EDIT: All of the winners have been chosen. Thanks for playing!
In case you haven't read it yet, we just posted a few things we are doing today in honor of this community created celebration.
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/46038/7_Happy-Bungie-Day
I'm going to be giving some codes out today(like this one 4D3-6XN-DHC) that will give you early access to the Beta. If you have already preordered, feel free to give your code to a friend if you win. Remember even if you don't get a code the Beta opens up for everyone on July 21st.
Post below with your favorite Bungie memory. It could be as recent as sniping me in the face or as old as winning a bunch of steak from Luke Smith. We will choose some winners at random and PM them a Beta code.
Thanks for being an amazing community. And remember, be excellent to each other.

4 RepliesMy favorite moment in Destiny was finally getting Hawkmoon. Since day 1 I've been on an never ending quest to obtain Hawkmoon but with no luck whatsoever. No matter what I did, no matter how well I played I just never had it dropped for me. It began to haunt me wherever I go. People walking around with Hawkmoon on them, last place players in crucible having the weapon drop for them, friends obtaining it in raids, and videos like Mr. Fruit getting it where just mocking me and crushing my soul. I even had dreams of obtaining it, only to wake up in despair on how such a possibility was just impossible for someone like me. Truly, it was a nightmare like never before. Fast forward sometime later, The Taken King was coming up in less than a week. My friends and I group up for a nice session of cruise through the raid like normal, taking down many foes in our as we made our way to crota himself. There we spend a good hour or so taking (or at least trying) him down since of course crota never liked to play fair and glitched out on us several times. Finally we beat him and receive our rewards. I wasn't paying attention to the feed in the corner since I was just celebrating finally taking him down after many failed attempts. That's when my friends told me "dude you just got Hawkmoon" to which I respond with "yeah right" and checked my inventory. There I found nothing and was sad that I was lied to by my own comrades. But for some reason, something urge me to check again and to make sure if I really did obtain Hawkmoon. So while in orbit I checked again to see if I saw everything properly. Lo and behold there it was, the weapon in which I spent months grinding for with no luck whatsoever while Rahool and RNGessus mocked me behind my back. Hawkmoon in all of its beautiful glory was there, sitting elegantly in my inventory. My response to this was nothing more but a simple reaction. I screamed like a little girl, hopping around my room, dancing like no tomorrow and shouting "I FINALLY GOT HAWKMOON" all while my friends were laughing like crazy to my reaction. Truly it was the greatest moment in my entire destiny career. My only regret was that I didn't record my reaction or at least save the recording of my voice on ps4. But in the end I got what I wanted for so long and that's all that mattered.

Although I joined Destiny much later than the majority of the fan base, I have fallen head-over-heels for this wonderful game. Even though I was troubled by the confusing and underdeveloped story of Vanilla Destiny, the amazing architecture of every location blew me away from the start. Other aspects of the game, like the lore and my recently discovered love for the characters as I played through The Taken King, have taken longer to grow on me, but have captured my attention with equal magnitude. My favorite part, so far, from Destiny has been the community. I love impromptu dance parties in the tower, helping each other out during strikes and patrols, and the general love and care that flows throughout. One of my best memories was related to this amazing community. Nothing so heartfelt as supporting me through a rough patch or helping me remember a lost friend and guardian, but a small act of friendship I appreciated. I was wandering through Venus and saw just a guardian chilling in front of the Vault of Glass. Cue "wave" emote. "Wave" back. I smiled and failed miserably on my first few attempts to join him up on his perch. Having finally succeeded, I "helped," or maybe just looked like a noob, him kill the Vex around. We then wandered around the jungles, harvesting spirit blooms, opening patrol chests, slaying Vex Goblins like bosses, and goofing off. I explored areas I had never seen before, finding new paths to follow and slipping off the map to do so. I was just there to have a good time, and so, it seemed, was my new friend. It just made my day to find someone to laze around the Ishtar Sink with, floating aimlessly in patrol. Even now, writing this, about a month after it happened, a smile still manages to float onto my face.

17 RepliesMy best memory is when this company actually cared about making the game they were creating and actually had a lot more appreciation for their fanbase. The min this company signed a contract with Activision all was lost. Such a shame how far this game has come and Luke smith thinks it's ok to treat this game like Halo. Just remember Luke, you will be named for life for the downfall of this game. Good luck on finding another job if you ever get fired from Bungie.

1 ReplyI remember dismantling my old God rolled Peruns fusion after I think it was the second iron banner 😭

I'd still have to say, my two favorite memories would be; 1) two weeks after playing Destiny, about a month after HoW dlc released, I found a legendary engram rolling around on the moon that dropped from an enemy I did not kill. It was right below the bridge in the spawn area on the far side of the beginning patrol area. I was level 26 when I brought it to Master Rahool in the Tower at 2AM in the morning, and it decrypted into my very first Exotic, Gjallarhorn. I immediately began to troll my friends who played since day 1 and never got it until it was sold during it's last week. 2) Right after an extremely sweaty match of iron banner, I was gifted with efredeets spear. It was my most favored sniper only seconded by New Monarchy's Violator XII. I brought into Trials in year 2 with only around 150 light level and was an absolute troll; it barely did 200 damage. Maybe if I took the matches a little more seriously, I may have been able to go flawless at least once.

3 RepliesIt's knowledge pay attention only few actually know I hope you all find each other u will be amazed

My favourite memory I was raiding with two Scottish guys once and one of them had a very quiet voice. I suggested that he check his mic sensitivity in the console settings. When he came back his voice was a bit louder but he had also turned up a voice changer setting without realising and me and the other guy were literally crying with laughter while trying to explain to the Scottish chipmunk what he'd done. 😀

Edited by Happy Jack: 7/11/2017 4:47:08 PMFavorite Bungie Memory? When Bungie gave Friends & Family beta invites to old school members of the community for the Halo 3 beta. Hint hint. It was super cool not having beta access, then randomly receiving a code, not only for the beta but for special early access. Hasn't happened since, at least not for me. As for my random story, it was showing up to a community Halo 2 LAN in my area and recognizing a player name that had actually been a friend of mine on Xbox Live. Side note to Bungie, I'm still waiting on my Bungie.net avatar submission to show up. Back when you were giving away star icons on Reach you had an avatar contest, I was one of the lucky few winners to make the front page and receive the special star icon; but randomly mine was the only avatar to not actually get uploaded to the avatar selection. My claim to fame on Bungie.net, and it was a no go.

I don't have a specific favorite bungie memory but my favorite thing is all the friends I've met because of bungie and destiny

Edited by Swarfiga86: 7/11/2017 5:40:56 PMI have 2 favourite bungie memories. My buddy was the first to buy a 360 and had halo 3 and we had never played online before. I went up to his house and was like whack that ethernet cable in and see what happens. Few mins later we were both playing Halo 3 online multiplayer and we haven't looked back since. Second is when me and my pals in my clan BLAF (Buzzing like a fridge) tired to break open the vault of glass. Majority of us were woefully underleveled at like level 23-26 and we couldn't make it through the front door. Came back a few weeks later and cracked that door - VOG is still my favourite raid. First and best Raid.

I'd have to say one of my favorite memories would be from year one of Destiny. After playing solo for some months, I found a group of friends, who I play with to this day, to run strikes and raids. I was part of the forever 29 group until I learned about the app and had two Sherpa friends teach me Vault of Glass. I could easily peg one of my happiest memories to getting a weapon or gear drop that I had been craving, but my best memory is much simpler. My best memory is running strikes with my friends into the late morning (5-6 AM) for loot. Eventually, one night I started playing my Hall and Oats Pandora station, which proved to be hilarious as a backdrop to sniping Hive and blowing up Fallen. It also created a spiral of 80s and 90s throwbacks that had I laughing (sleep deprived) all night. That's my favorite memory. 🙃

My favorite moments were starting a new character. Back when ever engram was useful. From 0 to 400 light the game was so much more rewarding. The first time a got a blue engram was great, purple was even better, and my first exotic was the best. I honestly thought it was a white engram at first. This game has been amazing and I know D2 will be even better.
-
3 RepliesMy favorite moment was easily the little montage thing bungie did for everyone at the end of year 1. Not only was it cool to see the different statistics it gave, but it also gave you a title at the end, mine being hive bane (top 1% in hive killed woohoo). The best part wasn't the video itself though, but how it actually came into the game. I'm not certain how it works/worked for all titles, but ever since that video every time I go talk to Shaxx (spelling?) he says one of a couple different phrases calling me hive bane. That little extra bit of continuity between my actions in game and how this NPC talks to my character is awesome. I only wish that it could be all NPCs and not just the one.

Wished we coild have done things in the City before Destiny 2 drops. The concept art was amazing to look through.
-
one of my favorite memories was playing crucible pvp and getting excited when I got blue engram weapons I had no idea what legendaries or exotics even where so when I out gunned someone using thorn or the like I was really happy overall fun times

2 RepliesMy favorite memory would be using the vex or suros or pretty much every weapon before you listened to the crucibitch crowd and nerfed everything.
