anybody else not spending commendations?
I have 7 vanguard commendations, and 6 crucible ones. I do not do crucible, so i never have any crucible marks. And i do not buy vanguard weapons from the vendor as the perks lick balls.
Can we please get something to spend these on as some type of reward for time spent? Every time you level up a faction they give you one of the crucible comms. Please give us an actual reason to use these

im not .. im keeping them for after the new dlc drops im sure they will raise the light lvl in the vendors again i dont see they will change the currency though

I haven't used one yet. I wouldn't mind if they could be used to exchange ascendant mats like you can with radiant mats from Eris. I need Ascendant energies for my new weapons and I've got well over 100 useless ascendant shards. Maybe one commendation and some glimmer for every 10 ascendant materials exchanged would be fair?

No need. Once raid gear is squired or you can get to 31 with what you have already the commendations are kind of useless

Currently have 18 Vanguard commendations sat in my vault doing NOTHING!. I have got weapons that I need through RNG as I did not like the weapons sold at the vendor and only option is VG vendor as I do not like crucible. I have one lvl 32 titan so he does not require them as 3 pieces of raid gear (4th needs 21 shards) and exotic arms, 1 lvl 31 titan who uses lvl 32s original items (Helmet was originally RNG but then got exotic helmet) and bought vanguard chest using 1 mark. Warlock has 3 pieces of raid gear and spent the most vanguard marks as got to 29 pre DLC. But even he only used 2 marks. So thats a total of 3 VG marks over 3 characters at 32, 31 and 31!! Stupid! I do bounties every day and run patrols with friends along with ROC Stikes (Still yet to get an exotic to drop in 820 hours of play) so I rank up Vanguard with each character on average 3-4 days. If the word is true about HoW being released on the 10th of March then I will earn another 48!! FOR WHAT???? Materials are just as bad now. I have 200+ of each and as they batch up in blocks of 200 I now have to throw all the smaller bundles around to other characters...in turn I then end up with a full up postmaster who is collecting crap that I get during missions (I swear if I get bloodpact shader one more time i'll scream!). Old exotic weapons are also becoming an issue. I want to wait till Xur sells the upgrades, but they are now taking up space and few have been sharded as they space was a premium. Sorry went a little off topic but Destiny is such a great game, best FPS playing game i have ever touch...but let down by so many niggles, bad design decisions, bad QC...you all know the rest.

1 ReplyThe problem with commendations is that I can earn them faster than I can earn marks, especially Crucible marks. They are pointless.

All I want is unwilling soul, for the people and plug one.1, after that I won't be using any commendations. I have 1 crucible and 6 vanguard. I wish they could bring back the weapons from before the dark below cause the new weapons are shit. All they had to do was raise the attack to 331...stupid bungie :P

The guns all ducking suck compared to dropped and pre-DLC vanguard guns. The armor I had to buy. And as a warlock I -blam!-ing hate the chest, they took away our trenchcoats.

I wish they would just get rid of them. And lower the marks spent on gear back to the original price.

It's not that I'm not spending them, I just don't have the marks to use them up quicker than I get them.

Probably save them for when the next dlc comes out...if there isn't a new way to buy upgraded gear by then

I needed a commendation in the first day of the expansion to get a helm, then got an exotic from the nightfall. Then I wanted to get a new chest piece, but got that from an engram. So basically I stopped needing commendations about 2 days into the xpac.

I find I get the commendations long before I have the marks to buy stuff... Bungie do need to rethink rebalance or change all together the commendations last night I got a mote of light and a commendation... Vanguard rank I have 3 commendations in the vault and have bought all the guns i'd have wanted already this has very little value and the commendations don't even reward glimmer when dismantled :(

Save them to buy light 39 gear next dlc

I have 7 saved up as well. I'll use them with my new character once I make a new titan at some point.
