So... what will be the point of playing competitive at all in season of the undying?
Edit*
Added my reactions to TWABs below.
Bungie- “we have reworked the competitive playlist so that it is more accommodating to solo players and removed all of the unpopular game types”
Me- “YES... FINALLY!”
Bungie- “ we have removed any incentive at all to play our newly overhauled and solo player accommodating competitive playlist if you played last year and have all of that pinnacle weapons already”
Me- “face palm”

7 RepliesWell there is solo que for people who haven't got all of their comp weapons and with the new system those people may be able to actually GET to those weapons and obtain them, Is comp for high skilled Players ? Yes of course it is, but now these players who want to get the old pinnacle weapons done can actually do so, another thing is we do not know what Bungie considers a Fabled or even Legend teir player. Plus the fact that you can no long fall under a glory rank once you reach it means that paid carries will ultimately be snuffed out, or just much harder to do. The solo que however is where most of the grinding may take place, as to avoid 4 stacks. So those of us who a still working on the mountaintop or recluse or luna's or even the not forgotten will have a better chance of obtaining those weapons, hence why some are being nerfed such as recluses master of arms perk. These changes may not have a point for YOU, but for others they most certainly do.

4 RepliesExactly there will be no point, let the mode die. Thats what they want

3 RepliesThe point of comp is for organized high skilled teams to go up against other teams and fight each other for fun and bragging rights. Not a place to grind out ( or to pay ) for a stupidity over powered weapon that you immediately take into QP to pug stomp lower skilled players because you have such a small ego that you need to ruin other peoples playing experience with what is borderline a unfair advantage.

10 RepliesBlame the cheaters and paid carries. You had to see this coming.

Pinnacle weapons get you from 950 to 960 PL, also you can still get them, but they will most likely not be any good, or above other legendaries. I agree there is no need to chase them if they're not going to be any better than anything else that drops.

6 RepliesPeople were playing crucible way before there were any pinnacle weapons

1 ReplyEdited by Arlimes: 9/27/2019 9:52:22 AMI’ve really enjoyed playing comp. I actually prefer it over quickplay. Soloed my way to Luna’s. Soloed my way to revoker and recluse. It’s a LOT more enjoyable than the cancer that’s quickplay. Very rarely am I getting rushed by a bunch of tools with blade barrage and shotguns while half my team is afk in the back corner. I get to have actual gun play like back in d1 that made it a -blam!-ing blast. It’s sad that there’s no reward for grinding through it anymore. Edit; I hate autocorrect. Fixed spelling.

i mean, for all the pve player that felt forced to play comp for the best weapons, they are now free. They no longer have to feel like Bungie is dictating what they play in this aspect. For all the competitive pvp players, they are still going to play the mode. I think its better that they work on the game mode, then create a reward to incentive playing a game mode no one likes.

1 ReplyThe trash pve elitist cried to much

1 ReplyNon, I'll probably play Comp for Not Forgotten because it's gonna be much more accessible, but after that never.
-
10 RepliesThis is what happens when people pay people to get weapons for them. Blame the scrubs.
-
4 RepliesSo I'm wondering, what if you have the quest for a pinnacle weapon part complete, can you still finish it?
-
8 RepliesLooks like the PVE junkies won this round
-
Yup.. I was super excited for the changes to Comp.. now I will never touch PvP or even Gambit.. Absolutely no reason to now. Those player numbers will plummet.
-
If the playlist is populated, i might play at some point of the season, but i can’t see myself enjoying playing only Survival if i still have to deal with long queue times and laggy multicontinent lobbies, and not even get strong rewards out of it.

1 ReplyAnnoyed with Bungie. Improved comp with a solo list mode. Then turns around with nothing to chase. Comp will be empty.
-
Simple; there won’t be any point.
-
Just don't play it, let it die. Its the worst thing(comp) that happened in this game(from pvp point of view).
-
Another reason to enjoy destiny, no comp=less headache
-
I mean next season all comp is going to be 3v3 survival so I guess a good reason would be you enjoy it. Alamo’s as though enjoying what you play is the point of a video game.

Dont bye

Edited by Poop: 9/27/2019 10:24:06 AMI am fine with pinnacle weapon changes. BUT! I hope bungie introduces new armour sets specific to Crucible. Heck! I'll grind comp all day for Crucible related armour mods. Same goes for strikes and gambit 👍
-
No pinnacle rewards was bound to happen with all the cheating etc Maybe they could add badges for every rank and make an emblem which shows your associated badge/rank similar to counter strike
-
3 RepliesEveryone keeps saying return trials, but that's more or less what we will have. 3v3 survival.
-
2 RepliesThe only thing I havent done in comp is hit legend and was leaving it for next season to do solo, so will I still get nf?
