As a Father of two, I️ know that I️ only CATCH my kids lying about 25% of the time (anecdotal) and that they are only getting better at it as time goes on.
Now correct me if I️ am wrong... we as a community have now caught Bungie lying directly to our collective face 3 times.
1 - The weapon balance patch in which auto rifles were “intentionally” buffed by 0.04%
2 - The SBMM disaster.
3 - XP throttling
A shaky 4th would be the lie of omission about the fact that they doubled the required XP to gain a post lvl 20 rank
Bungie keeps proving themselves to be the opposite of a trustworthy company.
Does Bungie need to make money? Of course they do, it is a business BUT the difference between a GOOD company and a BAD company is that the GOOD company makes profits off of high quality products and caring for their product and their consumers.
A BAD company attempts to use shortcuts, exploits, lies and excuses to trick/coerce their consumers to give them more money.
Now... you tell me
Is Bungie behaving like a GOOD company or a BAD one?
EDIT 1:
The XP lie was a combination of omitting pertinent gameplay information and intentionally not representing the lose of XP in the UI.
EDIT 2:
Keep the list growing everyone, I keep seeing more and more lies that I forgot about, a truly disheartening pattern of behavior by one of the most renowned studios in gaming history.
EDIT 3:
I am very glad they have cancelled the stream tomorrow in light of community concerns. I don’t expect it BUT I hope that they do a no BS blog post that addresses our concerns and at least acknowledges the fact that they screwed up.
Here is hoping next week is a better week for this community than the last!

4 RepliesWell, for me, if I owned a company, I would do my best to maximize the effectiveness of the bare minimum while trying to achieve maximum profit. I wouldn't sell it for a normal price, but I would sell it at a slightly lower price than my competitors, but make a higher quantity, but lower quality. I would do all I can to make it so I make profit. If a shortcut generates profit compared to a more noble way, I'd take the shortcut. If I had to lie to my consumer base so they would buy more of my product, I would make lies that sounded like truths. Is it scummy? Of course it is, but it provides the most profit. I have mad respect for businesses that do things the noble way and try to provide the best product they can while also trying to generate profit. These are the businesses I personally support because I know that I get what I'm paying for. However, companies tend to take shortcuts that generate more profit because the main goal of a business is to make profits, if the cost doesn't outweigh the benefits.

You forget about Bungie promising to respect Player time investment and not leaving anything behind. Simple thing , Bungie is a lying company and choose to build on customer relations directly through advertising. It is your fault if you continue to trust them and buy their products.

4 RepliesHey don't forget the hidden content and areas hidden away on the D1 launch disc behind a dlc paywall. They called it a dlc when in fact it was 100mb unlock. Or when they ninja nerfed sparrows (bandit and robber) and said the didnt; just ahead of sparrow racing when it was feared that we were gonna boost like mad and have an unfair advantage. Even if the reason was legit. A lie is a lie regardless.

3 RepliesRemember when they were doing a demo, guy lands near the cars outside the wall . Turns around and throws a grenade proclaiming " all that is playable terrain " that's a really big lie
-
There's a thin line between outright lying and being deceitful. Doing something that negatively impacts players without disclosing it is Bungies true forte.
-
It's a similar situation to Destiny 1, everyone's better off waiting for the complete edition once they overhaul the game with DLC3. Now all I see is them offering free trials to attract new players rather than fix the game..

I think you forgot about the lie Bungie told at E3 just before the release of D1. ( if you can see it you can go there)

Question is which part of BungoVision is it doing this? Bungie or Activision? My money is on Activision personally

Edited by Eqitx: 11/28/2017 8:18:50 AMBe smart and don't buy both dlcs. Learn the lesson if fool enough to buy the full package: once dlc 3 will be released ignore it and play better games. Check the forums for a couple weeks. Is it like now? Save your money then, you will simply join the disappointed group

skill based match making ? :D i have never seen it .

20 Replies"you can go there" biggest lie they ever told.

5 RepliesNone of those things is a lie. Bungie shouldn't need to hold your hand and explain things as if you were four years old.

2 RepliesThe lies began at GDC while Joe Staten was envisioning a completely different, vastly superior game to the rest of the studio and continued from there on. Hardly blame him and Marty for leaving. God, remember when Destiny genuinely seemed like a good game? Right up until one second before they showed the first E3 demo.
