2 RepliesEdited by Deadly1ceAwoken: 11/30/2017 8:34:15 PMThe reason i say fixed perks are a problem is because of the very small loot pool. I would agree that fixed perks would be fine if the loot pool was much much bigger. But it's so small that it needs random perks to create diversity. Not only that but much more different perks. This is the biggest problem with D2.

Edited by iRaux: 12/2/2017 6:00:18 PMthe issue isn't static rolls or random rolls its how set rolls have been implemented for example in d1 the problem was many players never experienced the full potential of a weapon because they never got a god roll for said archetype or weapon. In d2 the issue is that you get a weapon and if its not optimal in its archetype its trash period. the fix is a balance taken king had it right albeit the weapons from that raid were poor for their archetypes they all had set rolls with 3 or so variations. i.e yes we all ended up choosing doom of chelchis with full auto or smite of merain with firefly but that's because the other rolls were useless if we had 3 viable rolls we wouldnt have gone for 1. what we want is two or 3 viable options for a weapon i.e i might not have the explosive rounds better devils but i got the moving target one or opening shot one id still want the explosive rounds version but each variation would have meaning and a different optimal scenario. At the moment they've got a limited number of perks and seem to like not doing variations so they can release an alternate gun in the same archetype with a alternate perk but this limits the loot pool what if i want to try moving target with better devils base stats or explosive rounds with judgments at the moment that kind of limitation is crippling variation furthermore the weapon foundries are all missing archetypes currently. i.e Suros only make adaptive autos and pulse rifles whereas in d1 they had higher impact autos and also lower impact pulses. This also kills the pool because if i know every Omolon auto is a dominant precision frame why use Suros or Hakke autos. bring back all archetypes across foundries and take into consideration what i said above about variation and set rolls can work the implementation is just way off as is

The reason for fixed perks is laziness. People will have you believe it's much better, but ask yourself from a pve perspective which is better. No one who only played pve complained about God rolls. Pve is the majority. Yet the pvp community always gets what they want. Pocket infinity? Nerfed. Shotguns? Nerfed. Snipers? Nerfed. Every month they would tune weapons because they would get on the forums and see that in pvp this weapon is op. Pve players always get shafted. You pick an amazing load out that you love to run, month later it's no longer viable because people cry about it. Then Bungie will tell you it wasn't our intent to have everyone use the same load out so we're changing things. Oh yeah? What's the meta in crucible? Mida/nameless/uriels? How is that any different? The sheer stupidity of making you choose between snipers, shotguns or rockets is beyond comprehension. If you're running a nightfall, the mojito will choose rockets. This leave shotguns and snipers very underutilized. Why did they even eliminate the intelligence, discipline and strength? That was such an awesome idea. Yet they decided mobility, defense and how fast you gain health is a better option. I think they made some terrible choices.

Working for me!😁

Random rolls destroyed creativity. You didn't have the Judgement 4 you had generic gun X.
-
The system is nice in theory, but in practice I think the Mods should be Weapon Perks

1 ReplyBungie hates you and is the authority on fun.

I don't get it they insist with static rolls and with a weapon system that is NOT WORKING.
Basically the game is all duplicates after a very short time span. Literally sharding everything because it's dropped before.... Then you think, what am I chasing? Where is the loot? And you stop playing, like the majority of D2's player base.....

3 RepliesEdited by RoseScythe: 12/1/2017 12:15:48 AMNot working for you. Static rolls are here to stay. The sooner you accept it, the better.

cuz they lazy af

1 ReplyWhy? Because the Destiny development team (and Bungie as a whole) really wants an E-sport PvP game like they had with Halo. They WANT a "Destiny World Tournament". Every change that Destiny 2 has reflects that desire.

3 RepliesA static roll opens up for more armor and weapons in therory.

1 ReplyBungie hates you for not realizing their vision of Destiny.
-
They need to drastically improve the mod pool.

1 ReplyBecause people wanted them to be able to nerf specific weapons. They could only do that to the entire weapon tree because they had randomized perks. Now with static perks they can nerf individual weapons. Does that answer your question?

because Mc Donald's is more successful than Burger King.

2 ReplieseSports, that’s why.

1 ReplyStatic rolls were put in to make it easier to balance individual weapons apparently, but we still have to wait months for a QoL update before they do any balancing?!?! It literally makes no sense whatsoever if you ask me, it’s all smoke and mirrors again with another timely “we’re listening” update just before a DLC release in order to boost sales. Fool me once Bungie...

2 RepliesStatic rolls are fine we just need more guns.
-
Because the more boring the weapon and armor perks the easier it is to balance PvP. It's ruins pve but they don't seem to care.
-
3 RepliesBecause filthy casuals whining about Random Rolls. Filthy casuals want to show up and play for an hour a week and want the same God Roll weapon as dedicated players that work to earn better Rolled weapons. Filthy casuals are the sole reason Destiny 2 is shallow watered-down garbage.

Edited by Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 12/2/2017 5:16:01 AMIts working perfectly actually... to balance PvP. Which is the entire reason we have static rolls... along with every change that made the game suck If you like PvE? Well suck a dick I guess

It removes RNG elements. While some weapons are doomed to be duds from the start. It protects entire archetypes from being nerfed into the ground (D1 auto rifles anyone).
-
To make PvP easier to balance. It worked they balanced the fun rite out of the game.

44 RepliesEdited by Dano2point0: 11/30/2017 2:44:26 PMFixed rolls are better for the health of the game for a few reasons: 1) It gives players a reason to pick weapon X over weapon Y because of a featured perk or combination of perks. 2) Random rolls create the illusion of diversity. The reality is that top tier perks rise to the top so you just end up with all the weapons in a class looking exactly like one another with the only difference being their base stats. 3) It will make it easier to balance when you can control the performance of a weapon that you don't have to account for hundreds of variables but only a few. Speaking as a collector in D1 and D2, I much prefer the D2 system. Random rolls are exhausting to deal with and I don't miss it one bit. I think the fine-tuning mechanism that they are working on is a reasonable middle ground to give players some control over a stat but not too much.
