Bladedancer Changes

Right now, Bladedancers are in a weird spot. They have some of the strongest perks and abilities while also having some issues that at certain moments make them seem like the weakest classes. Skip grenades and quickdraw in particular are of course some of the better abilities that it has to offer while arc bolts would be one of the weaker ones. I would maybe suggest a damage reduction for skips as well as removing one of the projectiles from Shinobu's Vow (it currently allows you to throw 5 projectiles, which is more than the standard 4). It'd also be nice did they changed Shinobu's Vow so that you would spawn with grenade energy instead of having 2 skip grenades. This would prevent players from just throwing 2 skip grenades at the beginning of every match to get kills. I would also like to see arc bolts get a small damage buff since there are often times when I use one and my primary won't finish them since they'll have a sliver of health. All I ask is for a damage buff so that they deal 100 damage instead of the 91 that they do now. And of course, the super itself is something that is that needs to be looked at. While we all know how bad short stopping can be, I won't mention that since it is so well known. What I want to address is the fact that arc blade,for whatever reason, does not allow you to move or attack while in the middle of your super if you activate it immediately after you double jump. This video shows exactly what I'm talking about (just skip to 1:53 if you want to see where the glitch is tested). https://youtu.be/lle_XfQ5xJE This is a very big issue since the super doesn't last long and it's very easy to shut down with a shotgun. If I choose to not double jump just before I activate it, I sacrifice valuable time that I could have used to close the gap on an enemy. If I choose to use the double jump just before my super activation, I run the risk of very easily dying to a shotgun. TL;DR Bladedancer is a great class, but there are some parts of it that are either too strong or too weak/ unreliable. Reducing skip grenade damage and modifying Shinobu's Vow to have it only let you throw 4 projectiles as well as spawn in with grenade energy instead of 2 grenades would be a good change. Buff arc bolts to do 100 damage. Fix the glitch on arc blade that doesn't allow you to move or swing when you activate your super immediately after double jump. This glitch is something that can really make or break the super.

      Bungie doesn't about hunters, only warlocks. They have blink, over shield, and have quickdraw gauntlets. Don't even get me started of their grenade recharge. I'm playing the wrong class. This post will fall on deaf ears.

      • I hate how when you use your super and if you slash either a Titan or a Warlock during their supers you need to hit them twice while vice versa they only need to hit you once.

          • Stop asking for buffs for hunters. You dont see warlocks and titans making these dumb posts. Git gud you are trying to make hunters easy mode for pvp.

                  • As a player who plays all three classes (not an ape). I think the changes you suggest are on point and would bring this subclass closer to balanced. Well done!!! I'll take this opportunity to say twilight garrison makes Titans totally out of balance in terms of mobility compared to other classes!!!! It should be removed from game!!!! Any one who argues otherwise is an Ape and should not be trusted!!!

                  • To avoid a shotgun+melee death, I simply jump in the air first and then swipe. I was thinking arcbolt should go back to its damage BUT it does less damage to the next person it chains. So 122(?) To the first person, 91 to the second, etc. Of course, if you buff this then you'll need to buff firebolt again. I'm assuming warlocks miss the burn damage so why not make viking funeral+touch of flame a bit different than before. Instead of the 1,000 ticks it use to do, it should do the same damage as it use to in the same amount of ticks as touch of flame has right now. So, instead of it doing 7 damage per tick, it would 14 damage per tick. Other players hated being out for so long so this would eliminate the extra time but still do the same damage.

                    I'am using BD ultimate only for escape now :D in every game at least 3 strikers and 6 matadors, no point. Yesterday in one match i been killed 3 times by 1vs1 ....matador + hands, bye.... also sometimes when u hit by melee 0 damage to enemy, how many times omg..

                    • You know what screw it how about everyone shuts up about skips seriously (correct me if I'm wrong) pretty sure they got a small nerf before Shinobu's vow dropped also they are pretty much blade dancers last good grenades and don't give me the whole what about flux grenades I mean I know they're not the same as fusion grenades (because they're arc) but they seem to do less damage and don't seem to stick as well either and I don't see the fact that they're a different type to be a good enough reason for them being worse than their solar versions. And to everyone who says they track too well and you can't escape them so what that's what they're meant to do it's like complaining that fusions stick too well and you can't survive them, they can't OHK so who cares. True you can just spam 2 and try for an easy kill but I don't see how throwing 2 grenades for 1 kill is considered to be good when other classes can carry 2 fusion which is basically 2 kills. And when people complain about people throwing them at people to soften them up to finish them easily with their weapon who cares literally anyone can use any grenade at the start of an engagement to beat their opponent it's not exclusive to skip grenades sure it might be easier to do with them. And besides if you do have 1 thrown at you it's actually possible to out run them as long as your a Titan or hunter anyway. Yeah you can fix arc bolts to be useful again but then what was the point nerfing them so hard to begin with. And honestly while blade dancers super isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be I don't mind where it's at now and don't want them to give it a buff just for people to be complaining a few weeks later that it's super is op and needs some kind of nerf again. Besides I think they need to sort out there weapons before bothering with subclasses again because as long as you've got a good rolled high impact shotty with a good rolled HRof pulse you should be pretty much set any way regardless of subclass. Okay I'm done ranting.

I can't tell you how many times I've unloaded a shotgun into an oncoming Bladedancer and they still chew me apart. This subclass may need tweaks but their super? From someone on the receiving end of it I can tell you it needs no buffs.

                          • I also think that they need their super armor back, sunbreakers and sunsingers both get armor buffs with super activations and yet both classes have the ability to get kills from a distance where bladedancers need to touch players to get kills so it makes no sense that they have so little armor in comparison, add on to that the changes to super usage, mainly that swiping for movement uses far more energy now and we no longer have the evasive ability we used to use to juke players when closing the distance. The short and sweet of it, striker titans and bladedancer hunters should have the highest super armor in the game.

                            • I think both the skip grenades, and the shinobu's vows are fine as is. Its the only good grenade the hunter has. I think it would have been nice if the shinobu's would have allowed for 2 of any grenade personally, but it's not that way. However they should not take the extra grenade away.

                            • Honestly i would also love if they got rid of strikers invisible frames, im so tired of swiping first, titan panic supers and kills me when i STRIKED FIRST. If i was a gunslinger, the bullet would have gone thru and killed said striker before he could have touched the floor in 1 shot. Reason why i try to not use bladedancer in pvp cause it always happens lol. I would include voidwalker but its easy to dodge sorta the nova bomb.

                              • I'm fine with having a weaker and relatively useless super in place of having quick draw and skip grenades, my super really only comes into play if the enemy team has all used their supers or if I had enough kills to gain my super before the enemy has a chance to get theirs, and even still I only really active it to scare the enemy away from a rez or a downed teammate...
