Agreed! Us guardians, should not be pushed to the side as casual players. If you want sbmm you can play elimination and survival comp. Wait a minute, I thought survival comp was for the sweats and quick play was for the casual gamers? I'm sure quick play is for the elites too but to be matched against someone their own skill level though. turning off sbmm has been a nightmare for me as a casual hardcore gamer. My kd as a solo player is 1.15 but now it is 1.14. If I continue playing quick play, I just know my kd will continue to drop since the elite players are having the greatest time crushing all the casual players. It's as if Bungie wants to get rid of all casual players? To make their job easier to not fix their game with lacking and bug errors? Ooh! I got it! Let's remove (Skill Base Match Making) this will solve our connection issues and bug problems. This way of thinking is so wrong because casual players pay just as much money to play Destiny 2. We should not be pushed into a corner to play comp survival and elimination. Usually those game modes are for the elites. Now you have the elites in quick play and casuals in comp for (Skill Base Match Making.) (Skill Base Match Making) should remain in quick play too. Bungie should create both sbmm and cbmm. Give us the option to choose our poison. Don't make our minds for us how to play and just satisfy the elites and not the casual player. These stack teams of cheaters and elite players are ruining the game. You guys are tired of getting wrecked! Now you want to wreck the casual player. Then have us moved over to comp survival and elimination. This is wrong on so many levels. As much that I love competing in PVP, I have to stop playing. To sick the wolves on the sheep aka casual players is not right. The casual players are trying to improve their game in quick play in order to play against the top players. But Bungie, you have allowed the wolves to try to break our will from being good. I can feel myself being swallowed up at times whenever I play quick play. I'd thought this experience in quick play PVP supposed to be a pleasant one? Not a complete nightmare toward the casual gamer.

Let me start by saying if you’re not having fun anymore, than you should move on it’s the whole reason we play a game to begin with. That said however, you used the forge exploit as an example of them forcing how you play. That’s a shit example, you literally in your own words called it an exploit so of course they’re going to fix it, it wasn’t meant to be that way in the first place. Sunsetting is just necessary. The main reason they give is power creep, but it isn’t the only reason. The game can’t grow forever. Everytime they introduce an expansion where they’ve created new weapons they have to test those weapons against everything currently in the sandbox. See how that becomes an issue as we get more and more weapons? Also yes I’m sure there will be some rehashed weapons, but it’s not like they’re taking away guns and then instead of creating new things just give you back what you lost. You’ll get old with the new as we have for the vast majority of Destiny’s history. Simply put just because they said no D3 does not mean Destiny is soon coming to an end. They literally have the next 2 years planned out. I could see the end of that 2nd year being the “end” but they also said that expansion will begin a new era of Destiny, so seems likely they plan to continue. At the end of the day it comes down to if you’re enjoying the game or not. If not it’s absolutely okay to move on, my reply isn’t meant to convince you to keep playing. I just think you’re doing the way to natural human thing and overreacting to change.

I understand your frustration. Let me reply that i respect your decision and will support you in your choice. It sucks we're losing another veteran guardian but you've gotta do you. People will say good riddance or mock you for your choice. They simply don't understand that these posts are an indicator of what's going on in the game and player base in general. When long term fans throw up their hands and say they aren't going to be treated like ATM's anymore it's a good thing, but it's also just the tip of the iceberg as many more will simply walk away without saying a thing. The worst part about those that mock is when they say "GOOD riddance" or words to that effect, they don't understand that they're driving on the fence players, who read those comments, away too. They may think "Great, didn't want you around anyhow" forgetting about matchmaking and about how a game's success is measured in its player base. If they drive everyone off will Bungie still want to keep on with the franchise? Sad to see you go (though i don't know you) but i get your reasons why. :)

I am there with you brother. I am a beta D1 player and I am nearing the end of my road. The senseless grind is getting too much. The lack of actual content, too much. The constant bugs, too much.

I agree. The game feels so boring and after 6 years they've definitely had their chances. I imagine they will just coast towards the end of the franchise and try to milk as much money for minimum effort possible. I stopped playing 2 seasons ago and feels like I quit a crap job which was making me miserable or getting out of an abusive relationship. It's a shame though as the premise of Destiny is quality.

I read your post and it's like you've read my mind the last 9 months. Very well said and something I wish Bungie would actually understand. I quit playing 2.5 seasons ago because I couldn't handle the daily chores required to keep pace with everyone else. I played Arrivals the last 2 nights thinking things would be different, they aren't, same old 100 level grind, same bounties, same quests, same planets, same enemies. I should have known. I started playing Destiny in the first place due to the story potential and the past history with Bungie, but like you said, they've all but abandoned any kind of story content say for the first new quest of each season. This is all to satisfy the .9 percent of the playerbase. It's always been that way and I don't see it changing much. That they're not going to be putting out a D3 was a real gut punch and I'm not sure the new content coming out in September, Beyond Light, will be anything different. They say it will, but like you said, they seriously don't appear to be listening. The times when I do come back it's always something different wrt bugs though. Like the other night, my Hunter felt like it was moving in wet concrete. I came on here to see I wasn't the only one. Somehow in the release of the new season they messed up guardian movement. I'm not sure if it affects Titans and Warlocks but it sure as hell messed up my Hunter. I have to give this some thought about continuing to invest hours into this anymore as well. Thanks again.

I see even people critical of Bungie often go "Well they just don't know what they're doing, they don't know what's fun to play for us." Oh no, no no no. They DO know perfectly well what they're doing, this is the system working as intended. Seriously, read up on player psychology and how F2P/live-service titles are monetized. Them getting you to log in every week and play constantly even when you don't really want to plays PERFECTLY into their business model with this game, it's just a shame that it ruins the game for anyone who doesn't want a 2nd job. So yeah, don't expect anything to change in regards to the grind and drip-feed of content. They definitely know what they're doing, this isn't incompetence.

I quit playing D2 in December 2019. I paid for an Annual Pass along with Shadowkeep. Complete waste of money. I saw Armour 2.0 drop and then regrinding for armour that I already had was not what I wanted to do. Since then all the changes (along with the forthcoming changes in Beyond Light), FOMO and bounties have made me realise that I did the right thing. I miss playing with my friends, most of whom quit just after Season of the Undying. I miss the fun I used to have. I’ll watch what passes for the “story” on YouTube and play games that are actually fun to play. I’m sorry that you also feel this way. I consider myself a relatively decent pvp'er - not amazing, but I was hitting 1.8-2.5kds most matches before CBMM. I've now only managed to win 7 out of the last 30 or so games I've played. It's a sweat fest. I come on Destiny to wind down, and I find I'm getting angry at the game. I'm sick of being stomped whilst playing with people who don't know how to play as a team, k/d farmers or those who simply aren't great at pvp. CBMM only works for the elite." You will always get matched with people who aren't good if you are queueing up solo, that isn't new. [b]Go check the guys stats.[/b] His kd is 0.90, yet in the past few days, the majority of his games have been well above that. 17 wins 27 losses during that time. With 13 of the games hitting the KD that he claims he was hitting before SBMM was taken away. Just an absolute LIE here, as if he can't hit that anymore. Total bullshit. His total is 253W - 348W, meaning nothing has changed. Too many of you people are flat out lying about CBMM for some odd reason. Either complete ignorance of your own stats, or just following the herd. But either way, you should cut it out. We can see your stats and recent games and you will get called out on it. Bungie is not going to listen to a group of liars.

I feel you dude. D1 beta player here from xbox 360 to ps4 and now pc. Feels like bungie doesnt even care about us. Recycled content all the way to beyond light 😢 cheaters rampant on crucible. At least cod warzone did good againts cheaters by implementing a very simple strat.

You shouldn't hope people enjoy beyond light. lol I agree with ya though. It's hard to play this game now. I been in your position many times. I'm not deleting again. I stopped playing for the past month but started playing again recently. Not going to play much though. I figured I'll only play on reset and that's it. This will allow me to kind of see the terrible story being told, but make me feel like I didn't waste 10K hours into this game for nothing. It's a terrible game now. I wish all my xbox games could be played on my PC. There is a lot of catching up to do. A day will come destiny will be dead and gone and the story will be told. Just filler in ones pathetic life.
