Weapon slot changes have revived PvP,for me at least, the game is in a much better state, please stop complaining or this will just end up like it was last week. I understand if you're annoyed about getting shotgunned but if you're mad at that, I don't know how you would've coped in Destiny 1 with max shotgun shells, infinite 1 shotting shoulder charges, practically no cooldown on blink and 3/4 supers a game, you'd be in tatters
*EDIT:* I posted this after seeing 5/6 posts about people complaining about dying too quickly and being killed by shotguns too much, initially I was going to go into detail about this patch but I was in the middle of matchmaking for competitive so I just posted whilst I was in the midst of typing it up, I didn't intend to offend any people, I am merely expressing my opinions, you're entitled to yours too, I'm just sick of playing a slow game where people sit in a lane with 2/3 other people and shoot a Graviton Lance and act like they're good at the game, I want to be rushed by people using shotguns, I want to get into gunfights with hand cannons, what I don't want is for people to come on the forums because they aren't ''good'' anymore because people can counter them with weapons other than the Graviton Lance.
I found Destiny 1 year 1&2 PvP good, there was a genuine skill gap, so many people think that they're good players now because they can lazer people with a pulse rifle that sticks to people's heads, I've enjoyed 2 tapping people again.

It doesn’t matter if people complain. So long as Jon Wiesnewski and Josh Hamrick are the sandbox senior leads they will nerf shit into the ground. I really hope I’m wrong here but their track records speak for themselves
-
1 ReplyI like crucible a lot better. Yet I do think it needs some tweaking. The range on shotguns is kind of insane... but that’s the only thing that’s bugged me so far.

Edited by BoomboxCollosus: 8/30/2018 8:47:03 PM"Balancing" is just another word for 'making it dumber'. With the hundreds of online PVP games, Destiny is STILL screwing up it's core gameplay by trying to compete in 2 markets and failing at both. In Halo, PVP was a side note and was a standalone experience apart from PVE. It was fun because of that. THIS is where they CONSTANTLY fail with Destiny. It's like Bungie just ignores everything they learned from Halo which waters down BOTH experiences and makes Destiny an ongoing, unstable joke and a cliche of identity crisis in the industry. 8 years of overall development and they still don't know what the core experience is. Just groanfully sad. Halo would have utterly failed with this current staff and leadership.

Stop complaining about complainers.

Mmmm I'm interested in how pve will be balanced going forward. Now that we have massive dps boosts from the new weapon loadout and increased damage. Will bosses be maximum bullet sponges and force specific max dps loadouts? Or will enemies HP remain largely the same, allowing us to trivialize content with our now more readily available and powerful weapons?

don't worry in about a month the nerfs will start in a vain attempt to satiate everyone and D2 will be left broke AF like D1.

All i get from reading the comments are...this community is never happy, personally i find it a good thing it's not only primary in PvP anymore makes it a lot more diverse and fun to play in general primary only was boring just 2 teams camping a lane and shooting away at eachother half the time, and before anyone complains even...primaries are still very viable and good now there's just more options than "graviton lance" finally, as for PvE an improvement as well in my opinion as now we finally have more options in how we fight not just primaries and 1 heavy..now i can go back to for example a D1 loadout with 1 primary, 1 special, 1 heavy, but this still gets me confused on why everyone complains...they don't force you to have 1 of each..you want double primary..go ahead, you want double shotgun...why not? double sniper sure, just so many fun and silly combinations you can make now and people still complain...

3 RepliesTo counter shotguns remember people Primary headshots Travelers judgement New City/Antiope/The Vision/Ikelos SMG Your own shotgun Fusion rifles Bait and strategy. VW and GL users are in Meta purgatory much like the Thorn/TLW users and Vex users were in after gagging on that meta rooster. They dont use cover. They stand in the open. they rely on teamshots. They utilize no movement. With new weapon options in the game they dont know what to do and what range they can fight in. I'm enjoying this new crucible.

24 RepliesThis game finally feels like a Destiny sequel for the first time since launch. If you're complaining you aren't a real destiny fan and you should find a new game to play.

9 RepliesI think PvP is in the best spot personally. I love how guns require skill now and I can mess around with a multitude of weapons. I’ve found some good ones that would never have been touched with the last slow ttk, teamshot, graviton lance meta. I don’t have much of a problem with killing people who have the shotguns equipped and all. Only thing I hate is the obnoxious colony still.
-
Only issues i've noticed are matching is still whatever, and this update is definitely EXTRA laggy. Other than that it's way more fun than it used to be.
-
my $0.02. Definitely need to get used to the new system, but we were playing crucible last night. It was amazing, felt fresh, people actually using different weapons. Felt like D1 all over again.
-
21 RepliesI agree. Just shut the hell up already. What a bunch of pussies. PvP is fine. Most of the stuff I see people complaining about can be explained away with a lack of skill. Git gud. Or don't play. I don't care. Just shut up.
-
I think the crucible is in a decent place right now. I've had some of the matches where the players are shotgun crazy, but that's not most matches or most players. I can no longer go into god mode with my Graviton, but it still does well. More balance and more weapon selection is a good thing.

Thank you for this. Adapt & evolve. Am loving the new changes. Having a lot more fun in PvP ^_^
-
The new sandbox is refreshing.

1 ReplyHere’s the thing: You have increased speed. You have low ttk. You have more viable weapons. You have affective grenades. So you have two good options: 1. Stand back with a scout, pulse, or sniper. Or... 2. Run around like a freakin mad man with ANY short range weapon and kill as many bastards as you can until you go down. Stop holding hands and adjust. The “tap somebody in the toe and hide while your team does the rest of the work while you still get credit” days are FINALLY over. The crucible was boring as hell and had become stagnate. Now it’s fun. Now you have a plethora of viable options. Find the one that you can land headshots with and go pop some balloons.
-
I’m trash at pvp an still having more fun than ever. I’d rather people be running around with shoulder charge and shotguns than laning with graviton lance and v-wing.

Pvp in destiny has always been garbage this is just the next layer

Gg! Shaxx: Spread that Wild Light Guardian!

The problem is that Bungie is definitively bad at balancing the crucible, they ALWAYS have been 'Destiny 1 had it right" Really? At which point? It's constantly been patched and repatched over and over doing really nothing but shifting power from one meta to another so at which point was it good? Let's not forget that each patch affects not only the Crucible but the entire game. "adapt and evolve" yeah, no shit, you don't really have a choice, Destiny has a thousand guns but less than 30 are of any actual use at a given time, another update those are basically useless and a new 30 take it's place, it never actually get's "better" or "worse" just power changing hands. Mixing this with the system it's built on makes everything inconsistent to begin with, toss a bit lag in with it and everything's now up in the air, whether you like it now, or like it then it doesn't matter, Destiny's PVP has always been liked by some and hated by most, Less than half the entire player base even bothers to play it at all and about a third to half of those players are only there for the milestones and events, those numbers will never get any better either, Bungie knows this, it's why they're shoving so much incentive into PvP to get people to play it. The number of people who play because it's "fun" is small compared to the number of people that play because it's part of progression or they're chasing after an incentive like a Catalyst, a weapon or an armor set which is comparatively small itself to the number of people who play PvE and never play crucible at all. Until Bungie finally manages to permanently fix PvP (Which they never will, it's been 5 years already, if you're not going to get by now, you're just not going to get it at all) Complaints will continue to pour in like they always have and Bungie will continue to patch as a knee jerk reaction to those complaints.

Edited by Circadian Wolf: 8/30/2018 3:56:10 PMAgreed, tired of all the D2 noobs who have no idea how to check corners or steer clear of sniper lanes. The phrase git gud has never been more apt.

1 ReplyI use Nameless midnight and Galliard-42 . I hold my own some matches and get taken by shotguns other matches. I just surprised I don't see the Galliard-42 used more often. I think it's one of the best guns in the game.
