I lol every time someone tries to tell me that. The link above shows just a few of the many horrible acts committed in the name of Christianity, including:
- The Crusades
- The Witch hunts
- Slavery
- The KKK
- The torture of non-believers
If you want to be a christian, that's fine, but don't pretend that your religion is all "peace and love".
Purse, out.

Can't this be said for everything?
not defending anyone
But doesn't it make picking one religion (Muslim Christian etc) irrelevant because everyone is basically a hypocrite in what they do/say...?
like not even just religion
-
Honestly almost every religion is peace like, it's just the few extremist who tend to stand out and give a certain religion a bad representation. Just don't know why some people can't wrap their head around it ;p
-
What about Islam? Isis? 9/11 bombings? They also partaked in the Crusades.... It's simple: EXTREMISTS. Before you post saying this please consider what your writing and check everything ! I've met many Christians who are peaceful

1 ReplyEdited by Vicex: 7/1/2015 9:42:07 PMSomething to consider: Does restricting one's human rights non-violently or adamantly threatening people with 'eternal hell' make you peaceful?
The answer is "No".
3 RepliesChristians are crazy. I don't care how sane they claim to be. If you believe in all loving omnipotent force (God) then you are insane. The bible is no different than The Lord of the Rings. Their both fiction.

This. There is so much wrong with this.

5 RepliesBut islaam is peace right...?Isis seems to love peace

This is why I want #debate

I partially agree with you, but just because a religion does something violent or "evil" it doesn't mean they don't have peaceful intentions. Once I pushed my sister after an argument and she hurt herself, but that doesn't mean I'm not a peaceful person
-
Damn, my cover's been blown. Fine, let me go start recruiting at my local church. We're going on a manhunt.

1 ReplyThe torture on non believers could not have been by any true Christian. The kkk wasn't a Christian group. I don't know anything about the witch hunts and I don't know enough about the crusades to counter this. Not a history buff lol
-
Cool dude but I'm more concerned with stuff going on this century

10 RepliesHow many atheist organizations are feeding the homeless, helping with disaster relief, and helping third world countries. Thank you and God bless

They got some pretty crazy ways of killing people

Edited by JOSIAHSPARTAN: 7/4/2015 1:46:59 PMMeanwhile, the silent of majority of us atheists are not trying to pick fights with Christians on b.net. It honestly makes me giggle that people still make these religion threads. Then they defend them as if they were little kids, with petty insults. Hard to believe that some of the people on this site are over 12. Incoming generic douchy insults. Time to giggle more! Inb4cryaboutit Inb4autistic Inb4idiot Inb4kid

Cleave to no faith when faith brings blood

Religion is a spiritual belief. Human beings were responsible for all of those terrible acts. Fvck all to do with religion.
-
Realistically, no religion is a religion of peace. More lives have been taken in the name of (a) god than there has been in any if not all of the wars (world or civil) combined.
-
Ok I figured it out. The crusades were done by Catholics.
-
9 RepliesOnly religion I've studied that wasn't found on violence or oppression was Buddhism. Only one.

There are extremists in every religion. ISIS is Muslim extremists. There a Jewish, Lutheran, and even atheist extremists.

Committed in the name of Christianity =/= following the core teachings of Christianity.
