No there cant be another way to communicate in-game bc if bungie gave us a txt chat in-game we would be able to teach other players and that would mean we could theoraticaly use matchmaking in raids with the opportunity to tell the group how the raid encounters go and then had bungie almost no more arguments to defend their no matchmaking in nightfall/raids policy
