Occasionally I will run into a player that absolutely refuses to throw charges. Normally the only thing I can do is chase them down and throw charges at them, but they'll just get rid of the charges and keep running around in circles killing ads.
Any good ideas on how to deal with this? I can't even report this kind of behavior cause Bungie has given us no option for it.
EDIT: A few responses here saying "he's helping me".
Ummmm....no.
Bounties, XP, weapon frames, catalysts - shooting makes far more general game progress than throwing balls, which not only progresses virtually nothing, but isn't as much fun. Furthermore, we are waaay past the point that forges are a challenging endgame activity, and no help in that way is needed. Third, there are literally close to 20 orbs on the ground, and while the phase could be ended in seconds if everyone did their part, I instead have to sprint around cleaning up these players' detritus to finish the activity.
So no, he's not helping. He's farming, which is toxic behavior insofar as it slows down the activity for players who want to finish it.

1 ReplyEdited by TheArtist: 2/27/2020 7:27:27 PMDo you want to be RIGHT, or do you want to complete the content and get the weapon you want?? As long as he's killing stuff, he's being helpful and Bungie isn't going to punish him even if you report him. With all due respect you're simply being controling. Stop trying to force him to play the way that you want. Just pick up the charges that are falling from the things he's killing, and throw them yourself. If he is killing things efficiently and not dying, he will put down enough enemies and cause them to drop enough charges for you to complete the ignition. Part of being a team is working TOGETHER. Not making others do what you want.
detritus
Dude... Nice word.

Just killing adds? My guess is he’s doing triumphs

Throw them at the forge instead of trying to force random players to do what you want be throwing them to them.

Probably doing triumphs, bounties and/or quests.

The original method back when BA first launch was to have 2 people kill stuff while one goes around throwing the charges. You gotta rack up time as well to compensate for mistakes and deaths.

not toxic selfish and don't even bother reporting it won't do nothing

Dude he’s helping you . Clearing add so you can toss batteries. It doesn’t take 3 players to toss it takes one .

Toxic post about someone who doesn't want to do what you want to do. Farming is not toxic, it does not take 3 people to throw batteries at the forge. Complaining because someone wouldn't rush to the end of the activity your way and saying they should be reportable for it; IS toxic tl;dr: They're not toxic; YOU are toxic 😊

Instead of throwing the charges at them, throw the charges at the forge? Just seems obvious to me ....

2 RepliesYou crybabies sure do love to use the word "toxic".

Nice Thanx for the ideas.

Only reason for me to do the forges is to get the Threat Level Triumph. Which means getting 500 kills with the TL. So guess what I’m doing.

4 RepliesYou sure you’re not just getting matched with people who have no idea what to do? Because the first time I did the forge, that was me. I thought if I just ad clear and cull the mobs, it’d at least be helpful while I figured out what I was suppose to do. We finished it with no problems. I get that it can be frustrating but this game isn’t just full of people who understand all of the mechanics of every activity.

2 RepliesEdited by Darth Lunchbox: 2/27/2020 7:16:27 PMThat's actually what you want them to do, as long as they are taking out the ones that drop charges it adds time to the clock and gives everyone else the chance to pick up charges and throw them at the forge. What do you mean by get rid of the charges?
-
1 ReplyThey're probably doing bounties, or working towards Triumphs. There's not really anything you can do about, unfortunately.

He’s helping you. You never need all players throwing charges. He’s farming charges for you and the other guy to pick up and throw.
