So when does the full game come out?

I don't want to be one of THOSE people, but Destiny does not feel like a full game... I'm almost level 20 (level 19, about half way through to 20), and I've literally almost done everything the game has to offer content wise (or so it seems). The environments are stunning, the gameplay is smooth, but the lack of content just makes all that obsolete. For a game that Bungie has been stating will have life in it for "10 years" or whatever their quote was, myself and some friends have done pretty much everything in a matter of three days... And we're most likely going to have to BUY the rest of the content through DLC when we have all just paid upwards of $70 for the "full game"... Very disappointing. :(

  • The full game comes out September 16th when the ONE AND ONLY Raid finally comes out. 😂 The only form of bosses to kill are Strikes and the one Raid (I'm not counting enemies with double the health in campaign as bosses, because they're not). You finish five missions per planet at maybe 15 minutes each for a slow player, campaign over. PVP doesn't have a separate levelling system, the entire game is based off of a universal levelling system. You know what gives players that drive to keep playing multiplayer? Earning experience, ask anyone. Yes, I most certainly will bring that recycled piece of s*** Call of Duty into this - you have usually around 50 levels plus ten prestige modes to reset and further fortify this levelling system, it lasts. Even Halo lasted due to the levelling system on there, I mean for crying out loud look at Halo Reach, that multiplayer lasted due to the thirty years it would take to complete it and unlock all the gear. Oh, but Destiny? I was max level at the start of Venus.. Now my PVP, whilst fun, is maxed so to speak, no longer levelling up, eventually I'll get bored of that, too. Oh and this campaign comparison one of you mentioned about Halo? Just get out of here, pronto, you silly Sally. Halo featured cutscenes, interactive cutscenes through Chief's eyes, variety of mission objectives, an amazing, compelling story, and more. THIS WAS A BUNGIE GAME. No excuses can be made. Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't played Destiny's campaign- no, Destiny's first mission actually - Each time you get to a new planet, you find a terminal to get your Sparrow online, then for the next five story missions on every single planet, you'll go to the objective, send Dinklebot 3000 out to have a geez at whatever terminal you find, fend off a couple waves of enemies whilst Dinklebot takes his sweet ass time, then you're done. That's every, single, mission. Oh and I guess they throw in some form of bigger enemy at the last mission of each planet, which according to everyone makes the campaign less repetitive..? Okay, but this is a serious spoiler of the final mission, DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE IT:
Finally some variation, you go through a portal in what seems to be the first different effect the player goes through, with the screen going all funny as you teleport somewhere. You then, again, kill some enemies, get to the boss. To kill this boss, you kill three identical mini-bosses it spawns, then once they're dead, the big boss dies. What happens next? The same thing at the end of every mission, 30 seconds till you're forcefully kicked out of that mission. Now, the ending cutscene of the game.. You have the Speaker give a speech about how this however many year old battle to save the Traveller was won in a couple days single-handedly (or in co-op) by you, the only person in Destiny with infinite lives that can respawn and ultimately never be beaten. You then see your character in the hanger talking with "The Stranger" about, well I can't even remember, something about how the ends of things are just the beginnings (the new beginning will become available in a couple months for a small fee of $40, of course), she gives you her gun (level 16 gun, straight to the stash to never be seen again), and bam, that's it.
Now, would it be considered a spoiler if I just mention what is NOT in the game? Seeming as how every person on the Internet needs to voice their opinion, I'm sure I'll get an answer to this, but anyways.. Destiny is a game about the universe, planets, but we can explore one country on each - no, I can't even say that, it's one small area of one country. Why didn't they take us to the other side of the Earth? Wouldn't the darkness there be far worse and more fun to go up against as it's the furthest point away from the Traveler on that planet? One quarter of this entire campaign was available in the Beta.. You never once get an interactive animated (non-cinematic) cutscene in this game whatsoever. Why not have an enemy grab you whilst you're deploying Dinklebot to do his repetitive scanning? Or when some bosses quite literally explode, you don't flinch, why not half your character block their face from the shrapnel or something? Titanfall, a game with no campaign, had more interactive cutscenes.. Can everyone, please, for the love of god, shut up about "you can go beyond 20". No, you cannot. If you take your armour off, what level are you? Case closed. You cap at 20 then the game makes you think you're a higher level by upping the number due to gear you equip, you are STILL LEVEL 20. Understood? Good. People say "oh but you have to get legendary gear and such still, the game isn't over". *sigh*. You can earn, at max, 100 crucible/vanguard marks per week (I've already earned all 100 crucible ones, in two days..). The helmet I want to buy? Costs 120 or something. Bungie, is this your idea of increasing Destiny's life span? Making it so we have to wait weeks before we can be allowed to earn enough marks to purchase a full set of level 20 gear? "Oh but you can farm it" look kid would you just take a seat and let me finish? Yes, you can spend hours on end doing the exact same four bosses over and over in the hopes of them dropping those shiny orbs that can (but probably won't) be decrypted into legendary or exotic armour/weapons/items. You cannot compare this games longevity to Halo and such as you have in the comments people. Why? Destiny, is an "MMO". "No they said don't call it that", kid shut the hell up and stop interrupting me.. They've said, Destiny is a 100% always online role playing game with PVP as well. At the start, they pretty much said "Destiny is a massively multiplayer online game but do not call it an MMO". *face palm* The genre of this game, a game of it's kind, should have more content. If you compare it to any other role playing game with a skill tree/levelling system and the need to farm for gear, Destiny is a crumb that fell off of the RPG cookie. Final Fantasy, Borderlands, Skyrim, and so on, had as least four times the amount of content than this game. I mean I don't think any other company in the history of game-kind would EVER make a levelling system cap out at 20. Even 40 would be low.. So yes, destiny does have (just to shut you all up) as much content as a Halo game (campaign wise, at least Halo had a levelling system for the online you wouldn't max solely from it's campaign, oh and a levelling system that didn't max at 20 or take 48 hours to max), but a Halo game isn't under the same category, so comparing it to Halo for it's amount of content is about as smart of a move as comparing a banana to a rock. If you compare Destiny to other games of it's kind, it's a mere pebble next to a boulder. Although I'll have to admit, I do enjoy this game, I wasn't bored, I did the entire campaign whilst having fun and the PVP is great, too, but I truly cannot find it within myself to say this game has enough content or will last, sadly, because it truly is a great game with a lot of potential, just lacking the majorly needed longevity of a game of it's kind.. Well, I've said my part, now I'm off to grind the same four missions repeatedly to get max level gear seeming as how I reached max level in 48 hours in a game that's meant to last a decade. #DealWithIt. P.S, not once did they say "our Destiny franchise will last ten years with multiple sequels", they outright said Destiny would be an ever-changing game with a lifespan of ten years. Go watch their ViDocs before trying to prove us wrong. xo

      • At 19 you don't even have everything unlocked. There is still nightfall missions and strikes there is also regular strike playlist for lvl 24 and the raid isn't unlocked yet and you can't join that till 26 I think

      • I'll try and compare this to halo. Halo ce was the first game. It's story was only a small piece of the entire halo storyline. Destiny's first set of content is basically halo ce

        • It's not a full game, it's a launching point. This is the issue that many console player are having a hard time with. This is not like Halo, CoD, Fable, or any other franchise. That's MMO part of it. It's a constant evolving story..with no real end just an escalation to the next event. Like in Everquest, WoW and other games, you just complete this part of the story and wait for the next. While you are waiting for the next event, you prepare. You prepare by grinding for levels and gear. While there will be paid DLC, it's been stated there will be frequent add-ons that will be free. We are actually expecting a few over the next few weeks.

          • Lack of content? Once you beat story, do it again on harder difficulties. Once you beat all strikes, do again all harder difficulties. Daily/Weekly Heroic Missions. Factions/Bounties. PvP. Reach Level 30, getting all Leg/Exotics. THEN! Make a new character. Repeat all steps above. THEN! Make a new character. Repeat above. Then, there is Raid. Do it on all three characters. Normal and Hard mode. If anything, this game does not lack content. Maybe it seems that way to you, but youre probably just one of those guys who beats the 'campaign' then calls it quits saying theres nothing to do. Im sorry, but is there anything to do in CoD besides multiplayer? Or BF? Or Halo? No... But people still play and enjoy them.

            • With a name starting in "troll," I usually toe the line here pretty cautiously. But in the off chance that you're serious: -If you bought the game for "upwards of $70," congrats, you also got the DLC paid for up front. Standard game was $60, just like all games (unless you're counting it in AU$, then I know that price is going to be up). -Raids haven't even opened yet. Give them a chance to wow you when they go live on Tuesday. -10 years is for the entire series, just for the record, designed to go across 4 games. Halo was also a 10 year venture by Bungie, and honestly, those campaigns could be quite short.

If any of you have EVER played or heard of Guild Wars 2, and how its story system works. Well this is what you're getting. They add new content in at certain times in order to keep things fresh and constantly changing things up depending on how the game is played and the feedback in general. For those whiners that are saying "oh I beat the game in 10 hours and its not really all that", all I have to say is.... No -blam!-ing shit sherlock, the games made to be updated on a constant basis with content. If any of the whiners had half a brain cell and did their research on the game, they would know about that and not complain so much like a bunch of -blam!-ing retarded baby seals. Jesus christ im honestly astounded at how hard it apparently is for people to research the game they're all playing, yet somehow they have the brain power to come onto these forums and put down a 5 paragraph rant about why they think the games unfinished. Again, NO SHIT SHERLOCK, its not SUPPOSED to be finished. Thats the MAGIC of the whole -blam!-ing idea behind the game, there wont BE an ending to it for a LONG while because bungie is planning to constantly add in new content. -blam!-ing christ people you have the internet and its capabilites for a reason. /rant

Guys... Halo also has "only" 9 to 11 hours of campaign and then? You start replaying it on hardmode / Legendary => so do this here YOU CAN! Or you start enjoying the multiplayer => here you can also! It is the crucible / PVP! ENJOY IT! I really love the multiplayer but every second match is interrupted by server errors so enjoy it for ME :D And as mentioned by others here you can do dailys and Level up the trading NPCs at the Tower or you can improve your gear or search for every golden chest (5 on every planet) or search every ghost (i dont like this part but ok... i wish there would be riddles or anything like this and not such lazy collectables).
