Make trials cards reset themselves.
Mercy cards will reset automatically after 2 losses.
Ferocity, Wealth, and Confidence reset themselves after 1 loss.
Count rounds won outside of the card for the purposes of the 50 round wins rewards or whatever it is. (make it to where resetting a card doesn't reset this)
OR move rewards back to bounties and have the bounty turn-in reward you the drop.
Finally, going flawless, Mercy card or otherwise, will lock the card allowing you to continue playing regardless of loss for more rewards in the flawless pool. If you wish to reset, you turn the card in (for another adept chance as is currently) and then buy another card.
Yes, this will cause pain points for people that like playing with losses on their cards. A worthy sacrifice.
EDIT: Dropping the flawless pool and doing nothing else basically puts us in the same system we're in now, in case that's not obvious. The only difference being instead of only having resetters to deal with, you'll have them plus all the people that already play in the flawless pool.

1 ReplyWhat about people just trying to get to 7 wins for rep?
-
1 ReplyRemove reseting and force people to play out the entire card. Thats how you fix reseting.
-
3 RepliesEh get rid of the flawless pool 👍
-
Lose the flawless pool. Fixed.

If I lose my mercy in the first couple of games I reset my card because I don’t want to be going into my 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th match without a mercy and so do a lot of other players. If they do as you propose all that would happen is people would throw their next game. Now this is fine if your in a fireteam and everyone consents to it. But if your running and decide to do it, especially in the solo queue then it will be far more toxic than the current environment. If you want to get rid of card resetting either get rid of the mercy card or the flawless pool. Neither option will please the people complaining about card resetting though.

Lol so now I have to spend a bunch of glimmer to buy a new card everytime I go Flawless?
-
1 ReplyAll that waste of Dev time just to reduce the trials population from 500 and hour too 100
-
3 RepliesThe problem with any solution is how to balance/ implement it when people have mismatched wins on their card ?

11 RepliesEdited by Althanash: 11/11/2022 7:14:15 AMDoesn't fix it really. If anything it just makes playing with other people less desirable. The problem isn't resetters in Trials. How you might ask? Look at the mode more closely. The same goes for the flawless pool and freelance. Trials doesn't sustain enough of a population to maintain both. To be clear it's nothing to do with winning or losing. It's to do with the overall health of the playlist. The bigger the pool the less chances to match the people up top. The smaller the pool the more often you'll see them. But there should be a matching system ajacent to card based to keep things stable. For example. Mercy Game 1 should never match Game 7. Edit: If you don't want me to reset my card? What are you going to do to make it less enticing to do so? What's going to make me keep playing through a loss because right now there isn't anything enticing me to not reset my card.

1 ReplyMercy cards can't reset themselves after two losses or these people won't be able to rack up their wins for rewards. That's how much you thought this through.
-
7 RepliesThere's two fixes: Remove flawless pool or introduce exclusive rewards for it that people can chase. You can't force people to go into the flawless pool if they don't want to because you don't want to face them.
-
1 ReplyI'll do you one better: get rid of Trials altogether.
-
2 RepliesThe real answer is the cards are now team based. If you leave to avoid going flawless during match the remaining players get the loss also. No way to get another person to lighthouse without going yourself.
-
3 RepliesJust have it where you CANT reset until you have lost a game. Simple.
-
The best way is to reintroduce trials adept weapons as “flawless weapons”. Any flawless weapon you earn from lighthouse inducts you to flawless pool every Sunday/Monday on whichever week the flawless weapon you earned is the weekly. What this means is you have no choice. Why keep playing? Another change- Earn new rolls of your weapon with wins on 7-win cards, or turning in a 7-win card. So, anyone in non-flawless pool still has a chance to earn it, as they will only be playing against players who have also yet to earn it. Essentially everyone wins.
-
2 RepliesThat could be nice. Or just revert to how the cards used to work. Can only be reset if there is a marked loss on the card or if the card has 7 wins marked.
-
5 RepliesFlawless pool is stupid anyways and should be removed Imagine once you do a GM you get placed into a new GM that you have no choice of opting out of where your highest possible power inside the GM is droppe by another 10-15 to make it even harder. Keep in mind in this “what if” you dont have any higher chances to get adpets or anything only the activity gets way harder

Mercy cards will reset automatically after 2 losses.
What if my team loses in an early match? Say we win 2 and lose mercy so we want to reset and try and save mercy for later games on a 2nd card? With your way I'd have to throw a match before restarting a card...

1 ReplyCould also add an actual prestige goal to the tryhard s for going flawless with multiple cars

Edited by A_mo: 11/10/2022 5:37:38 PMSounds like a pretty good idea. Then it could just count as many rounds as it usually takes to get 7 wins (or another predetermined number if that would be too quick) for people that play to farm their cards with losses.
