He's working on marathon as per marathon ui lead Elliot Gray on X - sure explains no state of play or destiny news since before Xmas.
& people still believe there's 500 staff on destiny & just 300 on Marathon.
They've abandoned ship 😁

Marathon is the newborn baby and is getting all the attention, the devs are making changes at short notice based on player feedback, if you follow on X you would think Bungie are a new indie startup with a new game and following ... very different than what we've experienced of late when it comes to D2. 😥

13 RepliesSo if I understand this 300 people from Destiny have been spending all the Destiny time working on Marathon leaving just 200 on Destiny but since the director is destroying Marathon instead of Destiny the other 198 left for Destiny are off playing Arc Raiders. Yep that seems 100% correct. Oh wait for the smarter folks out there you noticed I left 2 out - according to the TWID they are busy making screen grabs in Destiny and calling it new activites.
They've abandoned ship 😁
Little did they know, staying on the ship and investing in it would’ve made them boatloads of money, but ig they’d rather die as a company

1 ReplyI read that as Mike Tyson for a moment

And/or he is completely incompetent!😂

3 RepliesCould be wrong but wouldn’t he be the guy who’s overseen the last year of the destiny disaster? Are we that bothered really. I couldn’t tell you anything about him, we never hear from him or see him so what’s the difference deference at this point .
*there's 5 staff on destiny & just 795 on Marathon.
*I think this is accurate. 😂

More like unpaid interns are running the destiny crew

2 RepliesMeanwhile the golden goose, Destiny, has slipped to #172 on steams most played list. The writing is clearly on the wall for the IP.

I think there will be some bad news coming wrt to marathon…

3 RepliesTime to let go of d2 ! It’s been over a decade of a rollercoaster of a game …franchise. Sad to see but d2 will die off and hopefully a d3 is the making .
-
2 RepliesHe was speaking about all of bungie not specifically the marathon team.
this is just the people i know off the top of my head who worked on a halo title who are STILL at bungie.
That's before 2 rounds of layoffs, the last one being 22% of staff. It would be 0 people of Destiny 2, and 550 on Marathon. Just like Destiny 1..... they left this in its current state for a different game.

as long as the AI they put in control of D2 is good... imagine an AI that could source the player-base dynamically for changes to the game and make those changes or prioritize those teams... ...yes it would have to be able to make a difference between I want a pony instead of a sparrow and the portal killing the game but I believe in Skynet/Rasputin
