It feels like Bungie has chosen to ignore Destiny entirely and treat it as if it's something to be ignored. We have no news, no new info, nothing of consequence in the game, no new content, and on top of all that Destiny content is being delayed for Marathon. Should we all stop playing Destiny now Bungie? It's shocking that you hate Destiny players so much considering we are the reason you have made literal mountains of cash.

5 RepliesThis Week In Destiny We’re introducing a brand new game mode. Touch the Grass, where each guardians are invited to walk outside, take a breath of fresh air and stare at the sun for the next 6 weeks. Winner will get a small feeling of accomplishment. Now, a word on the Shadow and Order delay: a word. Hope we’re not giving too much away here. Finally known issues: We seem to be having our fingers stuck up our butt for the last two weeks, our team is actively investigating the issues. PS: don’t forget to pre-order Marathon, we love you (when you buy from us). That’s all for now, see you Guardians

2 RepliesBungie clearly have nothing to say to us about the future of D2 at this point. There are six more weeks until Marathon drops, it will be interesting to see if they can keep this up for that long. 🤷

It’s Marathon! Bs -blam!- game that’s all they’re worried about .

Here is all the information I could scrape using A.I. search engines about next expansion and Chicago location. It's better than nothing. Consider these rumors at this time as leaks are frowned upon Atmosphere and Environment Old Chicago: its depicted as a decayed, waterlogged urban landscape where the Great Lakes (specifically Lake Michigan) have been chemically and ecologically altered more than any other place on Earth. featuring an ominous, horror-inspired tone with skyscrapers half-submerged in marshes and a labyrinthine sewer system. The Seared Tower: The iconic Sears Tower (now the "SEARED Tower") remains a landmark, where a figure (Leon?) resides. Locations & Gameplay Adams and Wabash Station: This specific underground station is a focal point where a mysterious entity has been attempting to communicate with Lodi. The Department of External Observations (DEO): The headquarters of this Golden Age organization (where Lodi and Ikora Rey previously worked) is located here. It was a top-secret facility for studying anomalies and alien technology, including gravity-based weaponry like the Graviton Lance. The Labyrinth: A series of tombs and crypts beneath the city streets where a "lost and maddened beast" (possibly an Aphelion) is said to hunt. Narrative Significance Binding the Nine: The primary objective in Chicago is to retrieve an "alien body" or essence hidden underground by the DEO to begin the process of binding the first member of The Nine to a physical form. Factions: While the Hive are expected to be the primary threat, there are heavy hints of Taken or Scorn presence as the entity "Every nothing" seeks to infest the decaying planet. I

They've gone from lying to us about "pvp strike teams" and future updates with smaller but "more frequent" content, to not even bothering to lie anymore. It's just ads for eververse now
-
I think the silence speaks for itself

1 ReplyI’m excited about Arm’s Week and I’m glad they communicate with us at all. I think it’s cool that they at least say “hey” each week.🤷♀️

2 RepliesOn a more serious note, I’m sure the rationale is just that it’s all hand on deck for Marathon, not that they abandoned Destiny. D2 has been the only game carrying the studio financially for years and revenues are withering, D3 is at least 5 years out, if ever, so it’s fair to assume Marathon is the life line, and it’s an all or nothing situation. Especially with the silence around future content, its hard not to imagine the future for D2 isn’t conditional to Marathon’s performance. So in a way, if you really love D2 you should pre order Marathon…( I’m kidding, I’m kidding put down the muskets please :) )

Making TWABS is hard....

6 RepliesBig deal, they've just released renegades, you're not bored already, are you? Chill my friend, and let 'em cook for best results If not, you can call it copium if you must, but a weak update release, or poor quality content, is just as bad, if not worse

1 ReplyBungie said they would provide a roadmap, something they have done before. So they probably made it, detailing all their plans and aspirations for the next year, maybe more. Then Sony says, "Hold on, let's get Marathon launched and then we'll talk..." Scenario one: Marathon launches, is wildly successful (or at least meets Sony's expectations) and Bungie gets the go-ahead to support two live games, Sony gives them money and resources and says "good job, go for it." Scenario two: Marathon launches, and does just okay. Sony says, "Meh, good enough, keep both games going. As long as you're not promising anything TOO crazy, you can go ahead with that roadmap now." (I think this is the most likely option) Scenario three: Marathon launches, and bombs. Sony says, "well, you tried, but we can't see throwing good money after bad, so we're closing down ONE of these games and we need to talk about your future. You can toss that roadmap out. In fact another 30% of you shouldn't make any long term plans and you might wanna update that resume and start looking for jobs." I hopeful we get the first or the second options.

Probably cuz.....
Marathon
-
You can’t talk about the road map or putting time in fixing the game if it is coming to an end.
-
It's not the Olympics but it is a marathon 🤪
-
All their focus is on marathon. Nothing worth a shít is going to happen in destiny until marathon is out the door, so you're better off ignoring it until then.
-
Probably thinking about letting the game sink down even further. How are customers going to trust bungie on their new game when bungie cant take care of their current game?
-
2 RepliesEdited by CHAN9E: 1/23/2026 2:02:14 PMYou already k ow what they're going to say. We're listening.. We are looking at ( insert player benifit ) .. We're adding to eververse. 'Something is coming that you've played every year at this time '.. Seriously.. nothing new ever, including content
-
Nothing relevant to say This week in Destiny 2, its still more of the same
-
When was the last time TWAB not being a nothingburger?
-
8 RepliesSorry to say but marathon is one of the top games preordered on steam rite now. So I can guess they dropped Destiny and focusing on marathon
-
1 ReplyBungie has Buzz Lightyear now…
-
4 RepliesMaybe they’ve restarted those knitting / crochet classes again…and are trying to stitch something together?! 🤔 Snickers… That is all. Ease Slings! 🖖👻 MTFBWY

Bungie is all hands on deck for Marathon, D2 is old news
-
It's simple if they post something too early then they have to change it people get bent out of shape... If it's not up forsaken level awesome or brick of text people get bent out of shape It's if it's not a new subclass people get bent out of shape if it's not a 90° turn in the meta people get bent out of shape I wouldn't post anything either until I have concrete set in stone changes that have been picked through and worded properly so that way it can be posted so people don't get confused and bent out of shape game development is not magic it takes time PR is not magic it takes time Cool your jets it's been only 2 weeks destiny is not your livelihood nor should it be calm the hell down
-
Dude what are you expecting?! This d2 now on a slow crawl to the end . Marathon is there main focus obviously. I only pvp now and agin suprised so many are still so devoted ? 4 RepliesPerhaps they figured that since the "community" takes all its cues from some half-*ssed journalist anyway, there's no reason to bother.
