[EDIT] check out my new post "Did you know you can help block unwanted sollicitors on destinylfg?"
Trials used to be fun, but ain't anymore because players have found all kind of ways to make money with this game mode which i believe is one big joke for reaching the lighthouse.
- twitch streamers asking money for carries and account recoveries and so called donations that are not mandantory but welcome.
- Most streamers are using raffles, which gives followers such a small chance of winning one. They post on destinylfg or bungie reqruitment page that a raffle is going now, but once you enter they just started their first or second match, its nonsense. Followers are just wasting their time for hours in these streams just to make a chance for a lighthouse run.
- I admit, I have even done it, but realized its waste of time cause I want to play the game, not wait for it.
A RAFFLE = A LOTTERY= to give you the impression you might win something for free = this causes a lot of time people to give something back like a donation!
Psychology = when you receive something for free, you are willing to give something back.
- so your chances of winning one is little and the fact that a carry plus waiting for the streamer to get more followers into his stream will take more than one hour, you might end up spending several hours in stream without getting a carry. NOW, thats waste of your time and energy, it only benefits the streamer.
- if you are lucky to win a raffle, nice. But high chance this won't happen as easy again next time as lots of streamers have rules in place that you won't be able to win another raffle if you already did.
DONATIONS are not required, but APPRECIATED
- if they are not required, why do streamers add a DONATION button on their stream?
- its all psychology to trick you. They mask it with quotes like
*to improve my stream*
*for my wedding*
etc...
- cheaters using ddos and lag switches to reach the lighthouse for money
- 3/4 of destinylfg.com posts are about asking money for lighthouse runs or account recoveries
- even posts on ebay
- its almost impossible for players with a lower than 1.0 kd to find a team for trials.
- then we have stuff like elo and kd farming, its so broken.
- BAD matchmaking
- too many RED bars
How much longer are you letting this happen Bungie?
Please, open up your eyes guys and girls. This is not how playing a game and having fun as it is meant to be. Think more than twice before donating your money for just a lighthouse run, which is not special at all.

5 RepliesAll of crucible sucks anymore. Why give us bounties for 50 primary kills when everyone runs around with a shotty. Bungie just does it to @@@@ everyone off. By the end of it I'm completely talking @@@@

If you're good at something, don't do it for free

22 RepliesI just don't understand. Why is it always the bad players in the community that bitches about the way trials is. Do you not want something to work for, do y'all really just want things given to you. Gaming has really changed since the good ole halo days. Trying to get that 50, now people just want those things given to them. Carries will always be a thing. If you matched against a streamer running stacked, they would beat you worse then how they beat you doing a carry. Just bc someone who has a .5 kd gets lucky and gets carried to the lighthouse doesn't mean that everyone who's better than him deserves it too. Nothing is stopping you from learning how to play the game better, unless you have a disability. And if you don't want to sit down and learn how to get better at the game, then you DO NOT deserve to go to the lighthouse.

22 RepliesHow people will react with my response for right now will be interesting Get ready Trials should be removed for Destiny 2 in partake for some more interesting pvp game modes that will invest pvp players in the long run. I think ranked system would work for pvp as it would get people a certain goal they'd like to achieve. But my opinion doesn't count because I know for sure I'll get some nasty responses from Trials elitists who cling on to Trials like their life depends on it (those who have built their streams on Trials alone will suffer if Bungie ever removes it and they don't meet their rent payment because they need Twitch to keep them alive and relevant) Sitting back and getting ready for the beatin I'm sure I'll get a lot of hate for my response.

4 RepliesHere's a thought. Don't play Trials. It's a pile of shit anyway. Job done.
-
1 ReplyEasy solution: Trials matchmaking. Pit the hardcores ONLY against hardcores. If you can't get to the Lighthousie, no one's gonna pay you to get them there.
-
I don't understand why you think it's so important. People only play trials for a couple of reasons. Ego or they just like Destiny pvp. There is really no piece of gear you will get that's even worth using. The Only Exception being the blind perdition
-
2 RepliesPick on somone your own size. Low kd/elo matched with similar High kd/elo matched with similar Unfortunately this will probably never happen.
-
How about you stop playing the game. Then you won't have to worry about it anymore.

1 ReplyRANDOMLY writes some WORDS in all-CAPS

13 RepliesAverage players don't belong in the lighthouse. But less than average players belong there when they pay to get carried there. This is a lot of people's issue. That trials is meant to show you're good. But people worse than others get there because they paid or won a raffle. Then you have your red bars that make the rounds total rng. You have teams of 3 all rocking shin bows Vow with 6 skips every single round. You have normal decent players who play a bunch of games competing against teams who practice their 3v3s everyday in that 1 game type. There are so many ways that this competition can be seen as unfair. And a lot of it would be fixed by some type of tier system. And it will work as long as bungie doesn't tell players exactly which stat ranks them so they can't fake being bad, unless they lose alot and die alot, which will help the other teams anyway. I'm sorry if you're extremely good, and feel a tiered system is a punishment. It's not. It's a game made for everyone. If you're that good, I heard they're making a destiny mlg, go for it. But to say you deserve better items in game is a little silly. I used to be top 500 in cod for 3 of their games. I never thought I deserved a special gun or emblem. I took a picture of my rank. That's my reward. Being in the top .0001 percent. I know players who suck, who suck, and they were the best player on their team when they went flawless. I also know decent players who have never been there. Always to 8 wins, and never 9. So obviously, it's not a great system for showing skill. So if it's not just, not perfect, but hugely flawed, why is anyone defending this shit. Someone wants a gun. They don't deserve it in your eyes because they can't win 9 games in a row. Jesus. It's a game. He's not taking anything away from you. Gaming is not where your selfish capitalist ideas belong. Let them live in real life. But let gaming be about the community. You assholes.

Perfect place to post that lol

What's up everyone? Looking for trials help? Come check me out at gooseegg33 on twitch. Let me say this first, I'm not the greatest player and I'm really not good enough to carry anyone. However, I do carries with my buddy Jkeggy who is like a 2.6 kd. I usually average around a 1.7 to 1.9 kd each weekend. Im getting better. I'm new to twitch so I don't have many followers. I think I have like 40 which increases your chances to win a raffle. I'm just a chill guy who enjoys destiny. Pvp all week and trials on the weekend. I work, I'm married and have a 4 year old boy, so I encourage all dads to come by and run with me. I know it's not easy for some dads to get to the lighthouse due to lack of time played. Hope to see you guys this weekend. Thanks!

17 RepliesDid you know people pay for raid recoveries? I don't get why trials recoveries makes people so angry when they turn a blind eye to the raid ones. Its like saying the whole darn thing is broken and asking Bungie to overhaul the raid because people pay for it. Dumb.
-
4 RepliesWhat is an account recovery? I am a PvP scrub so I do not play much ToO. Too old, too slow.
-
A ranked matchmaking system is needed for trials this will fix it.
-
The best way to help people go flawless is to not play at all. With one card you are helping around 1-2 while ruining 21-27 other people's cards.
-
2 RepliesI mean... would you rather the streamers doing carries play with their friends who are doing carries? If you can't beat them when they're carrying someone, you don't want to meet them with their squad.
-
And all weekend I'm reading lfg's that read must have a 2k/d and 2000 elo, rip the dream of finding a team
-
5 RepliesSomeone's salty about not winning a raffle. Since you are looking to get carried, you could try a different streamer that doesn't have 2k viewers.
-
** For my wedding LMAO !! too funny

16 RepliesEdited by WiggletonBandit: 2/2/2017 3:58:59 PMIt's the system Bungie and the player base has created. Both are to blame. It's a bit catch-22 at this point. In order for more players to be able to reach the lighthouse without a carry, the number of weaker players participating in Trials needs to increase. The competitive Trials community however is largely against any type of system which would encourage lower skilled players to participate such as offering the new gear from trials bounties, some kind of tier system, or anything of the sort. The result is a system where a relative few can reliably achieve a flawless run completely on their own merits, which creates demand and a market for those willing to pay to get the gear. Effectively Bungie has created a Pay-To-Win system, only it's top tier players who are the beneficiaries instead of the company. Though you could argue that Bungie benefits from this via the free publicity their game gets by being promoted by those top streamers. For most, myself included, the rewards just aren't worth the hassle and time investment as Trials exists today, and until they lower the barrier to entry for lower skilled payers or find some incentive for them to participate, paid carries are here to stay.

28 RepliesLast exit was the map 18 weeks ago...826,734 accounts played that weekend....139,066 flawless. This past weekend was the lowest participation in trials ever. The weapons, armor, and ornaments are not worth it. CB doctrine is better than any of the current lighthouse weapons. The Iron Banner pulse is better. Our clan was basically a trials only clan with 140+ people, (down to about 80) , of that, only about 10 still play trials because they are the only ones that can compete (they are 1900 +elo). The point not being made here, is that, streamers have all day, everyday to work at their craft. Whatever you put 60 -70 or more hours a week into.... more than likely, you'll be significant better than someone who can only devote 20 or so hours a week to the same craft.

Edited by Dredgen Dread: 2/3/2017 11:35:41 AMLol what is Bungie supposed to do exactly?

4 RepliesYou are pretty lost

3 RepliesEdited by ChiefDemon159: 2/3/2017 8:32:48 AMLet's see if Bungie would do something about this. I doubt it but I am just typing here to bump this post. Good to see a post like this one is trending.
