The point of this post is that if you aren't using these weapons right now for competitive(tryhard) play you are at a disadvantage regardless of how good you are with a weapon these weapons statistically speaking are able to change the tides of battle, why would you gimp yourself by using something else? Also this was satire but the tag doesn't work...
its true everyone knows its true and it'll still be true when the weapon patch hits its not going to fix everything so much for the weapon variety
no gun you list will beat the damage per round on thorn or TLW.
Atimise Flare's been really cool about this find his comment and bump it they have some incredible insight(I mean its things that should be common sense but I've seen and done (quite frequently to my detriment) many of the things they talk about like using weapons outside their optimal range (like rushing with red death when I should be using a shotty or trying to snipe with hand cannons)

2 RepliesEdited by VentralPuma606: 8/15/2015 1:26:55 PMNo argument against the damage output per round(I've barely used either). It all depends on who is using them. Those guns plagued the last iron banner and still are very common in normal crucible. Nothing is more satisfying to me the taking out thorn and last word users with the necrochasm. I actually raised my k/d using necrochasm and hard light. Edit. Red deaths bursts do more than one thorn round, if the full burst hits. It's all about player skill and dps.

5 RepliesEdited by Artimise Flare: 8/10/2015 11:04:27 PMI recommend checking out videos from the following You Tube channels. They helped me a great deal with my crucible play. I went from barely pulling .4 KD to jumping to easily pulling 1.5+ While that isn't terribly impressive, applying the knowledge that you can glean from much more skilled players is what really separates the average PvP player from the top tier ones. Believe it or not, most high skill players don't play day in and day out. They play for a few hours, stop, and review the footage of what they did. They analyze, search for ways to improve. There are exceptions to this rule, of course, but most top tier players spend just as much time going over what they did right and wrong with a critical eye, as much as they do playing the game. Mtashed - He has quite a few excellent tips and guide videos, I learned a great deal from him, especially his video that discusses the benefits and weaknesses of blink. (Which you undoubtedly have encountered on a near constant basis) TrueVanguard - Another great player that gives some very insightful tips on how to maneuver around the map, not only with blink, but with the Titans Lift ability. Planet Destiny - The channel is an amalgam of different You Tubers, all contributing to the same channel. Mtashed and TrueVanguard both post videos here discussing how to improve in the Crucible. My Name is Byf - An excellent PvP player, with an impressive career thus far in the Crucible, he tends to cover technical aspects as well as Theory crafting for the game. HIGHLY recommend watching is videos. Here's a few video's that REALLY helped me, to start you off. I can kill people using those guns with any other weapon I have. I like to use my weapons instead of two guns over and -blam!-ing over. You wanna use 2 guns all the time do so. I wish PvP had bigger maps as this blink shotgun shut gets old fast. Roll on the weapon update as far as I'm concerned will hopefully make PvP more interesting.
-
Why not use your skill and try a weapon that's not going to kill in one to two shots from any range. No satisfaction in a thorn or last word kill. Lots of satisfaction from a devil you know, shadow price, three little words. Just to name a few.

Hawkmoon is a great primary, red death is a great primary, messenger is a great primary and the list goes on
-
No land beyond? Universal remote?
-
1 ReplyOh, I get it... they're just whining about PvP. Now it makes sense.
-
Messenger, red death, mida, hopscotch. Post invaldated
-
Red death and Hawkmoon disagrees.
-
1 ReplyEvery player except for cptgantu doesn't suck ass.

It all comes down to practice, map knowledge and play style. The reason I say this is I can pull the same KD using Thorn, Red Death, Messenger and Strangers Rifle consistently. Most people don't use a weapon within its intended Optimal distance.

Nlb and uni remote have faster ttk just sayin

5 RepliesFunny thing about your post is that Its not true. Lol If that's what you think, then it's a direct indication of your lack of skill with other primaries. Don't make a general statement, especially such a grand one simply based off of your lack of skill. That's an inaccurate and unhealthy approach.

Uhhh hawkmoon, red death, hopscotch?
-
Mida multi tool is good
-
Currently using edialon ally.... Enjoying it immensely

Per round? Timur's lash? Hawkmoon? And no, I outgun people all the time with my bad juju or, hell, the Khvostov. Thorn and TLW are strong, even overpowered, but they aren't broken.
-
Red death, messenger, hopscotch, even bad juju. No land beyond, the vex, suros, mida. These guns put in the right hand and a suited play style can keep up with anything put in front of them. Yes TLW and the thorn are OP but the major issue with them at the minute is people hear so much hate about how these guns rule the crucible they feel no choice but to use them. I think the majority of people running these weapons are not skilled with a hand cannon and would actually do a lot better with something else in their hand, but sheep will always follow the crowd. Red death or Suros FTW.

HORSE MEAT

I dunno. Fatebringer is easily the most God-power Hand Cannon I've ever wielded. It does more precision damage than TLW and it's not even upgraded yet. As far as other Primaries go, I thoroughly enjoy using Vision of Confluence for both PvP and PvE. A solid gun all around.

timurs lash hawkmoon red death suros nlb gelions demise ... ???

Dredgen VonDon't save her - old
I have out gun thorn users with Red hand Red death No land beyond(once lol) The side arm And many more.
tlw you can out gun it just by moving a lot
-
They are getting nerfed, and believe it or not they will not be the best afterwards.

I've killed countless people using thorn or the last word in 1v1 style with Nechrochasm.
