Bungie delebrately sabotage d2 for marathon while lying that d2 would be fine.
Marathon is for a specific audience and well that's small and they abused d2 fan base to the point d2 is now a ghost town and has poison the well of thier trust they wont come back. They will blame the d2 players not themselves and wonder why Sony will shut down bungie probably

29 RepliesEdited by BillyJean: 3/12/2026 6:22:02 PMIn all fairness that is possible. Microsoft was to blame for "being controling". Activision was to blame for "holding them back" Sony was to blame for "layoffs and shaking up the working studio". When they don't have another partnership company to blame, it's us, "our expectations are too high", "they can't over deliver because it will set the bar too high", "we always want too much content", "Marathon beta was bad cause it wasn't for Destiny players". And they lie, lie and lie. They didn't delay the last update days before Marathon, cause of Marathon..... "it needed 4 more months for unrelated quality improvements." If this game dies it's everyone's fault, the millions that quit, or the few left of us. But NEVER is it EVER Bungie's fault, even when it's something only Bungie had control over.

15 RepliesDestiny as a whole is over ten years old. How many games can say that? Bungie milked that cow for all it was worth.

4 RepliesEdited by ZigZag: 3/13/2026 5:07:18 PMThe numbers of launch on steam are dwindling quickly it seems. I’d play the game if it wasn’t so… unrealistic and goofy. They really went hard for a nonsensical design. Like if a new wave bar in the early 80’s did paintball tournaments. Also I just don’t like seasonal resets or extraction shooters honestly. I wish it was just a PvP game with static weapons so maybe it could gather esport interest. Trying not to dog the people left over from the gold parachute exodus -blam!- but Bungie is a company that couldn’t even give us crucible maps when we were pumping money non stop into them, and instead of really balancing pvp they would do these freak show balance change stretches of “hey this type of weapon or ability is crazy op, have fun in midtown!”. Then just going the gambit route and completely abandoning crucible altogether because weapon balancing is a lot of work! How would they not alienate this new games players the same way? I don’t trust them anymore. Nope. P.S. Here’s an example of Bungie being either devious or oblivious: Players like me grinded their asses off for all of the newer VoG weapon patterns and timelosts just to literally have them be soft sunset on the very next expansion (avante guard -blam!- you) That’s when I was like ok this game is now one of those mechanical hand grab the prize machines. 14000+ hours and many great times. Was a good run but adios. Gonna start worrying about the lawn or something these days. I kinda feel like Tina Turner when she left Ike, so many possibilities! I’d definitely come back for D3 depending on how invested I get in said lawn.

1 ReplyWell yeah, they did the same thing to D1 to push people into D2. That's why they -blam!- up the special ammo economy in crucible in D1 when the beta for D2 launched. That where the no land and wormwood meta came from.

3 RepliesThe new Bungie and Sony really thought they could string along players …well what’s left to keep playing the subpar content for another year after all the lies and misleading players for years ?! Wild Well looks like Sony will gobble up Bungie slowly now with marathon not hitting the mark and now the one sure game they had is now dying . Epic fail

3 RepliesI don't know any more. Incompentance, neglect, or woke. It makes zero sense which ever way you look at it. D2 has so much potential left, yet they continue to make awful decisions. It would take literally one person to make small changes, add rotators that people want, reissue one wepon to the tiered system weekly and stick it into a portal playlist, it's not perfect but it's something for the dedictaed players to chase. Anything... but they seem to have just walked out the door and hit auto-pilot.

Sad but true. :(

1 ReplyYep, they did. Destiny had to die, for Marathon to live. And they have zero shame.

4 RepliesIf you ask me it’s the community own fault. They always stated PvP is dumb. And what they always sayde was; why do we need to play PvP it’s so dumb destiny is a pve game…. Well now all the destiny players who had a PvP itch are now like nah idd rather play marathon a loot/pvp game. And guess what happens… well pvp players have been saying PvP is what keeps destiny alive.. and now all these players have left. Hope all you pve players are happy..

Edited by NerfPaladins06: 3/12/2026 11:09:27 PM"Show us your Renegades pics!" The gal they have to ask that knowing they brought the game down to such a sorry state 😬

We both have profile bios made same month same year, that made me happy lol

17 RepliesThe "audience" for 'D2' has been saying the game was dying or dead since day one so after a decade-ish, perhaps they'll get their wish. Rejoice, the doomsayers were finally right!
-
Good, it’s an old game!
-
Bungie wont be shut down but let go or sold. Like what happened in the past. But why do you care? Its not your problem. Your platform has many other games to choose from but instead of that you start becoming negative on a forum.
.They will blame the d2 players not themselves
Of course! Fortunately we have the data that shows d2 players weren't looking for pvp for the most part.
-
7 RepliesNot sabotage. D2 had support cut due to bad performance and failing to meet sales targets its no longer worth a witch Queen level budget.
-
All I can add is . Was it worth it

4 RepliesNo they didn't.
