It's just a refreshed destination with 3 missions, some old boss fights, and way too much grind. Forsaken was overpriced too, but at least that dlc added content! 9 new trees for your subclasses, TWO brand new destinations with NEW public events, new game mode, much longer story, way more everything...
The focus for shadowkeep is clearly designed around Eververse and the grind, new light and Steam.
So far, I much preferred when Activision was around.

3 RepliesI'm 900 light and have no idea on what to do? To get the higher light gear I need different types of weapons which I don't have to do the quests....a quest requires me to do a couple of lost sectors but as soon as I get to the boss I'm contacting destiny servers then kicked. All the other stuff is boring like crucible and strikes and I've also done 3 nightfalls and I can't raise the powercap because it's too difficult I have no idea on what to do?!
-
2 RepliesYou failed to mention the raid and the dungeon. Two thing that probably take a good chunk of the development time.
-
Edited by BADMAGIK: 10/8/2019 4:06:12 PMThen it should be the greatest dlc of all time. I mean, you guys cry for recycled content daily.
-
-You're not locked out from the light cap -You can still go to the moon from joining a friend -You really didn't have to pay anything that you didn't want to pay for

That’s a shame I personally just play this game for what it is people looking for long in depth story you are still playing the wrong game it’s there but most of it needs reading I personally am very busy doing everything for this season and am not bored or feed up in the slightest bit I did take a month break during opulence because there was nothing to do there at all for me

Your concept of currency and value isn't great. But I won't harp on that. I personally think it's a mistake to compare Shadowkeep to Forsaken. Forsaken was essentially relaunching the game same as the taken king did for D1. Shadowkeep is far more comparable to rise of iron. Just with less fanfare. RoI was all about that victory lap. D1 was basically done but people wanted a little extra to hold them over till the next Destiny. Where as Shadowkeep is more like a beginning point. We pretty much know D2 is going to be supported for another 2 maybe 3 years before another relaunch game wise is on the table. I don't understand the complaint about "reused/refreshed/reskinned" stuff. It happens seemingly everytime Bungie decides to bring something back. I know for a fact that people like having old stuff brought back. The moon seems updated enough for me. Did you want a new destination? Understandable. But we knew we were going to be going back to the moon already. I don't know what you were expecting. Same goes with the "old bosses" complaint. Sure, I can agree that things feel a little less shock and awh because they've been reduced to stepping stones instead of the big baddies that we squared off originally. But we knew going in that the main "hook" was that old enemies were coming back. I personally like the implication these nightmares pose. It gives some personality and tangibility to the darkness. Something we were void of having. I personally think the word reskinned gets thrown around too haphazardly. I understand that the desire for playable content is the driving factor for most complaints and the other secondary complaints merely support the primary in hopes to give filling to a rather empty notion. But still. I don't think Shadowkeep is lacking in content. Some of it is gated via quests and the dungeon. Some of it is just time we have to wait via the season. And yeah that sucks. But realistically there is never enough content wether Bungie showers it on people or spaces it out. The only complaint I have is really the exotics. As that's my main gameplay pull. We only have 3 new exotic armor. Every single exotic weapon is quest locked. Which on one hand means everyone will get to play with things around the same time. on the other hand it kind of devalues loot earning a little. I understand the big focus is armor 2.0 and i've seen some creative builds so far. Build crafting is something i've always enjoyed so this is fine. I just don't think it was really the best call to bank on it so hard. But I guess when you make a big change like this it's only natural most attention is put on it. But anyway, at the end of the day the amount of content doesn't sell me. Quality while important isn't the biggest thing for me either. It's more about me having fun playing what there is and wanting to chase after something. Which Shadowkeep provides so far. So I feel I got my money's worth.

How is $35 too much for a years content?! I think its a very reasonable price.
-
i spent 60 bucks total for a years worth of content. I'm not complaining. If its really breaking the bank and you feel like your not getting your money back, request a refund and play a different game. I'm shocked how many people would rather play a game they dont like then play another game they do like.

3 new missions, 2 new strikes, raid, 6 player match made new game mode, artifact, season rankings and rewards, new pvp maps and modes. Sure, not as beefy as foresaken, but they told you that up front. Bigger than other dlc smaller than foresaken. Seems like a decent update to me for under $40.
-
8 RepliesNot sure about $15, but I do think that when compared to Forsaken, Shadowkeep is a little disappointing in terms of the asking price. However, they did make a large chunk of the game FTP. Doesn't benefit me, though. I take issue with the eververse pricing. It's so inconsistent, and in some cases grossly overpriced (looking at you empyrean cartographer set).

1 ReplyHaving been enjoying Borderlands 3 weaponry and then having to return to the same old stale weapons with the exception of that HC that shoots like a shotgun has made Shadowkeep feel like work. I supported the move from Activision by pre-purchasing but am non-plus about haunted moon for halloween.

It’s actually £20 cos the seasons cost £10 but when you buy shadowkeep it only comes with the season so it’s £30 all together. You have to seperate the content, such as the nightmare hunts etc are not season content and vex offensive is.
-
lol Shadowkeep was £10. With the season pass it was £30.
-
It's $10...
-
9 RepliesToo much grind? Destiny 1 had a lot more grind. Exotics etc were hard to get, now they are fairly easily to get. Not to talk about the leveling, which is not so hard.
-
Lol too much grind Yea right
-
You haven't played all of the content yet...
-
So was Rise of Iron. Do you want your money back for something that is now three years old?
-
1 ReplyEdited by Ultra: 10/8/2019 7:37:28 AMLol nah. If you think your money is better spent elsewhere then that's a fair thing to say but if you already liked Destiny before then Shadowkeep is a treat. The overhaul to leveling and building your guardian has extended the gameplay loop so much for me that I find myself enjoying things that were boring previously. This DLC never intended to deliver a crazy campaign experience. It developed the core gameplay loops in ways that will go on to benefit the game GREATLY going forward. If Forsaken rolled around with this armor/artifact/season system the actual game content would have lasted soooo much longer in terms of replayability. This season is the beginning of an arc that will span over a year. That is something we haven't seen before... So before you judge it you have to make sure you experience all of it. Also the raid is dope and if you refuse to take part it in it and count it out of your judgement then its your own fault for quite literally not taking part in the endgame (the meat of the game).
-
I mean if we want to get in technical dollars amounts it was 25 bucks or 24.99. The Season of undying buying it separate is 10.
-
Haters gonna hate. Maybe its time to understand the value of money. 15$ really you think its worth about an hour of your days work, and for many of us, even less, for all the work 500+ employee put into this?
-
3 RepliesWhats a post like this accomplish?

13 RepliesIn all seriousness I could not disagree more with what you've said There's the moon area that has the vex invasions. There is the vex offensive activity. There is a new raid in a new destination. There are also new ways to play in that you need to grind bounties while doing other activities so unlock to seasonal stuff. There is more content coming out this entire season.
-
If you're not throwing money at the screen you're not doing it right ppl. Bungie increase them dlc prices. They aren't following instructions.
-
12 RepliesI am just confused, because everything that they said we would have, we have gotten. Soooo if you didn’t want to buy the dlc, that’s fine, but I knew what i was getting and was happy paying the money for it. I really like the state of all games modes.
