Bungie, you broke Mr. Fruit

Meh. That’s the title of his latest D2 video. Mr. Fruit, the Destiny youtuber known for being positive was finally broken by D2. He goes on to say that he was trying to do a video on the Origin Story auto rifle but fell into how bored he is with D2 already and is simply waiting for the DLC to judge if D2 is even worth it. Never would I think Fruit would descend into this D2 is bad funk. So yeah I guess you can throw “we broke Mr. Fruit” under your belt now too Bungie. When does the damage control start? • Considering we are still waiting on the first major game update. I think everyone needs to calm down. How do people not remember the Bungie beta test every tiny change for days and everyone is asking for Major changes. PC had not released yet when this hate train left the station so i'm not surprised they wanted to get it done first before they started changing the base game. People seem to think bungie has a magic Nerf, Buff, Fix button that they are not pushing. This just isn't true and I can't imagine they aren't Rushing to find fixes for your major complaints, but people are giving them any time before screaming to the forums that they are being ignored. if they update the game a few times and your still pissed then get out he pitchforks till then can we stop these hate fest posts?

  • When I was a kid I used evidence and experience to form opinions and make decisions. You youngsters don't know how easy you have it now by just relying on some random face on the Internet to tell you what to think. Must save so much time and effort allowing you to concentrate on the important stuff.

    • Wow Fruit was a big advocate of Destiny, could this be the awakening of even the strongest fanboy's to Destiny 2's faults, let's hope this kick starts a major change.

      • I do not get why people attack content creators like Mr. Fruit. He is consistently positive, and entertaining. That's a win for Destiny. Over 500k people watch his videos, and have a laugh. That's Mr. Fruit's channel. I don't get how attacking the people that watch youtubers is anymore constructive than the loudest, vial post on these forums. You paint everyone with a broad brush, but ignore the numbers. Obviously a lot of people do hear these calls to stop playing if they don't like the game. Is that what you want to keep trending? Where does your way of thinking logically end? The population has already dropped off by millions in the last two weeks. Do you think those people are casual or hardcore? Does it matter? Do you want more people to quit? Does Bungie want that?

      • They took a good game all they had to do was add some new characters and weapons and worlds with a really cool raid that was fun. Nope they tried so hard to make all these changes that frankly nobody wanted??????????????? Now you got a game that you wanted Bungie not what we wanted so Coca Cola learned this lesson maybe you will now. You don't control the fate of destiny the players do. You screwed it up so bad theres no fix at all you can do to make this better other then stop and make a new game geez wow. Been there since day 1 with destiny 1 and now i'm actually done playing it and I never thought I'd say that Bungie but I want my money back buddy.

      • I'm sorry but his opinion went out the window with me when he said maybe the pc version will fill the void, why in the world would you feel that higher fps and better graphics is gonna make a game with the exact same content any better? A shiny turd is still a turd, if he feels that better graphics is gonna make regrinding the same game he called boring and empty more enjoyable then all hope is lost for him.

        • Mr Fruit doesn't realise that Bungie releases vanilla versions first then you pay another $100 to get the full game.

          • There’s much MUCH less individual skill in D2. People with high KD’s are those who unlocked “friendship” and go to crucible in teams. D1 had hundreds of ‘insane clutch’ videos from some of the best, which was interesting to watch and to try and replicate. D2 videos and streaming is incredibly boring. Team body shots are the meta. No one wants to watch that and seemingly - very few enjoy playing it either.

People looked at these streamers/YouTubers as God's mostly because of cheap ability spamming, snipe headshots and broken mobility exploits. This is a new game with which will have a new set of skilled players who will rise to take the place of these exploit streamers. Different game with different skills needed to be great. It involves boatloads of teamwork. Which means it's alot harder to carry players. Which means the streamers can't make as much money. Boo hoo! No sympathy from me. Paid carries and recovery accounts ruined Destiny 1's competitive games like Trials of Osiris.

                      • You Fanboys kill me in these comments. This just shows that more people than you think are disappointed. This is just an example. I can't for the life of me understand how you players that are fine with things the way they are be so unhappy or upset with those of us who are disappointed. If you like the game good for you, I'm not mad with any of you for that. If you like the game keep playing and enjoy yourself. If you like the game why are you even commenting in post where people are disappointed? Overlook these post and go read the post of your fellow gamers that like this. These post aren't for you. It's for Bungie and those of us who are United with......... YEAH THIS GAME SUCKS

                        • The TL;DR - Widespread player discontent and drastically reduced game content still provides streamer avenue for channel clicks.

Reading these comments, I think people don't understand the impact YouTubers and Streamers have. They may not be the best players, or they may be playing for a paycheck, but you have to realize that they speak to a huge audience who will listen and share their opinion. Mr. Fruit has over 1 million subs on YouTube. If he's dissatisfied with a certain aspect of the game, you can be sure others will support his opinion. That's a lot bigger voice than one of us leaving a single post on this forum where it's quickly lost within other posts. We should support them if you want to see a change in the game especially when they point out the same failing.

                            • I watched this video and it is telling that Mr. Fruit is having a hard time finding positive things to say. I agree that we should all form our own opinions on D2 and act accordingly (boycott, keep playing, take a break until the DLC, sacrifice a chicken and hope for the best). The important thing about Mr. Fruit making a video like this is his reach. Whether people like it or not Youtube content creators have become a voice in the gaming community that developers pay attention to. Not because they necessarily think they the youtubers are the "truth tellers," but because of the reach they have into the gaming community and the influence they wield with their viewers. I have my own issues with D2 and I formed those before I saw one youtuber make a video even remotely critical of D2 (never bite the hand that feeds you.) But now the player count is dwindling and I don't know this for a fact, but I would guess their views on D2 youtube content is dwindling at a similar rate at this point. Hitting content creators in their pocket book will make people react. Plain and simple. Hopefully this will bring even more weight to Bungie and get some sort or response or acknowledgement that there were some mistakes made and plans to fix them. I don't hate D2, I don't want it to be "dead" and I also don't think it is anywhere near what it can be. Acknowledge there are issues (specifically), make a plan and fix the game!
