies with your Super, toss in a grenade and some poison smoke, then start hosing them down. The immediate damage caused by the super is not overwhelming; it's what you do afterwards that counts. As for Orb generation, I have gotten messages asking how I generate so many orbs in patrol. That's new.

Quiver in crucible

Nightstalker is an amazing sub class and as a main Warlock, I think they are great. With the right perks, they become the ultimate PvE class.
