Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 10/5/2018 2:17:56 PMI’m having trouble thinking of something, honestly. I mainly keep to myself, so I don’t have a lot of feedback to determine if and who may respect me. On a personal note, I’d like to think my honesty, with both others and myself, could warrant some respect.

5 RepliesI earned the respect from my parents by obtaining a job literally on my own. I was 16 at the time and I was thinking about getting a job, but I didn't know where to work. Then a girl at my Youth group told me about an after school program, I've always been good with kids and my pastor also said that he used to run it. So he would be one of my recommendations. I got the number to contact them and set up an appointment, two week later I got the job. 4 years later and I say that working there has really changed me. Heck it's the reason I'm at college right now working to become a teacher. And all through this my parents kept telling me they were very proud that I manage to get this experience all on my own.

Edited by Disciple4Christ4: 10/5/2018 3:01:18 AMI’m 4 years ahead in math, and I’m starting college two years early. I have six siblings which has given me patience....still working on it. I got my drivers license at 14, and I was hired for my first job at he age of 11. I got my own car for $3000 at the age of 15. I’m a busy kid, and I still have time for my family, Social life, games, and other stuff. I feel like this grants me a little respect, but probably not to some people
What is something in your life that you've accomplished that has earned you respect?
You either carry X amount of respect or you don’t. Your actions are either honorable or aren’t. Pining for another’s respect is a vain pursuit and is purely subjective and worthless.

I think it's the general lack of my censoring anything I say. I think my friends are at a point we're they are like "this is what he does and sometimes it's hilarious" and I try to be nice even if my jokes are sometimes well... Yeah... I don't feel like getting banned from bungo.

I remember in freshman year of high school I would eat at some tables outside of the regular cafeteria, and I had my own little group of friends I would eat with, and there was this group of freshman/sophomore girls who sat next to us, and a group of freshman guys who sat behind us. Keep in mind that I couldn’t stand the guys behind us. Eventually they decided to pelt spicy styrofoam fries at the girls and I was just done with their shit because they would make fun of me for being quiet and reserved. I told them to -blam!- off and leave them alone, and this dick named Alec decided to get handsy and push me into my seat so I shoved him back and he hit his table hard. I just went back to my table and finished my food while taking their insults and went to class. I didn’t get much shit after that but it wasn’t that much.
