Honestly Bungie, this was a big request last year too. Some people are going to spend $40+ to get that Werewolf mask. (Happened with the Skull Mask.) All Legendary masks should be infusible.
EDIT #1: For all of you wanting to ARGUE on a petition to GIVE players MORE in this game. LIGHT LEVEL is EVERYTHING, in this game..... Anything that takes away from that, should be adjusted to retain that.
EDIT #2: Some have suggested making all Legendary & Exotic helmets have ornament slots & the masks themselves be ornaments.

1 ReplySure! I'd be okay with that I was hoping for a permanent pumpkin mask myself...

1 ReplyLosing light and stats while wearing a mask is bungies way of maklife my the quests harder to complete.
-
Or just make it a consumable that can be used infinitely. And stacks with the light level of the gear it attaches to.

2 RepliesAlright Bungie, Over 500 Likes & over 700 replies. Let's put this in motion. Your fans are eager to rock these items year round.

Vanity slots. Lots of other online games have them and they are clearly the best solution.
-
It would cost silver dust to infuse or make ornmanet. People already want more free silver dust. So in turn they should not. Leave the masks as event items and cosmetic. There are better and more important things they should be focused on. They already provided 4 shaders. There is no happy ending so Let, It, Go.

Isn't this just for closet furries?

1 ReplyThey would have, but you know BUNGIE, they're absolutely clueless as what we find enjoyable and if it is fun, we cant have it. No fun allowed... Plain and simple.

1 ReplyAnother petition that will go nowhere let's goooooooooooooooooo

14 RepliesEdited by threeDcubed: 10/26/2016 11:34:50 AMVanity slots would solve this, so that we can look like whatever we want, even, gasp, that green or blue armor that we like more than the legendary or exotic gear. To those who don't understand what a "vanity slot" would be, it would simply be another place in our inventory where we could place gear to alter just our appearance. We'd still need our best gear with the best stats in the normal armor slots, but could add another piece in a corresponding vanity slot to just change the appearance of that piece of gear. Again, the vanity slots would only be cosmetic and wouldn't affect the stats/light of the armor in the primary slot. Edit 1: to those concerned about appearance affecting crucible, the vanity slots could simply be turned off in crucible, or maybe just in Trials and Iron Banner.

Vanity slots.

I think it would be cool if it went on over your helmet. But just for this month. That way we get to wear it but not out of season if that makes sense...

5 RepliesEdited by Willie Killigan: 10/26/2016 9:59:29 PMThey sell Halloween masks in Walmart year round. If you showed up wearing that mask to work every day, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have a job anymore. Unless you worked in a store that sold masks. But then you probably wouldn't need to buy a mask from Walmart. "My life IS the Festival of The Lost" - Eris Morn Don't be a ugly three eyed emo.

They should just put a mask slot in the same page as shaders and dances. Pop your mask on, and done. Off to the races. They would probably see more people buying the FOTL treasures, if they could wear them and maintain their light.

Meh, just ask for vanity slots for all armor

3 RepliesEdited by ISOL4TE: 10/26/2016 4:47:31 PMYou can get masks from the kiosk purely because they are cosmetic items. To attempt to put an armor value on them would be to remove the commodity. I don't know about you, but I personally prefer the idea of having a mask kiosk for masks with no armor value aka cosmetic, than a vault with over 20 masks with the ability to be infused. Giving them armor is not a proper way to deal with it, nor is to move them to ornaments. For example, if someone has one free ornament slot left, then the masks would be unable to move over. They [Bungie] would need to create brand new slot, not to mention mechanic, for masks. This is also impractical. It's best to leave it as it is - a fun, silly gimmick commemorating Halloween, than to ask it to be anything more than that. Yes, it decreases light level. It's a gag for Halloween, and that's ok that it does that then. For activities that require serious light level advantages, not wearing a gag mask into that activity is more rational and should suffice, rather than having a new mechanic or light-level enabled masks. EDIT: Masks can be worn in most crucible modes, patrols, and even strikes. Masks cannot be worn in competitive crucible (IB and Osiris) and Raids because the light level drops. I don't see why or how that's a problem.

Or have vanity override slots
-
2 RepliesNo ... No infuse ... Just let us use it and the helmet ... Have another slot just for masks ... That way we don't lose stats or a helmet slot to use masks ...
-
Shouldn't be infuse items, should be vanity items with their own slot. No effect to light. Simply a different look.

Here. How to make the masks usable year round and not make them infusable or take up item slots. The masks, all the masks, are stored in the holiday items kiosk. That new one by the shaders and emblems. You go to the kiosk, and select which "Cosmetic Items" you'd like to wear... And really we need more than just masks. This item goes into the quest items or what ever it's called slot, where your faction affiliation, challenge of elders, etc things go... And the cosmetic items you've picked stay active until you replace them at the kiosk, or break them down at the menu screen. It literally could not be any easier and would take zero effort.
