Swords are fun , don't nerf em , bring other weapons in up

Swords will still be fun, Lament will just do slightly less damage (because it really does a lot of damage for an attack that also heals you) and Falling Guillotine’s heavy will just cost slightly more to do bring it more inline with Caster swords.
-
By your logic we should just buff all swords to be as powerful as lament. What's next, you want the game to aim for you too? The low iq of this community never ceases to amaze be.
-
2 RepliesBuff stasis lol
-
We need both
-
2 RepliesBuff trace rifles.
-
1 ReplyWe need buffs not nerfs! SIDEARMS! RISE TO GODHOOD.
-
Eh, it's the same result either way. If they buffed everything they'd eventually just have to buff enemy health so everything didn't become too easy and it would be the same as if they'd just nerfed things instead.

2 RepliesSwords need to be given similar capabilities but more distinct roles. Adaptive frames are likely never going to be better than vortex frames because they have the same add clear light attacks and a crappier power attack for add clear and damage. Caster frames are neat, but that's all they've got going for them. Their power attack is way too costly and weak and again have exactly the same basic add clear light attacks. They serve no purpose other than to fill the gap of ranged sword, which black talon does better anyways. So it all boils down to damage and utility which only the vortex frames really have. Lament is top tier not just because it claps cheeks, but because it reduces the danger of getting in that swords are supposed to have via healing, while simultaneously having built in anti barrier and crazy low downtime between it's full strength. This leaves no value for anything but literally those 2 options and since swords in general SHIT on everything in terms of sustained dps, in solo content like lost sectors they are going to be the go to option which is the problem they themselves created by not tuning weapons and enemy health bars properly. It's like dumb ass reckoning again. They make us broken, they create content to combat how broken we are, and then nerf the players which makes those activities drastically more difficult because they don't ALSO tune the activities. And it's not difficult because it required some level of skill, you are LITERALLY not equipped for the activity because of the nerfs unless you find a way to still abuse some power in the game. So next season, when you are rocking lament and trying to murder the stupid poorly designed overload champions in the lost sectors, you'll know exactly what I mean. Unless you already understand how dumb reckoning was. This isn't me saying to just ignore any potential power creep, but going in reverse is an even dumber decision than letting us go out of control. Because at least one side is fun and requires them to create mechanics that combat what we do, vs just throwing bullet sponges at us that only the cream of the crop even can tackle.

On the whole guardians are much weaker in the second game. More weapon recoil, impotent grenades, less weapon damage, slower ability recharge... the less could go on and on. pump the accelerator! Power creep is a myth if we haven't passed D1 levels of lethality.
-
They won’t listen to a word we say.
-
Bungie has no clue that there are other swords in the game so instead of maybe buffing them they nerf the 2 main ones..useless
-
Two words. Power. Creep. If I’ve said them once I’ve said them a million times. IF EVERYTHING IS BROKEN NOTHING IS HARD AND I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT KILLING RIVEN WITH ONE ROCKET WOULD BE INCREDIBLY BORING <- this is an over exaggeration. But still. I don’t want to have everything be broken. I want to have to try. We play video games to have fun, not to flex things we grinded a hard activity for that was made ridiculously easy by literally everything. Or maybe you do. In which case, please rethink your life choices. Thanks.

Swords are fun , don't nerf em , bring other weapons in up
No. Only 2 swords seem fun to you, likely because “haha I swing and things die including raid bosses”. Overpowered isn’t fun, it’s boring.
-
Since they brought up stuff about underused perks and LFRs, this isn’t the last we’re seeing with sandbox tweaks.
-
1 ReplyBuff linear fusions,I want to use sleeper again
-
1 ReplyRocket launcher buff is great all I want is linear rifle get buff
-
2 RepliesIf we’re going to be objective, we need both.
-
12 RepliesOh Christ not this again. Most of the game is already a cake walk and you want to be making our weapons more powerful? There's this thing called power creep, look it up. If you just keep buffing things you end up with everything being totally op.
-
7 RepliesWe got a glimpse of the change and people's are complaining about OP and overused swords getting nerf....you kids aren't fooling anyone...we know why you mad and it's funny to the rest of us
-
that's the literal definition of power creep. Imo we are in a pretty good damage sandbox balance (par linear fusion and fusions) and 2 different swords were the outliers that prevented anyone giving 2 hoots about any other sword in the game.
-
It's was a sneak peak for the change for the next season....we didn't saw everything

7 RepliesEdited by TheShadow: 4/10/2021 6:28:18 AMBungie is a liar. They said they weren't going to pull a D1, and they are pulling the same BS they did with D1 year 1 after they sunsetted year 1. But it's a lot worst in D2 because it's not just weapons they are nerfing, it's... The venders they keep nerfing and have been for a year now When they changed the stats adding the 3 extra stats it was a nerf The perks on gear have been nerfed to the ground that exotic gear drops with no added perks. They nerfed event engrams They keep nerfing BD They nerfed the loot pool They nerfed catalyst They nerfed the exotic drop rates They nerfed gear that 99% of the stats on gear that drops in this game is useless The list is huge of things they have nerfed and will continue to nerf in this entire game since the game released, that they are nerfing this game to the ground again.
-
9 RepliesThe real issue here is how anytime Bungie announces nerfs, to clearly overpowered aspects of the game, people start whining how we only need buffs, not nerfs. The nerf here is completely necessary. Swords have been overpowered for a long time now, The Lament being a clear overperformer here since it's release into the wild. It needs to be toned down, clearly.
-
It is funny how quick Bungie is to nerf something in pve that it is showing the slightest of power, but take months if not years to nerf something really powerful in pvp.
-
3 RepliesEver heard of power creep? PvP is a sh!t show because of it. Of course it's fun to have a whole bunch of OP abilities and weapons...but where's the skill in that? Our guardians and weapons have become way too powerful, reducing the skill gap to almost being nonexistent. What this game needs is some major nerfs, to balance out some of the BS and bring skill back into the equation. And take care of the cheaters, of course. I don't understand why people are calling for even more powerful stuff, other than to cater to their delusions of grandeur.

6 RepliesNews of some buffs to come, notably Linears. LMGs need some serious love tho. Bungie pls
