It's a great concept but just like many things made by bungie it's not thoroughly thought through. I say this based on the fact that you are allowed to use exotics in hardware that can still grant you the ability to use abilities such as overshields, which kind of defeats the purpose of this mode the point of this mode is not to use abilities or any form of overshield the idea is to use weapons only.. I feel like exotic armor should be disabled as well any legendaries and exotics that have perks that could cause ability behaviors such as rat king with invisibility or the exotic renegades hunter legs that can grant overshields even in the hardware mode.
Even in the same mode I have seen warlocks can still use threadings even though threads are an ability that should not be prohibited in a mode like hardware that you can only use weapons and abilities are disabled! Logically think about it right if you are able to use abilities from exotics and armor you are gaining an advantage over players who are trying to play hardware the way it's meant to be played!

1 Replynot a fan of that mode, sure ability cd need a nerf, but no ability ( some passive aspect work) is not fun

Having true 100% no abilities, including subclass buffs, pretty well went out the window with 3.0. Now that exotics and weapon perks interact intrinsically with the subclass. There's just no way they could unlink those interactions. Not without major system overhauls. And we can't even get the proper event currency to drop right now. A system overhaul of that magnitude is just not gonna happen.

24 RepliesYou realize there are perks like hatchling, withering gaze, repulsor brace, etc on legendary weapons, right? Also Bungie added a ohk bow mod for medieval hardware which turns it into temu mayhem anyway.
