Ok first thing I have to address is the Activision thing - JUST F**KING NO! -They made content exclusive to PS4 for a whole year (crucible maps, strikes, weapons, and armor). This was just bad for the game and would have been horrible for cross-save. -The amount of communication we have seen from Bungie has been unbelievable and that is something they could not do with Activision around. -Shadowkeep was 100% already in development before the ties with Activision were cut and thus this expansion would have come out in a very similar way if not more cut down than it did, so having Activision would not have just automatically meant a better expansion, probably worse actually. So let's move on to the meat and potatoes and look at why shadowkeep is not as bad as you think. We are not comparing to Forsaken or Taken King because those are on a different level. First let's take a look at pricing (which is your main topic): Shadowkeep ($35) -New planet (yes it's the moon, but it's much bigger and updated) -New Story (actually moved Destiny narrative forward) -4 new lost sectors, all feel much more like a mini activity (especially Revelations) -New activity: Nightmare hunts -Vex Invasions (pretty much new public event) -New activity: Vex Offensive -2 New Strikes -1 new and 2 respired crucible maps -New Dungeon -New Raid -New exotic quests So now let's first compare to the most similar expansion: Rise of Iron ($30) -New area tacked on to Old Russia (not a whole extra planet, plus the Plaguelands are very small) -1 new strike, 1 re-hashed strike -3 new crucible maps -Re-hashed, dumbed-down version of Court of Oryx -New exotic quests -New Raid -New Story (not that long and takes you back to a lot of re-used areas) Missing from RoI: -No Dungeon -No 6-player matchmade activity -No new tertiary activity (nigthmare hunts) -No lost sectors So from a pure content value perspective, Shadowkeep is just fine. your opinion on pricing i just that, an opinion. Are you a game developer? Do you know how much money it takes to develop new activities? New weapons? A new Raid? No, so everybody stop telling Bungie how to price their content. Oh I forgot to mention, Crota's End and the House of Wolves DLCs were $20 each and barely had anywhere near the content of Rise of Iron, let alone shadowkeep. Your value calculation is way off. You’ll spend $15 dollars to go see a movie by yourself which is 90-120minutes. At the very least you will get 8 hours of playtime out of SK content, not to mention the system-wide changes made to the game as well as cross-save being added. Plus due to how Bungie works on releases they are already working on content for the next 1-2 seasons as we speak. Definitely worth 30-35 dollars.

Shadowkeep is 80% D1 recycled content. Players go crazy on mission 1. I found it totally dumb. People talk about lore. I see no lore, just a very convenient approach to recycling everything. People like the Vex Invasions, I find them boring af long before finishing the milestone. Sure they’re not as bad as the nightmares, but damn we’re flirting with level 0 of fun and light years away from menagerie. People complain about pvp pinnacles still ruling? All I see is tac tac tac tac mida tac tac tac mida... The only good part so far is the raid, and most players will clearly not even try this one. Bungie tried to make the buzz, but they failed. Numbers are there. This is not selling like forsaken, which was far below expectations. The only great thing about this dlc is it continues to show that the most eccentric streamers and players aren’t any indication of sales level. Only Bungie can pay salesmen even when they don’t sell anything.

Couldn't agree more. Shadowkeep is so over priced it's crazy. Let's face it they could have released shadowkeep for free and just charged for the season pass. All they have done is given us d1 content and mixed up the order. Its ridiculous. Especially considering a large number of people who bought d2 came from d1. So we have literally given Bungie more money for something we already own! There is more content in the season pass. If you just take the season pass as it's own thing at 1000 silver which is £8.39. That's actually good. The rest is just ridiculous. Shadowkeep doesn't deserve the £35 price tag. Its smaller than pretty much every dlc. Just makes you wonder what on earth Bungie are doing. They supposedly had a year to work on shadowkeep and the price really doesn't reflect that at all.

Bungie has always been the problem. Not Activision. Remove Luke Smith, he’s is clueless and sell Bungie to Sony. Problem solved

I didn’t purchase Shadowkeep and instead purchased popcorn to eat whilst reading the forums.

All of D2s DLC has been weak compared to D1s. $20 for each at the most.

Shadowkeep is badass- best raid and going back to the moon+ red keep is great too. I have not grinded this game this hard ever! So much to explore and so much room for activities. Ppl that are complaining that its not enough probably havent even done 90% of the stuff.

Value is a subjective thing. I get to play with my 14 year old Nephew on the other side of the country. I only see him once a year, but we play D2 together several times a week. That's priceless. I understand the complaints. Bungie does seem to rehash old material, bringing back old locations, guns, etc. That is definitely disappointing to some degree. I don't see things like the Vex Offensive lasting long. I've only done it five times and I'm already bored with it. I don't really care for the Vex guns, so I see no reason to grind them for the God roll. I'm also not a huge fan of the Battle Pass. I liked getting those engrams every time I leveled up. I'm at level 30 after one week... Does anyone know what happens after you reach 100? I get that you can continue to update your power level, but what about the rewards?

I thought the same at first but to be completely fair they have switched their DLC model to releasing content over the course of the season rather than all at once at the start with an added activity or two throughout. Not saying I like this. I don’t and I far prefer the old model. I’m just saying that is why shadowkeep feels shit right now. I’d like to think positive and imagine that the DLC will be well worth the money around the holiday season.
