Title
Edit 4:
So, I have read many peoples' posts saying that Bungie should charge money for additional Vault Space.
I have created a poll below to see what everybody thinks about this suggestion.
IMHO paying for vault space (if you need it or are willing to pay) would be a better investment than the RNG loot packages that are currently on-sale at Eververse.
Here is the link to the poll: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/217116844
Edit 3:
In response to the people that don't need vault space, and have played since vanilla.
1. That's great, I'm happy for you. But please don't tell me or anyone else how to play the game (to delete stuff or to not be a hoarder/collector). As said below this is a loot based game so we should have a place to store our loot.
2. Increasing vault space has absolutely no negative effect on you, so please just go be toxic somewhere else.
Edit 1:
1. In response to "In Vanilla, we only had 20 spaces in the vault." You are correct, however....
A. In vanilla there was much less legendary gear.
B. Although there was only 20 spots in the vault, we have inventory space on each character. 27 spaces for weapons on each character totaling 81 spaces for weapons. 45 spaces for armor per character, totaling 135 armor spaces. So 20+81+135= 236 total inventory spaces in Vanilla.
C. Year 3 total inventory space for weapons and armor... 108 (vault armor) + 108 {vault weapons) + 81 + 135= 432 total inventory spaces for armor and weapons.
Bottom Line: 236 spaces to start was actually very good. But now we don't have even double that amount of space (432), but the game, loot, and content has more than doubled. In the beginning we had 1 Raid, now we have 4.
2. In response to the people saying "delete your stuff":
This is a loot based game, A majority of people play the game for the Loot. When Bungie brings back old strikes, why do we play them? Answer: for the New Loot. We should not have to delete our loot, to make room for new loot, that's just asinine.
Edit 2:
3. Many of us have already deleted all Exotics (because you can get them back w/ Kiosk) and duplicate weapons/armor, I currently have no exotics in the vault. I have 9 Exotic Weapons across all 3 characters in inventory. And 6 exotic Armor pieces across all 3 characters in inventory. I keep no duplicates at all.

5 RepliesI love this, and the fact that you took the time to state the obvious for all those toxic trolls that say "just delete your stuff neh neh neh neh neh". YOU ARE RIGHT that this is a LOOT BASED GAME, and there is SO MANY armor and weapon sets, which is a lot. It's 9 weapons per raid, 5 armors, and times that by 3, is 42 total spaces per raid. Not including Year 1 Trials, Year 1 Iron Banner, Year 2 Trials, Year 2 Iron Banner, Year 3 Trials, Year 3 Iron Banner, Y1-3 Crucible and Vangaurd, AND FACTIONS.... long story long, ITS A LOT OF FRICKING SETS!!! I sure someone at Bungie sees this and really understands what WE (the community, majority at least) WANTS! Thank you for posting this and getting so many bumps!

I've had to delete all my old faction armor as well as exotic weapons I don't really use. It's annoying how they have X amount of gear to obtain but only Y amount of space if that makes sense.

2 RepliesIssue with vault space and armor sets clarified a little better. I'm aware that I'm probably not considering a few options so my final numbers will be off but will still prove a point. To be equipped with armor that best compliments each gun/weapon loadout. I'm only including gauntlets, chest and boots. And this is times 3 for the boot perks for each subclass. Then times 3 for each type of guardian. Gauntlets perks. Increased reload speed times 11 weapon types. Not including sword for obvious reasons Chest. increase amount of ammo perk times 11 weapons Boots. Increase ammo perk times 11 and increased agilty after void, arc, solar double kill. So roughly 33 X 3 X 3 =297. And it still doesn't include raid, trials, iron banner, slr racing, helmets, class items or exotic gear. Or anything you wanted to keep for personal reasons. If someone wants to do the math on that and help me make adjustments to my numbers that would be cool.

Completely agree.

I'm just about ready to delete a heap of stuff, I would just like to know if or when vault space is increased, knowing my luck it will be the day after I delete my treasures

1 ReplyI have an alternate suggestion, just modify the kiosk. Option 1: Once you've received a palindrome, you have the blueprint for it, and its available in a newly created weapons kiosk, to reclaim for glimmer, motes, whatever. Same could be said for legendary armor. Option 2: Add an option to all guns, on the dismantle screen to save THAT roll to your kiosk. This of course could cost strange coins or something else valuable, rather than just a generic very of the gun, which might not have the perks you want. So if for some reason you delete it, you can get that exact roll from selecting it in the kiosk As much as I'd like to see that change, it would directly contradict Bungie's philosophy of grinding, so I highly doubt it'll ever be implemented.

Good reason to not delete gear sitting in the vault: God rolled weapons that have no place in the current meta until Bungie "tweaks" weapons to make them good. Come on, I have like 10 god roll autos that just can't compete because hand cannons and pulse rifles dominate right now.
-
We just need to be able to stack materials, I keep all my exotic armor pieces on the characters themselves, class specific exotics on the class and then personal preference on some of the others, you really shouldn't need any more but hey that's just me voicing my opinion. delete the old stuff, by the time you think they will revamp old raids Destiny 2 will be here
-
Yes you press dismantle on all the useless shit you're collecting in there. Voila more space.
-
Next year Destiny 2 will be out and noone will care about their old armor sets and weapon that they just had to collect.
-
3 RepliesI have less than 20 spots used for absolutely everything I own. Why keep 10 pulse rifles when there will be only 1 you use maybe 2. Why keep 300 pairs of boots ? I used the same ones for over 12 months. Extra rocket ammo . Intellect and discipline . Jobs a good un I suppose I'll never understand hoarders. That's like me ordering 10 different pizzas and stopping eating after 1 cos I'm full. But all the other loomed good so I got them. As well. Now I'm complaining I've got too many pizzas and nowhere to put em
-
I won't be satisfied until I can have one of each combination of perks for the Khvostov in the vault
-
Day 1 player disagrees . I've kept weapons from yr 1 etc no need for extra vault space
-
Most of the loot sucks you foolish hoarder with no taste for weapons or armor
-
-
Not trying to be toxic here but increased vault space is currently on the community wish list. So until Bungo actually decides to care about the community you're kinda out of luck :\
-
The problem with my vault is that I get a really nice piece of armour, or more likely a weapon and think "I will level this later", chuck it in the vault and forget about it.
