I know it may not look like it but this is a new bungie account I had to make more recently to play. Had account problems.
I know people dont care for these posts as they seem to be filled with complaints and people saying "see you in lightfall" but as a Destiny 1 veteran, I really do want to step out.
My journey began on an original PS4 back in 2015 with taken king. My cousin convinced me to come play it with him and his friends. At first, I was skeptical because it just didn't interest me but later i played as my brother had gotten a copy. I honestly wasnt expecting much but I was wrong. Who knew that this game provided me with 8 years worth of memories (took breaks on and off). Between 2 platforms, as i later switched to xbox from ps, I was able to meet and befriend many people who helped me on my journey. Because of them, It also helped with my social anxiety as it was so bad that I never plugged in the mic. They gave me the courage to plug in the mic and be apart of something. Several have come and gone but because of this game, I was able to make an amazing friend who I will be meeting for the first time in march. Both D1 and D2 were enjoyable up until Beyond Light. I wanted to step away but stayed til now because they wanted me to play with them. Im burnt out, i hate what this game has become but after all that, I cant walk away mad but instead happy that I have experiences that I will never forget.
Thank you Bungie for making that happen and thank you to the destiny community for changing my life.
Fight on and live strong guardians! Wishing the best for you all ✌

Bungies storytelling just went downhill into "Monster of the Week" mode. I'm going back to a game with substance and creativity, PaRappa the Rapper

D1 forever!!!! The Taken King of all games. See yah guardian. I am also slowly closing my shop. D2 is work; D1 was pure fun. Switching back to old model, will buy strand when the price drops and no more seasons. Like it used to be in D1. This set up sucks.

See you on Neptune chief

I’ve been playing since destiny 1 came out day one and I loved d1, then I got destiny 2 and played for awhile then took a 2-2.5 year break and recently came back about a month ago. It’s very fun again for me but it felt good to be able to grind out everything from the last year in a month 😂 I went from 0-165 rank pretty quick but it’s been a blast. My two cents you’ll take a break and want to play and when you come back there will be plenty to do and it will be fun again.

but as a Destiny 1 veteran
I don't understand why some people still continue to preface with this? It seems to be this weird flex that some people think lends more credibility to their opinion about the game. It would be like if a chef came out and asked you how you enjoyed the steak and you prefaced it with well I have been eating steak since 2004 and then ran through your history of eating steak before giving your opinion on it. Just give your opinion on the game without it. No one is impressed you started at the beginning. Destiny 2 is not Destiny 1.

Quitter…

10 RepliesThanking bungie for completely tanking a game you supported for this long is not ok. Should be holding them accountable for their mistreatment of this franchise
-
Lots of people feel the way you do, myself included. Many will say, “why do you need to post that you’re leaving?” Answer: quitting after being a D1 veteran should be a wake up call to Bungie as it is the ultimate feedback. That’s why people post it. They wish the game wasn’t just a caricature of what it once was. Now Destiny is driven by addiction/grinding instead of innovation and creativity.

Cheating ruined the game for you
-
Cool, but I don't think anyone cares about you announcing your departure or your journey.
-
See you February 28th!
-
9 RepliesWhy in the world do people feel the need or desire to post that they're quitting? It isn't like the game suffers from a single player leaving. This kind of post doesn't make sense to me, as chill and non-whiny as it is.
-
this is not an airport you don't have to announce your departure
-
Knock knock. Who’s there? Some suck-u-bus ceremoniously announcing they’re quitting a job…. Oh snap…. quitting playing a game. That is entitlement son!
-
1 ReplyBegone foul quitter!
-
2 RepliesFFS. Typical, pointless, long wet fart of a comment. Game < real life. Not hard.
-
It’s crazy cuz I haven’t played the last 2 seasons and idc about the next dlc I never thought this day would come but I might be done with destiny Been here since day 1
-
Don’t blame you.
-
This is the best quit post I have seen, wasn't whiny or salty about Bungie not meeting there personal expectations Someone who just decided the game isn't for them anymore, and that's respectable Good Luck in all your future endeavors
-
Same here. I just can't anymore with this game. The direction, changes, core gameplay isn't for me anymore.
-
Burnt out yes. This is how I tackle burnt out. DLC drop, play, season drop, play. Getting bored, play other games. Season drop, play....D2 is ok as long as you could get away from it from time to time to enjoy other games.

Edited by TheShadow: 2/9/2023 1:40:36 PM
I know people dont care for these posts as they seem to be filled with complaints
For a hell of a lot of legit reasons, they are filled with complaints. The game is broken when it comes to its structure and has been since the day D2 was released, and when you look at how this business has been using an outdated engine/P2P that has made matters really bad these last 4 years with them blaming everything but themselves, it's no wonder things are as bad as they are today. This business can't hide behind Activision anymore, and the fans that try to defend this business have failed for the last 4 years since Activision dropped this business. They can't use Activision as an excuse anymore either, but some will try to use other things such as " Poor Bungie" is using an engine that has issues", all the while ignoring the actual fact that they have had 30 years people with one of the biggest banks backing them up and they chose to use that engine, and they refused to use dedicated servers🤷♂️ Where I'm at with all this is, not even the "F2p" LF is even worth the time because it's only about showing numbers, and that alone shows they don't like the numbers showing that isn't a good thing at all.

1 ReplyI have not been on that long but feel the solo play is too difficult for one person to accomplish many of the real missions. I am already feeling like I've wasted my money and time I've spent on it. I played for hours and had to leave out of anger at not being able to complete the missions.

4 RepliesJust DL the ps+ freebie and hopped back on after a year hiatus. I've never known a game for such blatant money grabbing in game. Wouldn't be so bad if it felt fresh and innovative but yeah.. That ain't happening.

It was a fun ride! To bad this game was ruined by greed. They should've left this game alone after black armory, and started a new game.
