Bungie totally ruins IB again - thanks for “listening”
Yep, it’s IB time and Bungle drops a hot stinky one with the ever changing and worthless armor 2 quest for the season - the magical “get kills with weapons that you would never use” grind.
Oh, it’s all about “learning” and “growing” having to run up and die to get shotgun or scout rifle kills. But the BEST part boys and girls is that while your zone control and total kills are cumulative - you can’t “build up” credits for the weapon kills until the quest slides down the sewer.
So you are treated to having to the 10 rocket launcher kills after you have probably played 10-12 matches. How fun!
Yes Bungle, just spit in our face please after we complained about the ability kill bounty - now you put the worst garbage yet - you are dependent on special ( shotgun kills) and heavy ( rocket launcher) which we all know spawns like popcorn in matches ( Sarc is ON)
At least the grenade launcher kills ( the heavy of last season) could be done with alternate ammo types - but rockets? Fight for the spawn!
Yep - it’s not IB. It’s insane risks to get the kills time when you are not playing -you are chasing stupid quest requirements
If you had halved the weapon bounty totals or let them build as we played - I would have no issue - but this is middle finger to the players
So a hearty middle finger to the A-Team that dreamed this up. ( the team with the hole too - not the one that is good)

Didn’t know that was the last step. I really don’t think I’ll be doing that, let alone on three characters. So I think I’ll just get my pinnacle gear and be done.

Yep, I think I will skip IB first time since I have played including D1. Seriously, watching streams and seeing people seething is not my type of fun. I rather play.....Gambit....hahaha. Seriously. Gambit looks more fun than this. I hope Trials come back next season so all these scumbaggy tryhards just leave to hell. IB is Trials now. F this.

I was wondering why there was a huge influx of shotguns, Lord of Wolves, and Wardcliff Coil spamming on top of people not bothering with capture points and camping heavy when I started the questline. It was just so infuriating to finish the quest kill line that a few times i just kept t-bagging people or taunting them after out shotgunning them or stealing their heavy... only to realize it's Bungie's fault for "listening" to our feedback and concerns to not do anything about them.

Broken scoring in control, terrible spawn traps, dumb lockout rules, fireteam stacking, awful lag, exploits, and horrible weapon / super / heavy spawn balance is what ruined Iron Banner. All Bungie has done is basically nothing. And that's why it's going to be terrible to bring back Trials into this mess. Good luck with all that.

Quest steps that aren't based on the game world but instead arbitrary numbers is bad quest design. So the vast majority of Destiny "quests" suck balls through a garden hose. It would be far faster to count the quests without stupid steps. But, some idiot here is bound to relate it to skills and getting good. As if either of those things have something to do with the arbitrary number you're meeting.

I’m good not getting more useless armor pieces vs. another quest just to even have a rng chance in hell of getting something useful or non duplicative.

I've skipped IB many times, I used to love it in D1 but D2 IB sucks, sure it can be fun but bring back the different map types (control, mayhem) etc in IB, it was fun then, now it's boring.

It shouldn’t be steps but all available to work on at once. At least then you could get it done realistically.

Part that irritates me is all my pinnacle drops have been heavy weapons and the armor dropping at 960 when i thought it was to drop above the rest.

Let’s not forget that you have to handicap yourself to make efficient progress on the bounties. You put yourself in a position where even your Supers won’t kill in one hit.

I know to some hating on the game seems to be a cool thing to do. But to those that seriously are getting angry about a game. Simply. Just. Chill. 🤨 Remember, games are for us to have enjoyment and if this game is not doing that for you, just play another game. 😀

I think most ppl already understood how pointless is to chase, or, bother looking for pinnacle gear or light level at this point. Edit I think it's the 1st one that I'm not gona bother playing it.

I'm not sorry you don't like it don't play it. The game can't be everything to everyone. I myself have no issues with completing the IB quest. Sometimes being forced to use different guns, i learn how to better counter them or find something i might like to use. Anyway, sometimes i like the change/ challenge. Grow up millenial. Your opinion is an opinion and not solid gold fact. I know you can't understand this concept as you are raised to believe you are always right and that you can be anything you feel.

I don't have a problem with bungie making me use different weapons it's fun, I just despise the sbmm and how strict it is will not be playing this IB sadly

2 RepliesIt was 10 rocket kills. 10. Rockets aren't my preferred weapon choice either but you act as if someone shot your dog. 3 ish games for the scout kills, another 3 for a shotgun, 2 for the hand cannon, and 3 more for the rocket with Deathbringer. Hardly a time investment worth feeling mad about.

2 RepliesOnly part I disliked was shotguns, I never use shotguns I focus my efforts on shutting shotgunners down. When I did the pursuit on my Warlock the Lord of Wolves counted for shotgun kills and when I tried it on my Hunter it didn't count so I had to use a garbage rolled shotty.
