So I’m not sure if this is a common mistake or I’m just a dumbass, but one step of the quest asks you to get void, solar and arc kills in the crucible. Death with reduce progress. To me, I thought you need to balance it out and complete all 3 at once. I kept switching weapons and subclasses every game to try to balance them out, because if you’re working on one and you die, all 3 will get a penalty. It turns out, you can work on one at a time, once one reaches 100, it will be locked and you won’t lose any progress if you die. This would’ve gone by a lot quicker if I’ve known that.
Sort of disappointed it wasn’t how I thought it was, would’ve made the challenge a whole lot more challenging and fun imo. Didn’t realize until I was ~75% on all 3 elements.

2 RepliesI’ve played crucible nonstop since Forsaken and I have gotten zero exotics or the chaperone quest
-
2 RepliesWhere and when can you get a quest for the chaperone?
-
My advice. Run all of the same burns on all your weapons/class/heavy until you lock in a burn. Then Switch everything and continue. I finished everything In less than 10 matches. I was kinda messing around and figuring it all out. Once I figured it out it just flew by. Realistically I probably could of done it in 3-4 matches. Lol

1 ReplySuper glad it wasn't that challenging. Having to juggle three elements at the same time would've been a challenge, especially singe you can't just change elements on weapons anymore. But, great tip!
-
I’ll use it in pve.
-
2 RepliesAm i the only person who doesnt really understand the point of acquiring the chaperone if you only play pve? Im not saying I only play pve. I just wonder why anyone would want the chap in pve.. Toadborne doesnt have nearly as much precision damage as it should against pve enemies. The thing is only useful in crucible and gambito.

2 RepliesDEATH ONLY DECREASES PERCENTAGE IF YOU DIED BY THAT BURN. So you’re working on solar kills, don’t die to anything solar. Rinse and repeat
-
Get hardlight boi
-
3 RepliesIts a trash step. How am I not supposed to die?
-
4 RepliesDoes the Chaperone feel slower to use to any of yall? Its not as smooth as I remember, but it's probably just user error on my end.

4 RepliesEdited by OriginalMrDave: 9/10/2018 11:50:03 AMThat’s how I did it. Just sweated it out with a fusion rifle of each type until 100% Just so you know a kill is +5% and a death is only -1% so even going out killing one, dying and rinse repeat it really doesn’t take long. Just make sure you’ve got that 100% locked in before moving on to the next element. Still nowhere as bad as the OG chaperone quest. Now that was rough

Yeah, the quest was a lot more forgiving in D2 compared to D1. But I think as far as exclusivity goes, it's not gonna be very common because precision shotguns are the bastard children in Crucible and I like that. I like that the gun I loved so much and worked hard for still won't be a common sight because of its skill curve. Getting good with Chaperone though, you're gonna laugh at all the dudes charging you with flashlights when you put a slug in their head from 10 meters. No shotgun can match that range, its even better once you get Roadborn, I've killed guys with Res 5+ from about 15 meters with it. Problem is, if you miss and score a body shot, you better have a follow up melee lined up, and forget it if they have a buckshot shotgun, you're done for. It's just super satisfying. And with the changes to airborne accuracy, it's even juicier when you can come down and nail a precision hit.
-
Lol I did the same before realizing it locks out.

1 ReplyActually, it's probably best if you do one at a time. Trying to bang out all 3 at once could take longer and dying would reduce your progress for all 3. Just get one done at a time, it's easier that way. Got mine completed in 4 games.
-
3 RepliesWhy on earth would you try to do them like that? I ran a Void Super, Solar Pulse and an Arc Power. I finished my Solar first, Void was 80%. Switched to void pulse then finished up arc. Took like 3 games. Very easy to complete.
-
It is easy to do! Boomp))
-
13 RepliesIs there a certain way to get the quest to drop? I know people say it’s from crucible matches or it’s random but I can’t get it
-
14 RepliesSmaller piece of advice. Try to pair this quest with the Ace of Spades quest to kill two stones with one bird.
-
I played very aggressively. Idk if itll help you but use supers. They count and are very helpful.
-
Oh, that’s good to know. I was about to do the same thing you did.
-
Thanks, was kind of hoping it would work like this. (not a big crusible player)
-
when i did it i just focused on 1 at a time. It took about 2 games on each element for me. I would also avoid using snipers unless your a god at them and you can consistently get kills.
-
1 ReplyThe only thing I couldn't figure out for sure while doing it is how it counts for the assist kills, because I'm assuming it did somehow. But did it go off of what you first hit them with or did it go off of what the other person finished it with.
-
2 RepliesOnly thing I noticed while doing it seems like different weapon kills give different %. Completed Void with a Sidearm and it was really fast. Did it in 2 matches. Did Solar with Pulse rifle and it took way longer. Did Arc with an AR and it was about in between. .I think if you kill with a mid to short range weapon it gives more %.

8 RepliesGood tip, its just too bad they didn't fix any of the issues wrong with the Chaperone before putting it in D2.
