Happy Bungie Day!

EDIT: All of the winners have been chosen. Thanks for playing! In case you haven't read it yet, we just posted a few things we are doing today in honor of this community created celebration. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/46038/7_Happy-Bungie-Day I'm going to be giving some codes out today(like this one 4D3-6XN-DHC) that will give you early access to the Beta. If you have already preordered, feel free to give your code to a friend if you win. Remember even if you don't get a code the Beta opens up for everyone on July 21st. Post below with your favorite Bungie memory. It could be as recent as sniping me in the face or as old as winning a bunch of steak from Luke Smith. We will choose some winners at random and PM them a Beta code. Thanks for being an amazing community. And remember, be excellent to each other.

  • I initially hate the idea and had to ignore all the trailers and videos when Destiny was first announced on E3 3years ago. Soon after came the beta, Ignored it as well. Months after its release, I got bored and tried different games and saw destiny had a downloadable demo on my PS store, told myself "heck! i'm bored might as well try this one out!" EVERYTHING ELSE IS HISTORY... Although there were ups and downs, thanks bungie for this game! I hope you make it right this time around. Cheers!

  • I would have to say LAN parties and having a CTF match go on for just under three hours with a full 8v8 in Halo. Every weekend for a good 4 months or so during the summer was spent with good people and good times.

Bungie has brought memories, joy, and friends to my life since the early days of the Halo Combat Evolved Demo that came out with the GameInformer Demo Discs in Late 2000 / Early 2001, you know, that good old Silent Cartographer level? After that, things took off from there, soon after...I became a hardcore game glitcher on Halo 1 and hellbent on breaking your games apart to find all the hidden goodies (Disregard my video editing, as I was 15 Years old roughly!) and such I could accomplish, then moving on the the further games, some of which got me in trouble in matchmaking, again, don't mind my terrible video editing, I made that video as well when I was around 15. Halo 2 was my absolute golden era of gaming. The countless amount of friends I made may not all still be around the virtual world anymore, but the memories they've implanted in my head will be there forever. Some of my best memories come from Halo 2 and Reach. I actually still play my retail copy on the original xbox now and then, but after I got heavily into becoming a video game programmer, I actually decompiled Halo 2 on a modified xbox and worked on improving some of the aspects of the game, including BSP Structure and vastly improved AI. I actually rewrote the story-line for Halo 2 and re-did some of the cutscenes, along with added new aspects to the game (including deleted content left in the code; Looking at you Flood Juggernaut and Usable Jackel Shields). It was an absolute joy. Halo Reach was the pinnacle for me. I retired that game with I think a 2.36 KD or some-such, and made a TON of friends and joined my first clan, which migrated over the Destiny. Sadly, the clan split up towards the end of Destiny's life-span, so now here I sit, waiting for the next title to hopefully draw me in as your games before it did. After Reach, it wasn't the same (Probably since that was your last Halo game). Now, after becoming a full-fledged adult and having a disposable income, I'm finally able to do one of the things I've always wanted to do - Own my very own Halo arsenal and Master Chief suit. I go to a lot of cosplay inventions, and everybody loves getting pictures with the Chief! I can't stress enough the impact your guys had on my life during your golden years, you've taken me on one hell of a ride Bungie...One hell of a ride. Thanks for everything, really. Keep making kick-ass games.

My favorite memory was when I was planning on buying a modded controller for Destiny 2 pvp. Now that it is 4x4 and lower ttk weapons, I have saved myself a hundred dollars. Thank you Bungie https://giphy.com/gifs/darth-vader-11jv7a253aO1gI https://giphy.com/gifs/darth-vader-c4ygzv5PIrRss/

        • Honestly, beating the VoG the first time back in year 1. It was probably the most difficult but most rewarding raid. We ran it over and over every single week hoping to get all the amazing gear.

That first taken king mission with the ships attacking oryxs fleet in 3D cause of our tv being awesome. (Needed to watch the rise of iron scenes on it but the PS4 is upstairs now) Probably my first kingsfall completion because y'all did great at making it hard. • My best Destiny memory has to be the 1st time I ever did a raid and it was kings fall, I started playing destiny just after the 2016 April update I'd completed all story missions done the strikes over and over again and thought to myself I think it's time to dip my toe in a raid. Anyway I proceed to lfg end up with 5 other clueless guardians, 7hrs later and quite a lot of different guardians later we finally dropped Oryx, I was so determined I was going to beat that raid that day, it was a red hot June day in the UK and most of us here don't have aircon in our homes I was soaking with sweat. A day I'll never forget.

          • Going into Vault of Glass blind with no idea how to get it done, making it to the end and beating Atheon with a group of great people was the best. Hoping for more raids like that in Destiny 2!

          • My last memory of this shitty game was when me an my friend did one last raid then waved goodbye to the shit storm of the first game. My best memory is when two different times in the cruicble I laid out the entire enemy team with my super. Once with my gunslinger on bule exodist in the banner on the B flag the next was on black shield with my striker on the C flag just ran up an electrocuted them with the fist of havoc. Both times I felt bad because they were random luck an chance but it was awesome as hell.

            • My favorite moment is when I took my first step into online multiplayer gaming with Halo 3. I was timid at first, wouldn't even turn on my mic in the lobbies. But I met a great friend who helped me become the gamer I am today. Now, I have wonderful friendships that could last a lifetime.

The guardians were once 'Legends.' Now, it is an honor to die by the side of the chickens - at the farm. https://tenor.com/view/kungfu-jump-chicken-chase-chasing-gif-5283018

            • I have a memory that leads up to my favorite memory. It was just a random Saturday night running some strikes by myself. A little backstory. This was right after the Dark Below DLC came out. I had never run a raid before. It's not like I didn't want to (the gear from VoG was enticing), it's that I thought I wasn't good enough and didn't want to go through the responsibility and stress of possibly failing my team. And the fact that I never really enjoyed the social aspects of games. I'm rather timid and quiet. I was forever 28 during VoG because I never went into VoG. And I was going to do the same for Crota's End. Anywho, back to the main story. Like I said, I was running some strikes right after TDB came out. I was matchmade into a fireteam for the Cerberus Vae III. I was halfway through the strike when I noticed the warlock next to me. I was a warlock main and still am so I was always looking for cool looking space mage armor. There it was. The Crota's End Deathsinger's gaze helmet for warlocks. It was the coolest looking helmet in any game I had ever seen. After seeing the helmet I knew what I had to do. I was going to get that helmet. So, I used that determination to run my first ever raid. CE. Which is why CE will remain my favorite raid of all time. And I got the helmet, which was my favorite moment in the game. Destroying Crota and getting that helmet. Breaking my molding and playing the best content in the game. After running CE (and getting Deathsinger's gaze on my first run) I had confidence enough to try VoG. Ever since seeing that helmet in that strike, I have had an amazing time with this game. Raids will remain my favorite part and some other of my favorite memories are from during my time spent in raids.
