I'm trying to get better in crucible and I wanted to know some tips about little helpful mechanics in PvP.
I'm what would be deemed a "no lifer", so time isn't an issue
Easy. Go git some of this: Oh yeah

I'll give you some tips. 1) always try to be near your teammates 2) don't challenge enemies if they're teaming up on you unless you have heavy ammo/a super 3) don't get frustrated 4) strafe in gunfights 5) (if you use a shotgun) don't run straight at people, stay out of the enemy's line of sight and close the gap

5 RepliesScout, fusion, machine gun load out and you automatically become better than half of this copy cat community in my opinion.

1 Reply-Stick to the outside edges of maps to reduce the ways the other team can get behind you. -Figure out what artifact works best for your playstyle. Don't use Skorri: that bright glow does you no favors. I'm a fan of Gheleon for the radar. -Don't be afraid to run with your team, especially in objective modes. Everyone wants to be the lone wolf who catches enemies in an unexpected crossfire, but you'll die less and earn more points (even if they're assists) running as a team. -Screw the meta. If you're more comfortable with an auto rifle, use an auto rifle (or other gun). Don't feel compelled to use pulse rifles and shotguns. -Don't be afraid to back out of a fight. If you're shooting at one guy and his buddy comes around the corner get the heck out of there. If you're lucky one or both will chase you and you can ambush them.

I know that streamers/youtubers aren't always popular on these forums, but I recommend watching some Mtashed and TrueVanguard videos. They both have some really good advice in their guides.

TLW and Sniper. I'm sure you'll kd will boost after merely equipping the combo.

Git gud /s :^)
-
On a very basic level: --Don't rush into areas. If a guy is scoping a zone that you run into, he's ready to pull the trigger and you're just running. Bam- highly likely you die. Make your approach slowly and with caution. --Know the maps: knowing where head glitch spots are, sniper lanes, are really helpful. Not to mention where the heavy ammo spawns or how to get to the control zones, spark, rift, etc. How to escape (and not run into a crate or wall). This is not something you necessarily have to apply yourself to (for example, studying the maps in private match mode); you can pick it up over time with more hours of gameplay. But the point is it's hard to excel if you don't know the map. --If you're wounded, don't get overexcited and try to press- if you engage with low health you could get one-shot. Back off and let your health recover. If they rush you, run away- escape to fight another day. Fighting with a health bar disadvantage is a recipe for losing.

Learn when to disengage from a gunfight. Meaning know when to stick it out for the kill and when you are going to lose. Keeps you alive so much longer

Two stupid and quick one's that I some times forget but are so valuable. First don't die. Try playing some with the entire goal of not letting yourself die if at all possible. Man if you enter the gun fight late don't just bolt. Tagged by a nade get the hell out and heal. That kind of thing. Next don't run. Slower movement with knowing what is on that radar at any moment. Don't wind up running straight into another running shotgun packing game ending player. You can always add more pace later but getting out of the habit of being unaware and getting killed for it is valuable. Good luck and once you get the bone basics then watch videos on crucible by true vanguard and Mtashed and those guys giving more high end instruction.

Use a class and subclass your comfortable with consistently. Use your radar, use your map surroundings, Learn ammo spawn timers and spawn points. Team shoot, don't go Rambo. Learn to push and not to push.
-
Using equipment more often.. Don't waste grenades or throwing knifes for example. Make it count. Being aware of your radar, etc. pretty much focusing more could help
-
Consistently playing against and with players that are better then you
-
3 RepliesTo be honest we cant really help you here, yes we can say use this or that weapon, try this subclass or this one, but when you think about it its really down to how you play and your reaction in different scenarios. I might be wrong but if you're good you're good and if you're bad you're bad, only playing in PvP against different skilled people will test you. Good luck though.

4 RepliesHave you tried "git gud"?

1 ReplyPractice non stop play in the games where the enemy team is destroying yours learn what they do. Play with other people that can communicate and make good call outs. Use what is comfortable with you. And just simply have fun, DO NOT GET ANGRY OR FRISTRATED. If you have a clear calm head you will wreck
-
3 RepliesUse bad weapons. Find really good weapons with amazing perks. Now find weapons similar to that but terrible stats and perks. Practice with the bad weapons until you can easily hold 1+ kd most games. Now switch to you good weapons and everything will feel like it's on easy mode. Don't change up your sensitivity too much and keep it the same. Use the same jumps on your character and Chang your button layout a bit. When in a game never ever try to get revenge on people. If they kill you forget about them and just keep playing. Good luck.
