And you know this, because of your extensive experience with building and maintaining an online multiplayer video game?
Or are you just voicing your negative opinions of the state of Destiny 2, because you think everyone, "must," feel like you, or hold your same opinions?
I have an above average stressful career, which I've been doing for 19.8 years now. I use video games to relax, unwind, and as a distraction from the everyday craziness of my life.
There's very little that Bungie could do, to upset me. And all of the media concerning their company history and their passion for building games for players to enjoy, is enough for me to accept and forgive their mistakes.
If you are unable to forgive them, or Destiny 2 doesn't fulfill your gaming needs? Cool, hate on them all you like. But understand that it's okay for people to like things, you don't. Or to forgive mistakes made, that you personally cannot forgive.

Edited by Killjoy: 7/26/2019 5:13:28 AM@SorrowW0lf If you have been gaming that long you should realize that the current state of Dest2 from a pvp sense is a joke. I have been playing FPS games since before they hit the Internet, used to host LAN parties etc. and I can say with no hesitation... this game has a very bad PvP experience on PC. Every long time player of Destiny acknowledges that PvP is garbage. Compared to any of the other FPS games out there for the past 20 years the experience is pure trash. Peer to peer connections, rampant DDoS in comp (so much so that anyone good has to run a VPN client?), terrible hit reg, and I could go on... and FFS - lord of wolves taking so long to get fixed/nerfed? Realize I find the PvP experience so horrible that I would never play it... but the masochists at Bungie put items behind the gate of horrendous PvP play. They do not ask or respond quickly to feedback, nor they do not give us options to obtain items. I would rather grind through weeks of PvE content than ever set foot inside any of the PvP modes in the game again. Forcing your player base into a game mode that Bungie admits is something that they don't work on... well that's just plain idiotic. Having low standards and being ok with shitty products is only an enabler for sloppy coding and poor community support. Yes we all understand they want us to buy the next batch of recycled content... and they are working to polish that up. But if Bungie can't walk and chew gum at the same time, they need to re-prioritize and elevate their game (pun intended). BTW anyone notice the absurdly long load times in this game?? Anthem levels of delay in zone transfers! But you never hear anyone point that out. Perhaps its that the console gamers are just used to massive load times, but honestly its pretty bad. Just as its ok for people to like things, its also ok for people to demand a higher quality of product/service from an organization that is one of few major titles with an active community. Some people are desperate for someone to displace/disrupt in the FPS space, but game after game comes out and they just keep f'ing it up despite already knowing a formula that works (Div2 I am looking at you). Dest2 has/had major issues, but its the least annoying of the current crop with maybe the exception of Warframe, which I may go back to just to take a break.

All fair points. And I can't speak to the pvp experience, or really any D2 PC experience, because I'm on Xbox. I have been gaming a long time, 35+ years now. With the large majority of that time enjoying RPG type games. I really didn't get into fps games until Halo 2. And I started playing that a month before Halo 3 came out. Which also caused me to switch to Xbox as my main console. Still own a Ps4 pro, but my friends and my son play on Xbox mainly, so I'm playing D2 on my Xbox 1x. After playing Halo Reach, and then a stint in CoD for awhile, I played WoW daily for about 5 years. When my WoW buddies stopped playing I went back to CoD for quite awhile. At least until D1 launched. And the Destiny universe has been my main playground since. Does Bungie struggle at times? Yes. Do I wish they could and would patch D2, more frequently? Yes. But I've watched and read pretty much all the media concerning Bungie since I first started playing Halo, and have continued to do so through Destiny. And from what I can tell, they are doing the best they can, with the resources and the 2 game engines they have at their disposal. And I'm not a game developer and can't begin to imagine how difficult it actually is to development a game engine. So perhaps I'm just more forgiving than you are. But I'm sincerely, more forgiving in most parts of my life, compared to most people I know, so it's just what it is for me. Back to performance issues. How long, is too long for you when it comes to load times? I never wait for more than maybe 3 minutes, when loading into anything game space in Destiny 2. And maybe 30 seconds when it comes to the tower. Which doesn't seem game breaking to me. Having played other online games that have an average 10 minute wait for stuff. I use a fiber optic business connection, and live in a super small town, so I'm not competing with hundreds of thousands or millions of people for bandwidth. I also work from 2:30pm to 11pm, so most of my playtime occurs from midnight to 4am, reducing my bandwidth competition even more. Again I ask, what kind of load times are you experiencing? Sorry for the length of this reply, but just trying to explain my position fully. To wrap up, it sounds like you don't particularly enjoy pvp, quite possibly regardless of its performance. I really enjoy pvp. I don't play Comp much, unless I feel like getting a certain weapon. And I don't have any of the pvp pinnacle weapons, other than Redix. Will probably play some Comp in the near future, just to earn the pinnacle Sniper. And only because I completed all the non Comp requirements. But I really enjoy Iron Banner. I completed the Iron Burden emblem pursuit last season as well as the quest on all 3 of my guardians, already this season. I enjoy pvp grinds, regardless of the connection/meta issues. Well I think I've explained myself, so I will end by saying, "Have a great day!"
