It would be really convenient for destiny 2 players, especially active ones that tend to receive a lot more loot Engrams, to have a shooting range either at the farm or the tower or in both locations.
Firstly, this would help us test new rewards to determine whether to use them over currently equipped ones. This would involve testing their damage input, efficiency, recoil etc.
Secondly, it would save a lot of destiny 2 players the frustration and time wasted having to fly to a planet to test a weapon.
Thirdly, it will most definitely help players avoid destroying or fusing weapons that were otherwise would have been preferred by that player if it was tested.
I understand that you can compare the stats of weapons for a more general sense of differences between weapons but this would give a more hands on and practical experience of that difference to support a more informative decision making process.
Let me know what you guys think and I would really appreciate a response from bungie.

It would be nice if they added this using crucible robots by Shaxx as targets. And also give you the option to adjust the robot’s resilience and distance to test Time To Kill and range drop off.

2 RepliesJust take a few out on patrol (you have 9 slots for each) and vault them via the app, or even don't bother going to the tower and take them out via the app. Seems unnecessary being that there are several more important improvements that could be made to the game.
-
1 ReplyTest them on patrol
-
3 RepliesIts called patrol
-
1 ReplyIf they wasted time implementing this instead of addressing the multitude of flaws that suck the fun out of the game, I’d be pissed. Not surprised in the least, but pissed.
-
1 ReplyI'd much rather test weapons on Patrol instead of hanging around the Tower.
-
1 ReplyDamage values scale based on the activity/area, so a shooting range would be pointless.
-
Well, seeing all the things that we are asking for, and nothing's getting though, I think this might take a while, if it ever gets in.
-
2 RepliesWe ask for a shooting range...they made a soccer field
-
1 ReplyWhy? All the guns have set rolls and the same gun is recycled 3/4 times in the game. Change up the color, give it a new name and, voile, a "new" weapon.
-
4 RepliesHow about giving us a reason to play the content already in the game first before adding anything new?
-
Cozmo let the devs know about this a long time ago. Maybe you should come up with a more recent request like vault space. I hear for the first time ever the vault isn't big enough.
-
There are variables to account for such as; resilience, class, mods, and type of enemy

6 RepliesBungie is so lame CoD has a better social space than destiny lol lol lol
-
I’ve wanted to have the ability to test swords, specifically to determine if a new sword has as cool a stance as Quickfang, in the Tower. It’ll never happen though because there are too many alternatives for accomplishing the same goal on the planets. Unless...
I️ don’t even want to say this because it’ll probably happen and I wont like it. If they tied this shooting range/practice area to Eververse, then Bungie has more of a reason to add this feature. For example, spend some silver dust and glimmer to test weapons you don’t already own.
-
Cod has a gun range and a 1v1 arena in its social space.
-
Yes agreed. And a place to display armor and weapons collected other than vault. (Think Skyrim)
-
Agree ... and it would make a lot of sense in terms of the storyline and setting, as well. Any military, paramilitary or police organization would have a shooting range. I think it should be in the tower (which is technically not a tower, but rather the wall ... I digress), not the farm. If I am going to get in a ship and fly to the EDZ, I can just as well shoot real enemies as go to a shooting range. Or there could be one in each place to cover people who haven't hit level 20 yet or who simply want a reason to go back to the farm.
-
I like this idea, especially if it’s at the farm. It would give people a good reason to go to the farm post campaign.
-
Which of the few weapons you wanna test lol?
-
Yep I'll vote for that ............... as long as I can use Master rahool as a shooting target then might be a bit more happy but don't count on friendship that's a luxury item that most can't afford
-
Just Add private matches
-
I think a firing range would be pretty dope. For both testing/comparing weapons and for socializing with players. I hate infusing my weapons because of their Power, just to find out that the weapon I infused has a higher firing rate or whatever. Plus it would save me ammo as opposed to me going to Nessus and killing a few Vex and Fallen to get used to it
-
Whoa, whoa. Just because CoD WW2 has this feature doesnt mean we can demand it for D2... I mean we gotta work up to social and clan chat then to group map markers before we can even think about a firing range.
-
A gun range would be nice, but cool stuff like that... that you find in other games... isnt allowed.
-
It's called patrol and it's not like weapons even play differently outside of classes. I haven't played d2 in a month because it's shit but c'mon this is a waste of time.
