ever since I started gaining t5 loot it has always felt like the Midas touch when it comes to weapons. Everything is enhanced and you most likely wouldn't need multiple copies of that same gun. I also think that tiered loot should be based on performance rather than light level. Here's what I would do to change them.
retire T1-2 weapons (for deep sight or shaped weapons at T3 will now be considered to be T2)
once you have a T3 option available you have the option to choose shaped or tiered (both at max level will have 3 perks for columns 3 and 4 with the whole weapon enhanced).
Nothing changes for regular tiered weapons, but for shaped weapons you have the option to pick and choose whatever you want just as long as it matches its archetype or weapon element unlike a crafted weapon back in witch queen to final shape where you had to choose within its perk pool.
lets say you have a parabellum but the perks are a bit out dated, once you have a weapon of choice for your T4 choice lets say adjudicator: you can have the next choice of column 3 and 4 perks like feeding frenzy and onslaught and if you choose another weapon for your T5 choice like a lubraes ruin with grave robber, bait and switch: you can have it as your final combination of perks. Once your weapon reaches level 30 you can have all of the origin traits you infused with your parabellum (field-tested, crossing over and soul drinker). Some choices may vary based on archetype and element.

Frankly could work on top of what bungee plans to do with the update on March 2026. Apparently they're going to add a system with a new currency that you can upgrade a tier 1 to a tier 5. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8f8K4w8/
