Not everyone are fortunate enough to have their own clan or fire-team that can assist in matters outside their own interest, whether it's a older Raid, Dungeon or Higher difficulty Nightfall. Some people just lack friends to begin with. Some like it that way others don't. But that is not the point.
Bungie, it's time you got of your high horse and gave something back to the solo players, give us the possibility to matchmake older content, like the Shattered throne, Gos, Pit of Heresy and so on.
There are so much content and like myself we have only skimmed the surface at this point.
The whole idea with a RPG or MMORPG is to have the fair chance to increase in stats and OBTAIN better gear without have the need for a private army of players.
I can bet my bottom dollar on that the playerbase would increase if Bungie would open some more doors to the casual and single players out there.
I have tried many time to solo Pit of heresy and i seem not be able to finish it. Why?
Really bad stat armor and lackluster weapons to begin with.
I watched a guy on Youtube that wasted över 8000 legendary shards on Master Rahool just to see what he could get. I have never even been closed 8000 shards in the first place. Every piece that need upgrades demands so much grind that i feel it's not worth it. But with a Matchmaking feature for the dungeons people would jump in , i certain of it. There are always people that want to make a run, and others can follow. No it's not the same as "guided" because this is matchmade and most people already know the route.
Just like Presage, i have run the mission so many times, just to end up getting obliterated in the end because of Sh*tty loot drops with bad stats and unfair RNG.
People run Crucible, Gambit and Nightfalls just to get better gear to be able to advance to high end content like VOG. There are so many out there that never will reach that far. Much because of the strict policy of the "elitist" players. And that will make Destiny veteran players drop of one by one.
But i guess that will never happen, cause if more players would flock to the servers Bungie would have a real meltdown and upgrading the hardware will never occur, cause why mend something that is already broken?
It's a real shame, so much content and much of it just wasted away instead for people to enjoy!
You wan't to grow in number Bungie?
UNLOCK MATCHMAKING FOR MORE CONTENT
Those who claim that will ruin the experience seem not to have played public events like Blind Well, Altars of Sorrow and Override. The work just flawless without people chatting on mic or typing messages.
Destiny is so broken and glitchy, and when you have to find other ways to play this type content the way it's not sopposed to be played. That right there says everything.
You want new raid gear, well if you can't get a fireteam together, either use a "boost service" or "glitch the game to skip segments to reach the bosses.
Those that feel they belong to the elite player group, well you have all the PVP, GM NF and VOG that you can play on the hardest difficulty and brag about.
I'm talking about just getting a fresh start with some decent loot so even a solo player can manage Presage on their own. Maybe that is to much to ask for.
Everything in this game cost materials, and without material you can not upgrade. Try getting ascendant shards without doing raids or dungeons.
Bungie open the door and let the players in for once!

Bungie open the door and let the players in for once![/quote] That ain't gonna happen. But last season instead of going without the vex another 30 completions i made a new free account. Got it first try, did everything except hard mode . Same a the ghally didn't and wouldn't ever get it. So i acted as a newbie to get things done. I took a week out to go to DESTIN. BEACH, I STOPPED&DROPPED MY WHY AND FOUND MY WHY. WHY DO I EVEN WANT TO BUT THIS NEXT YAY OF CONTROLLED LEVELING ONLY TO GET OUTRAN TO DO THE NEXT RAID ANYWAYS BECAUSE IT'S DESIGNED FOR YOU'RE IN HOUSE YOU TUBERS YOU'RE SPONSERED DIALED UP ACCOUNTS ECT. THEY'RE ALWAYS GONNA WIN THAT CRAP. DO I WANT TO SPEND MY MONEY TO ONLY GET TO LEVEL A LITTLE FASTER THAN THE FREE PLAYERS? DEPENDS I GUESS ON HOW I VALUE MY FREE TIME, MY LIFE AND WHAT I CAN ACHIEVE BY FINALLY WALKING AWAY. I CAN PLAY A FEW OTHER GAMES AND HAVE A WAY BETTER LIFE. MAYBE OKAY THROUGH THE STORY ONE IT'S COMPLETELY FREE AGAIN BY YEARS END. THE WITCH WILL STILL BE POSTPONED AND RAID WON'T HAPPEN YET, YOUR GETTING READY TO RE RELEASE MORE RE-RUNS AGAIN WITH A HALF-BAKED LITTLE SIDE BATTLE OVER SOME PUBLIC EVENT AREAS. WHOHOO. THEY'RE BETTER BE A HELL OF ALLOT OF NEW CONTENT FOR ME TO STAY ANY LONGER, 6 CHARACTERS DEEP BECAUSE OF YOUR LOOT CONTROL HELL AND I'M SICK OF IT, 6 YEARS DEEP AS WELL. ERIC IS RIGHT NEXT DOOR FOR ME AND IF THEY'D LISTEN BECAUSE YOU GUYS WON'T THERE WILL BE A MORE DOMINANT SPACE SHOOTER WITH LESS LEVELING CONTROL. THE BEST THING YOU EVER DID WAS WHEN YOU HAD UNLIMITED RAID LOOT. SHOULD BE THE SAME EVERY 3 STRIKES AND ECT ACROSS THE GAME TRANSMOG SHOULD BE UNLIMITED, SO MANY CONTROL ISSUES WITH YOU GUYS THAT ARE NEVER GONNA GO AWAY. YOU KNOW WHAT, THIS AIN'T WAR CRAFT BUT YOU'VE LISTENED TO HIM WAY TO LONG

I think matchmaking for dungeons would be nice. Most the time I complete dungeons with people from the Bungie app. The title of my post is POH No Mic, Shattered Throne No mic, etc. Then invite to game through playstation. GM you can do the same but most GMs require communication and correct gear. GM no mic thundercrash and choas have mods is a title I would use. My setup would have all the mods and elements for shields incase someone doesn't. Safe super also like banner shield for revives.
-
uhhhh... I would tend to agree and am the poster child for solo gaming on Destiny, but then you started with POH..... as I play with others I tend to play that with mics mute. And also comparing yourself with people on youtube.... that's youtube, you can just play the game how you want to play it. Just try "find fireteam" on bungie, some players are just obnoxious teens, and some are chilled guys who also don't mind helping you out. Take a chance and maybe you'll get some nice loot drops.

As a solo player myself, I'm a bit confused by your post. I've never done a raid in D2, but I am still able to get great loot, both weapons and armor. The way to get armor with high stats is through the seasonal content activities. Through that I've been able to create several builds. If you don't buy the season pass, that's more difficult to do but at this point buying the season pass is kind of a must if you are a PVE solo player. In terms of weapons, the game offers a lot of great options outside of raids. I do the nightfalls on hero with matchmaking and usually get the nightfall exclusive weapons. Yea, sometimes it takes running them like 10 times to get a weapon, but I equip an Enhancement Prism finder mod on my ghost and that's helped a lot with upgrading my armor. I've also been able to get most exotic weapons fairly easy through the monuments vendor in the Tower. When you do enough nightfalls you have enough enhancement prisms to just buy the ascendant shard. In terms of Presage, are you having difficulty with the version to get the catalyst? I did too and I tried doing it solo for the longest time. Saw lots of videos for advice, but couldn't complete it on time. So I used the Destiny app to find a fireteam and we did it super fast. We didn't have mics or anything and it went super well. Sometimes the best thing to do is use the social tools available to find someone to help you. I did it and I got the catalyst to one of my favourite weapons. I'll probably reach out to another fireteam to run Prophecy. I don't think matchmaking would work for a dungeon. Unless there's a lot of tutorial windows explaining the mechanics. And even then, it would still be very difficult.

Edited by AbsolutZeroGI: 8/18/2021 5:05:00 AMNo. Matchmade raids would be a literal nightmare. No. No. No. Stop asking for it. It's a stupid request. There are literally hundreds of clans recruiting in the clan section of these very forums every week on every platform. If people don't have a clan, it's their own fault.
-
Edited by thatdudeEd54: 8/18/2021 3:05:21 AMSolo player here who has every raid title except Fatebreaker.....while I would love more matchmaking options, adding it for raids is a pretty bad idea. For one you will find thta if someone leaves the fireteam, its pretty hard to clutch up on certain encounters. You have to realize that most people eho matchmake arnt always going to be as cooperative or spec out to your liking. In other words they are expecting a carry. Its fine by me since im used to it. But it does tarnish how fast you can complete certain activities
-
I sort of agree, but not really. Sure it would be nice to find raid content in some RNG loot pool once and awhile, maybe in specialized events that don't require fireteams. Like a 3day only special event you can solo and get some of that loot. But as for raids themselves, nah... keep them the way they are, with better drop rates for the most sought after content. I mean taking that much time, even with veterans, to get lousy drops doesn't make a soloist want to repeat the experience. As for nightfalls and dungeons - including GMs, all should have a matchmaking option. There is no "discovery" same ol stuff, just harder champs and a bit more strategy - everyone knows all these strikes and most have played thru dungeons as well. Downside, some blueberry that keeps running into the fire hurts any team. so.. some yay and some nay... but before that... fix PvP - put it behind a paywall or require that a player MUST have a PVE badge, any badge, doesn't matter - cuz players that play enough to get badges, won't be creating throwaway accounts to cheat with. PvP these days... is o u t o f c o n t r o l

Even if they did all this you'd still get problems. I play on ps and xbox. With xbox looking for group there's so many people without mics. That alone isn't helpful. Even if you do have a mic you'd be expected to join party chat as game chat is awful. Some people really don't mind helping others but if you don't know what to do or never dome something some people will just leave you. This applies to your power levels also. normal vog is is power 1300. Then you'd to make sure you're at that power level. They could make optional match making and I wouldn't be against it. Just the reasons I stated people will start complaining to bungie when it's no longer their problem.
-
16 RepliesWith all due respect to everyone... He has a point. Like his point makes a lot of sense and it would allow bungie to increase their playerbase and allow solo players with limited time to enjoy themselves. I like this idea.
-
If you want to farm high stat gear easily you can do the corrupted missions of this season.
-
Having a clan/friends to play the game with has nothing to do with fortune but more to do with the player wishing to play end game content. I started D1 day 1 with no friends on my console full stop. In those days Nightfalls had no match making at all and there were even certain difficulty strikes that had no match making, let alone raids. I made the choice that as I wanted to run those activities then I would need to find a clan. Consequence is there are still a core of friends that I have been playing Destiny with since House of Wolves back in Y1 D1. Not fortunate just a bit of effort. The tools are available but some choose to ignore them.
-
I would love to see matchmaking for the dungeons and high end nightfalls! Also presage etc. But for raids i'm not sure tbh. They made guided games for that stuff, but i don't think matchmaking raids is going to work tbh

I think more match making to be added to harder difficulty content. I don’t think raids but definitely all 3 man content. The way I see it is that it wouldn’t harm any of the current people doing the high end stuff but might help those who don’t. However, it could bring complaints as matchmaking obviously has its issues (communication, afk, quitting etc) and there are currently of complaint posts regarding freelance comp. But I think if players know this going on then this is something they’d have to put up with.
-
Agree give everyone the option to matchmake or solo play Matchmaking on all activities including raids ect
-
Hey solos, join me. Our clan takes in everyone and I'll play with ya, regardless of level.
-
Im not going to read this. Go find some people or solo everything. You have zero argument. Just ridiculous at this point.
-
I’ve got to agree, match making can be a good thing. I started as a solo player back in D1 just before Kings Fall came out. I played through all the PVE content I could and basically bled the game dry, up until the exotic sword quests. These quests or rather the last step of the quest had match making but were just hard enough to force you to coordinate with your teammates. This 1 quest forced me out my comfort zone and start interacting with other players via messages. This lead to me buying a headset to better communicate and this lead me to making friends. All these years later I’m still playing with one of the friends I made during that quest and several others I made along the way and they are the reason I’m actually still playing Destiny. But lately I’ve been enjoying soloing things again. Things like the dungeons and that mission for Dead Mams Tail. So while I’m for match making this type of content I also still want to be able to do it solo.

1 ReplyDungeons, blindwell and those easier activities should have "optional" matchmaking. Raids is a no, that situation should not happen. Just for the health of the game.
-
Edited by CurryGpuff: 8/18/2021 6:24:37 AMI agree to certain points. Raids and master/Gm nighfalls should never have matchmaking. Anyway Ascendant shards can only be obtain consistently from Master ,GM nightfall and master VoG. Not in dungeon or normal raids.
-
If not matchmaking, at the very least the game should operate like a real MMO and have a top of the line in-game LFG/fireteam finder system.
-
38 RepliesI don’t care what anyone says, having to look for a team in an LFG is a terrible way to find a fire team. No one should ever have to use a third party app to play a multiplayer video game with other people. Matchmaking needs to be a thing already, every other mmo type of game has it. The only difference with destiny is you shoot stuff instead of casting spells and using swords (although you can ironically do that too).
-
I'd be fine if they added matchmaking to Legend NFs, dungeons, and missions like Harbinger, I see no problem with that. But raids? Those should stay as they are. One thing I would add to this though is for them to not add more exotics that are too co-op/ team set up reliant. Rat King is fine aside from how long it took to finish the catalyst, it doesn't need other RKs to shine. Malfeasance doesn't exactly need other users to shine, but will shred that much faster for every user. If it weren't for the fact that most enemies die faster than it's perk works, it would be amazing. Lumina is worthless to solo players. Needing a few extra Noble Rounds so you can use it on yourself would be a significant buff, but people don't like the idea of a co-op weapon being a solid solo weapon for some reason I can't understand. So the next best thing would be for Seekers to spawn on either player's kills or extend the duration on kills.
-
Edited by Double07: 8/18/2021 3:56:18 AMBungie should make champion mods available on every gun including special weapons. Most solo GM lost sectors consist of double primary usage out of forced necessity.
-
I could care less. But they should TOTALLY make it optional. Even the harder nightfalls. Bungie is so stubborn lol. Thing is it’s not hard to lfg and find a team. Even dungeons like prophecy, I’ll jump into an lfg team with no mics and won’t wipe once. But yeah, Bungie.. just do this already. People have been asking for optional matchmaking for 6 years now.
-
3 RepliesYou got MMOs that have extremely difficult end game content.. Like, severe soul shattering content and take a realm reborn for example. Even the hardcore content has matchmaking and the majority of people watch guides first before they jump into the finder so they know what too do. Literally can do the same thing on this game but no. 🤦
