All your Christians out there. What your favorite worship song and which one will bring you to tears.
Edit: I’m talking about worship music. Not Christian contemporary music. Most of the newer stuff isn’t very good.

Most of the so-called worship music isn’t even truly Christian because it’s so watered down in terms of the message(s) it tries to convey, which is why the only true Christians music, if that’s what you want to call it, is literally the psalms and hymns within the Bible itself. I used to listen to bands like Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch, and even went to a large non denominational community church where they basically played a rock concert and called it worship. The problem with these bands/‘worship music’ is that it’s patterned after the world to the point where you can’t even tell the difference. Everything about it is worldly from the sound to the lyrics, so I don’t waste my time with it. The other big issue is because it’s so worldly and 99% of the time it promotes false doctrine or very watered down doctrine at best, it infuriates God if anything to see people promoting false teachings, slapping a name on it, and calling it Christian. TLDR; so called Christian music is wicked and there’s nothing truly Christian about it. The psalms and hymns of the Bible are some of the only truly Christian music.

1 ReplyIf you are listening to contemporary Christian music, then your in the wrong genre. There are alot of different types of Christian music. I like the grunge/rock type. Skillet, Ashes Remain, Decyfer Down as well as others. There is rap, hip-hop too if you like that. People think of Christian music as one type, but you can listen to music that you enjoy and worship God at the sametime.

1 ReplyIn general, I dislike most contemporary Christian music. I always feel like they are trying to inject God into music, rather than put their music into God. As a result, to me it comes of feeling sentimental and fake. Music is art, and worship as music should be artistic. But Christian artists always seem to take some musical genre, and shoot God into it, like a cream filled donut.

I prefer the older music... ... as in way older... ... as in back when they were still writing songs in Latin.

Mostly anything by Hillsong, Jesus Culture or Bethel. Obligatory comment about Amazing Grace. CCM on the radio is pretty cringy most of the time. It’s all “oh life is hard, blah blah blah, worship God”. There’s no emotion or meaning in the music besides “Earth sucks”.
