Focusing Undying Weapons at Riven issue
I tried searching and didn’t find anything, but I’m having an issue with focusing Undying Weapons at Riven.
I have unlocked the Wishful Weapon seasonal challenge, allowing me to get a random red border weapon I don’t already have at Riven.
The last few weeks, when I have focused for an Undying Weapon, the game eats my currencies, drops no red border and removes any additional opportunity to do so for that week.
It’s worth noting that I have only unlocked Adhortative and Optative, because for some inane reason, these weapons drop almost never.
What I assume is happening is that the focusing RNG is deciding to drop red borders for Subjunctive and Imperative, but because I don’t have those, it takes my stuff and tells me to kick rocks.
I wouldn’t assume this would be expected behavior? It should just give me red borders for the weapons I DO own and ignore the ones I don’t?
Has anyone else run into this?

Belive me or not but I just started to farm undying weapons (all obtained but no red boreder deepsight) I used 30 riven endgrams on adherent and 0 red border. And since I hated Coil I didnt progress seasonal till today. Not sure how to get them fast now

Edited by SpoilsXpress: 2/9/2024 12:59:21 AMTo get the undying weapons to drop as a guarenteed deepsight weapon once per week you need to complete a different seasonal challenge that has you kill x amount of vex using one of the reprised undying weapons already in your possession. This is also visualized by the icon of the random wish / undying focused weapon engram being colored slightly red and will stop coloring red once you’ve obtained all the patterns within that category. The most reliable source to obtain the undying ones you don’t have are the 4 secret chests hidden in the starcrossed exotic mission, at least 2 of these can be grabbed with relative ease, ignoring any enemies the second one does require you to have finished the mission / obtained the wishkeeper pattern at least once. For their specific location YouTube is your friend.

First: Unlike the wish weapon engram - the undying weapon engram won't drop unobtained weapons regardless of what the deepsight upgrade says. Second: the engram seems to break once you have the patterns for the weapons it can drop completed (and a weekly reset occurs after you get the deepsight upgrade) - so in your case you have both patterns completed for the 2 weapons you have obtained - so now it'll just eat your engrams as it is trying to give a deepsight but it cant so it just fails
