I really hope this isn't true. Grinding for that perfect gun is what made destiny so replayable.

Edited by w3rdblader: 6/30/2017 6:44:53 PMI think it's funny that people think this will change anything. Now, instead of having 6 different rolls on 6 different HC, there will me an imago roll, fatebringer roll, down and doubt roll, etc. In destiny there are 12 different handcannons that all have 12 possible RNG rolls. In destiny 2 there will be 12 different handcannons that all have their own specific roll. It still ends up being only 12 hand cannons and only 12 perks. So RNG on which gun drops will be the same factor as the RNG that affected perks.
yes the number 12 is just an example number, I'm sure there are more than 12 hand cannons and perks.
Meanwhile I don't like the idea of this change, they did say that they had plans to combat the whole "not looking forward to finding multiple same weapons". Can't say anything yet since they're on a deadline and they're not 100% sure they can do it on launch but they do plan to do it. Hopefully sooner than later.

1 ReplyEdited by ICanDodgeABullet: 6/30/2017 4:17:40 PMWhen people cry and complain theyre getting beat cause someones gun was better this is the result. They have streamlined the hell out of d2 and the ONLY ppl to blame are everyone who leaked salty tears. So now everyone gets the same gun. Everyone gets to choose between 2 perk trees. And now people will finally have to admit they just arent good and stop blaming everything else and maybe, just maybe, theyll take the handcuffs off and set our guardians free
-
I heard that perks are no longer random, and EVERY gun is going to have its perks chosen by Bungie. Goodbye grinding for the god rolls.

2 RepliesD2 is shaping up to be disappointing. There isn't a single thing that I've learned about the game that has me remotely hyped. I've put stupid amounts of time into Destiny over the last 3 years and loved what it used to be. Been very disappointed with the direction since ROI which was a failure in my eyes and a lame money grab with little content. I'm choosing to vote with my wallet and see what I think of the beta. No pre-ordering until I see how this weapon system shit works out.... I don't like it so far.
-
1 ReplyUnfortunately, it is. Though they haven't told us what weapon mods do, perhaps they will give us the option to find the "High Caliber rounds" and put them into a Handcannon so we can customize our guns to our playstyle.
-
8 RepliesThe more I hear about D2, the less interested I am in buying it.
-
If Bungie are setting fixed weapon stats then I'd guess they'll also reduce the drop rates to compensate for prevent a decrease in the average amount if grind required. Unless they are going to bring in a modding system, where the weapon stats are fixed but changes can be made through RNG grindalot mods. Kinda like Warframe weapons/mods but without the trading aspect.

"How to lose to interest in a new game within months.. Luke smit has the answer"
-
Yeah , sounds a bit gash , but on the upside , Luke Smith vaguely hinted at something that may be implemented sometime after release(lmfao, have they got anything for release date?) that could end up being mods. That shit'll probably be part of some DLC , along with custom games and anything else they don't have time to sort out before September.
-
Sounds terrible.
-
Sooo we getting Halo back..
-
3 RepliesEdited by CatMan: 6/30/2017 4:59:15 PMIt would make balance easy. This could be one of the things I'm not against in D2 if true.
-
Think of it like the grind for Fatebringer It was always a set roll, but people had somewhat limited chances at it per week
-
More annoying is the Bungo habit of hinting at a major change and then not bothering to try and properly explain it!
-
14 RepliesYou guys act like we didn't have this already in the game...fate bringer, black hammer, and chaos dogma are a few examples of this and everyone used them I get that you liked that feeling of getting that perfect roll but some of you act like it's the end of the world when really some of the best guns in destiny were fixed rolls give it a chance before you judge like -blam!-
-
Sweeeeeeeet. I never even got to use the weapon I wanted after almost 2 years of playing 1 game. I hope they do a cod type thing and make it so once you get a weapon, you have to do certain things to unlock camos. That way you can be guaranteed to get everything you want on the 1 weapon that's your favorite after playing enough. But unlocking everything for every weapon would take forever. I never knew so many people here liked grinding 6 months so they could test a weapon and see if they like it lol. I've literally wasted 6 months grinding for a gun, to use it, and not like it. That's literally a waste of 6 months of playing. Wasted. That's not right
-
3 RepliesSo everyone will use the same handcannon that has outlaw and firefly. Assuming there is one. Then it will have its perks changed. Rinse and repeat until d3.
-
Should just give everyone bucks of salt rounds for a shotgun. Then the game would match the forums.

Edited by TwoFiveOne_: 6/30/2017 5:03:36 PMOh god. This would be bad

4 RepliesEdited by Technohydra: 6/30/2017 3:19:45 PMThe idea is that the guns will roll the same under most, if not all, circumstances, but there will be a larger selection of guns to choose from. This allows RNG to let you hit the lotto with the gun you've been looking for, but removes the idea that someone won a fight because they rolled a better gun than you've ever seen. That's why the 'no LitC rule in sweats is a little shaky to me; RNG is still contributing to every gun fight in some way through the rolls. There is also something in the works, and I'm willing to bet it's a gun customization or creation system of some type to allow you to get different things than just the stock weapons. If I'm correct, the dev being interviewed (I think it was Luke, can't remember) said roughly, 'We have a lot of plans for items, and I wish I could talk to (whoever was doing the interview) about them, but we'll have to wait; we're up against a deadline, and the feature may not be ready by the go-live date'. So even with set rolls, I see a possible path for us to get different stuff than just 'stock'. It's speculation, but I think there may be something to it.

Edited by U12070628: 6/30/2017 4:51:57 PMIf that's the case then there better be ALOT of weapons and archetypes. So that basically means if a gun is shit it's forever shit. "Woah, this gun would be good if it had more stability" oh well.
-
11 RepliesYep, d2 is being nerfed b4 we even get to play it. Once again, an aspect of what was great/fun in pve is ruined for the sake of pvp balance.
-
Seems like, yet again, a pvp fix at the expense of pve. Oh well... back to Azeroth!
-
1 Replyif it prevents the "god roll' luck, which in turn will help them nerf individual weapons and not screw over an entire weapon type, then I'm all for it.
-
I don't think that that is true
